- In this video, I'll show you one of the easiest and the quickest way to install a solid rubber tire onto a rim of an electric scooter. This literally takes seconds to put it on! This is from a Swagtron Swagger 5 electric scooter but this method will work with any scooters like the Xiaomi M365, GoTrax, Bird, Lime, Razor...
Best. Most informative. Funniest. Tutorial video for scooter tires. Ever.
Thanks so much for posting this video. I was trying to wrestle a new rear tire onto my GoTrax, and was struggling to get it done. Your method works well. Fun ending, BTW.
Which GoTrax do you have and how do you like it?
Dudes get a vice!!!!!!!! Omg get a freaking vice literally took me 2 seconds after I boiled the tire it just popped right on. Oh btw you sir are getting both a like and a subscribe for this one
What size vice shall I get? :)
Yeah what vice do you have?
I've been trying to get my tyre back on but is being difficult do you have any ideas
Thank you! I have watched two mother videos with different methods and they didn’t work. Your method is the only one that worked!! Again, Thank you and if anyone needs to put on a solid rubber tyre I recommend this guys video. It works!!!
This worked out perfect took a few tries to get the rim and tire on the bottom set right but got it and the front tire went super easy ….thanks for the great video .
"She not home right now" hopefully she don't see the video🤣🤣 thank you for the amazing video though!! Very helpful my friend 🤘🏼
Loved the wok/wife joke while installing and instructing...great job !
Thanks for taking the time to document!.
“Oops..”
Lols
Nice touch🤙🏻
Thank you. I tried for a couple of hours before seeing this video. Thank you, thank you!!!! The only way to get these thing on.
Best video ever loved the screwdriver in the holes for the last part of lining it to rim part I was having issues with kudos good work now for back tire XD gotta remove all the guards and shit around it first though then comes the fun part lmao
Excellent video! Thanks for posting ❤️
Thank you 1000x. Best $12 at Harbor Freight I’ve ever spent (for 2 24” tire irons). If you have a vice on your workbench, this is your best option.
My vice broke and I couldn't get the wheel to stay in the vice
I did something similar using my feet. I just balanced on it with all my weight (acted as the clamps) and forced it with two flat head screw drivers...no lubrication as well. I did however boil that bish for 20+ minutes. Thanks for this video...it helped me get angry at my rubber wheels. :)
Omg thank you so much after couple of hours struggling i have done your method and it workeddddd!!! Thanks again man
Thank you so much boss!
Just used this method and it took 10min max
What kind of vice do u have
Thanks mate could t have done it without you. I had the motor in the front wheel so i tried without the vice first.
You have to use the vise. Dont try it without a vice.
Hahah the wife bit at the end. Excellent, straightforward video. Thanks mate
Very helpful! Thank you
Good luck with the wok LOL
Thanks for your video, it worked great, I put some scrap plywood on each side not to damage the wheel.
Good idea. What kind of vice did you use?
@@itsmesezgin MIAMI VICE
You are brilliant sir
While this is tough to do for the first time, having a second person to help is nice. Also 3 tire irons can help make it faster (2nd person holds the 3rd)
.
I had a thought... you can exploit the holes on the sides of the tire. put 4 rods in each hole equal distance around tire. Use 4 ratchet straps to stretch the tire, then slide in your rim. Probably still need to lubricate the rim and tire and a screw driver to get the rim in. But this way you limit the damage to your rim.
Anyway, Im not sure if the metal rods will tear out of the rubber holes, but you could put 2 rods per side to transfer the stress load over two holes. Since the holes are close to each other, the rods can be spaced a little further. Such as... rod-hole-rod. anyway. i hope this helps or maybe you can alter my idea for better or simpler results.
Nice video. very informative. Lots of practical tips. loved the funny ending. Liked & Subscribed. Questions: Where did you buy the solid tire? Did you put solid tires on front & rear tires of your scooter? Thanks for sharing.
Great video, just a little concerned there are no soft pads on the vice and the steel tyre levers would damage and scratch the rim.
You are a genius!
this dude is quality
👍🤣she knows
Thanks for the video, I will doing the same swap to soild tire
Cool tire... :D
Thanks man definatlye gonna try that hot water thing and i need some steel tools xD
Hahaha this was awesome and funny!
