Have a 2014 GMC Terrain AWD (2.4L Ecotec) with its first ATF change (a bit late, about 20K past its "normal" service) at just under 113K miles. It was black, but apparently not burnt smelling. It seemed to be shifting OK before and After the service so that is good...
As mentioned in the Video it got 2 Drain/Fills... Although many sources (including the Shop I took it to with my own provided Dexron VI ATF, just enough for 2 Fills) suggests 3 drain/fills for this Transmission.
Had a sample taken and sent for oil testing. Depending on what the results say I may return for another 3 drain/fill sooner rather then later. (Shop suggested within 15,000 miles)

Awesome video, thank you very much for your time and help.
I got this car about a year ago, tranny oil looks good and clean but I'm about to change oil and filter, question is I don't know what kind of fluid they use on it, don't know if synthetic or conventional, would I be okay using what the manual says? 110000 + miles.
    Thanks again brother.

What can you say about the car that goes at limp mode at 100mph??? What can be the problem, the car tachometer maximum speed is 180mph. Shifting from 0 to 100mph is fast but when it reaches at 100mph it struggles to go past 100mph.

    • @retiredsnowbunnyhunterx5106

That sound like the governor on the car. Regardless of what the max speed says some cars won't go past that.

@@retiredsnowbunnyhunterx5106 initially it was moving well up to 180, nowadays it has that problem, how is this caused by governor????

    • @retiredsnowbunnyhunterx5106

@@edwinalexander1170 Yeah that sound more like a transmission problem. Fluid and filter change might change that. If not might want to start saving for a rebuild an plan not to go over 100 mph. 😂 Not exactly sure why you driving that fast unless you on the track an even then you can't get it up to 180.

I heard. if u never changed your tranmission oil before . If it gets to 1000 milage, dont change it at all because it will damage the car if u change the tranmission oil.

    • @bhipapi5811

So run the same oil for 100k+ miles? I heard it needs to be replaced every 30k especially with “higher performance” cars. What u think?
