  • HOW TO MAKE PRIDDY OGGIES (pork, apple, cheese pasties)
    IF YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A PRIDDY OGGY THEN I WE URGE YOU TYO GIVE THEM A GO... THEY ARE DELICIOUS.
    WE GOT THIS RECIPE FROM A PAUL HOLLYWOOD BOOK
    INGREDIENTS:
    PASTRY
    450g plain flour
    ½ tsp salt
    115g cold lard, diced
    75g cold butter, diced
    25g Parmesan cheese, finely grated
    70-80ml ice-cold water
    1 egg, lightly beaten, to glaze
    FILLING
    300g pork tenderloin
    150g smoked streaky bacon
    1 medium cooking apple
    1 large onion, coarsely grated
    75g mature Cheddar cheese, grated
    2 tbsp chopped parsley
    Salt and pepper

    Love her manner, and unlike most it is not perfection all the time, like she said about her own crimping. My mother used to cook and in most cooking programmes, for example all biscuits look the same, which they never all do.

    A wonderful combination and a great alternative to the traditional pasty. The pastry is a cheese lovers delight. Enjoy ( oh and they freeze excellently) xx

    I’ve tried a pork and apple pasty from a multi outlet shop and wasn’t impressed. However these seem to have lots of extras to add interest and taste. I’m going to give them a go.

    Excellent recipe. Thanks. I did not realise that Oggie meant pasty. So the Big O is really known as a big pasty?

      Exactly although it’s more a coincidence really because my surname is Ogden and my mums nickname when she was a school cleaner was Oggie. So I took hers and became who I am today.