Worked great for getting the tire on but having a difficult time getting the bead to seat, do you have any recommendations when using a solid rubber tire with holes on the inside, not the outer edge
My first thought was... I wonder if they make a split rim for solid rubber tires?... Then I fiddled with it for a minute, and realized that I need to watch a video... I watched this video, and ordered a vice from Amazon. It will be here tomorrow. Woohoo 🎉
Haha the nice part was funny. Made me forget how fitting this tyre is difficult
Nice, I would cover the vice with some cushioning material so not to damage the rim.
Haha you got busted...hey thank you...I have to replace my tires on a scooter my brother mugsy gave me..your video helped alot...I don't have a heat gun but I do have an old pot I can boil water in..
Bra att veta mannen 😊
Vuaeco always make me laugh .. :)
Lessons learned from the video.
1. Get a Vice.
2. Get your own pan.
3. Don’t scratch the rim 🤣
Thanks
very nice
Would this type of tire work on an INOKIM OXO? Thanks
Also I put a rag on both sides off the vice so not to mess up the rim
Do we need a rubber rim around the wheel for this sort of wheel ?
Thank you! I’m off to buy a vice! Lol 😍
Which vice did u buy? Thinking of buying one too
@@itsmesezgin I asked somebody on here what size vice should I buy but not been answered yet 😭
@@JustBlondie Exactly. Well, in this video it looks like a big one. I dont think im gonna buy that big if I buy. There are some you can turn 360 degrees and mount it on and off that looks like it could do the job with half the price of this big one. But dont know yet. I need something that works easy and I can have at home.
Mine came with solid rubber tires (HiBoy S2 Pro) and they are rock hard with hardly any flex at all. I'd like to replace them with honeycomb tires but they look like a pain to remove 😩.
I really dislike a metal to metal contact situation, particularly on a motor hub tyre, so will have to try to protect the rim in some way :(
Lol on the last part.... The frying pan is missing thanks for idea of changing tyre
Have a question man I seen your green machine video and it in survived me to make something of my own and I slapped a 1800w motor on and I've went through two wheels already and don't know where to get the tyres from and I've already had to buy two broken Green Machines just to use a tires off them so was wondering if you still have that or know what size the front wheel was that would be super appreciated 😎?? Keep up the videos
It should be written on the side of the tyre. According to websites it is a 20 inch tyre
Can you use this same method on a gotrax flex?
BTW, what is the size of your Vice, is it a 4" jaw width and 2" throat depth, maybe I need to get a bigger 5" vice?
Rubber has a *very* low thermal conductivity, If you want the tire to be warm all the way to the core, you leave it in longer
I've done a lot of experiments on this but the best way that works for me is to put and oil like chain oil around and use flat screw driver's and stepping on it with shoes no need to submerged in boiling water... I replace even bigger than that fat solid tires...
Does any vice work?
Do you have any link to the tire? :)
Rubber for dinner honey?
Why ma hub motor stops after a few minutes? Please let know. Battery is good esc is new the hall sensor are fine and it'll stops after a few minutes.
My wife’s fried rice pan!😂😂
She not home right now 😂😂
Du ma soo good
I cant be the 1st to comment...wooohoooooo😁
Woo hoo!
waaaaaaawwww :))))))
I'm looking to not fk my rim up lol. You got it yes, just have OCD. The tire I got is a replica for a e scooter. I love them. I want to reverse the tread on one of them so it doesn't look tacky. I'm making something pretty cool and solid e scooter aluminum or a sturdy comppsite material rims, solid flat free tires and Durable ceramic bearings. These things go forever lol. If you get a grinding wheel and put a polishing Pad on it, then use that to speed up the wheel. Use the inertia to to push the wheel off. Do this with a solid axle. So. If you can't get it off that way, do it afterwards to balance the tire and have a heat gun.. I made my wheels bills near perfect with balancing. I'm just pissed about the tread
The soapy water definitely helps but be prepared for a fight
i can put on solid tyre turboant x7 pro
I'd like to see him try that method with the back tire motor.
Shouldnt it be the same?
I use a tire size 10*2.50-6.5, what size do I need to replace it with, please help.
The same size, 10 inch x 2.5 to 6.5
Anyone know if you can put a inflatable rear tire on the existing rim. I am not a ran of how harsh the ride is with a solid rear tire.
Update: you can do it as long as there's a hole for the tube stem, works great and rides way better.
I liked because of the wife comment
So cute ! frying pan smell rubber.
Bro I just did this and should of watched this first I used a butter knife and my kung fu grip I wound up wetting the tire under hot water but I think it was just the water that made it slip on and before my tires came in I tried to patch the tube first which I pinched twice and wound up with a slow leak but don’t gotta worry bout flats now
I just heat the tire and used WD40 and some muscle 😅 it work for me.
