There’s a quest that confirms Xbalanque was the previous Pyro Archon, perhaps during the time of the cataclysm. And Capitano speaks of Mavuika’s unfulfilled oath back then… Perhaps Xbalanque is lost in the night kingdom like Kachina was.

The story not only references him, but the aesthetic also matches. As well as referenced in the Maidens Beloved set. His black clothes used to be all white until the day he pledged his life to ceaseless slaughter in the name of Justice. Through years he lost himself in his commitment to killing, his white cloak was painted red and dried black, over and over again. Hence the name Bloodstain Knight. He was Mentored by Rostam an assistant to the master of the Knights of Favonius at the time, Rostam was also the Lover of La Signora. Who’s death set her tragic story in Motion. Capitano was good friends with Rostam and in tern was friends with Rosalyne (Signora) this is why in the Winter Lazzo Fatui Trailer Capitano was the only one who called Rosalyne not by her first name or her alias but by her last name as a sign of Respect for his old friend and late Masters Lover. His story in the artifacts and sword has him realize that in his conquest to vanquish and purge evil from the world he must travel to the abyss and from there on out his story is up in the air. But IF the case is that he lasted hundreds of years in the abyss his powers are by far no doubt ABSOLUTELY DIABOLICAL.
For people who think Captiano is a descender, just remember that Descender =/= Outlander / person who originated outside Teyvat Every Descender is an Outlander, but not every Outlander is a Descender necessarily