I find that if I get the solid tire to the boil for 20 mins, I can easily just use 3 screwdrivers to put it on, no need other devices just two feet and 3 screwdrivers
now we can't out the motor in water can we? so show us an alternative method of installing the tire on the motor
Good luck with handling the wife! 😂
how about the motor wheel???
Right here i did it.
ruclips.net/video/FCi6fa6KUts/видео.html
Isnt it the same or?
5:03 it’s easy to do with the tyre that has holes 🤣
I can't remove the tire
Solid tires are so comportable to drive with, thats why i went back to tubed tires. 😂😂😂
Until you're stranded in the middle of nowhere just because you run over a thorn on the road.
I have a scooter down in Mexico, good luck finding tubes, guess you were just a dumbo for using them if they aren’t really needed 🤷♂️
Where i live theres always broken glass everywhere. Air filled tyres isn't practical for me.
Hi, can you install a solid tire for me for a ninebot 10" tire? I will pay you! Do you happen to around California?
No, this is not working for me. The wheel won't stick to the thingy. It just falls of whenever I put a little pressure with the two tools.
Is that the only way? I don’t have much tools like that
Cable ties work
You don't need tools.
ruclips.net/video/FCi6fa6KUts/видео.html
@@rabbieburns2501 how
there's no easy way without some tools. the challenge is holding the tire firmly on the rim where you start it so that it stays in place while you use the irons to lever the tire around the rim. some people use cable ties to hold the start point in place but you can't do that with the motor wheel. others just stand on it with both feet, but that's also tricky to do when you're trying to also lever the tire around the rim. also, since the tire is slippery from the lubricant it's also hard to grip it with your hands. when it's in a vice you can really get some leverage on the whole thing without it slipping around.
taking off the tire.... cant you just cut it off with some sheet metal cutters? i need to change my tire uugh not looking forward to it.... looking for a good frying pan to use lol
Since you're already going solid. Why not just cut the regular tyre off with a knife and save you 30% of the heartache?
he started when still day light and finished at night.... just saying... it takes looooongggg time.
Gotta wait for wife to leave before I could use the frying pan. :D
hahaha.. facts
Too bad I don’t have a big tire vice and tire iron
Why not cut the old tire in half? :P
5:03 it’s easy to do with the tire that has holes 🤣🤣🤣
it’s easy to do with the tyre that has holes
@@cliffordfowler7963 lmfao
Just couldn’t do it so ended selling the scooter and got a bike
opssss
I ordered online same 8.5” rim and solid tyre also with same 8.5”. I cooked that mf heated with heat gun but it didn’t go in. First can you tell me what size of solid tyre will fit in 8.5 inch rims and secondly guy dont try home trust me . There are some mechanical work let them do. U might hurt yourself or can break parts. Its not easy. 😢 they charge you for reason
Ha...i was going to say your cover is blown...everybody could see your face reflection in a soapy bubble
Ha!
I have some what mixed views about your method to fit solid tyre on to the rim.First of all not everyone has a suitable vice lurking around in home so not ideal for everyone.Tyre levers recommended but an average size screw drivers will do too.If you have a vice make sure it is secured well and not wobbly like this guy has.You could end up with serious injuries if the rim or vice comes off while you are exerting a force to put the tyre on.Also to be careful how tight you clamp the rim as you could damage the rim by over tightening the vice. There are other ways to fit solid tyres, none of them very easy so find what suits you 👍
would be nice to see how to do this without your rims looking like shit afterwards...
Put a piece of card board on the side that's in contact with the vise.

We won’t tell your wife
Lol the pan smell like rubber
Hi I installed a new rubber tyre and it keeps coming off when riding do you think its faulty its not the wrong size as I did measure it before I purchased it
Instaltion of solid scooter tires are kind of like pulling excaliber from the rock or untying the knot of destiny. Almost unattainable by mere mortals without a golden fleece and the "holy vice of destiny". The road to tire instalation is litterd with the corpses of the fallen who foolishly thought they were worthy....
Very well put
Removal technique was a waste of time. Take a saw and saw the old tire off. Takes 5 secs.
You're gonna destroy the rim in the process, too. Takes 5 secs.
the fact its so hard to put these tires on makes me not want to get them..
You’ll be banging your head against the wall. Just pay someone trust me it’s not worth the stress
