There is now a western adventures splatbook for CoC. I do enjoy the variety offered in this new editorial plan but I do agree with Doc Kurt that the system is not that good for high thrills action as Savage Worlds.

Be kind on Oklahoma's inclusion, the campaign was written by a gaggle of Brits and to us Oklahoma is INCREDIBLY exotic.

If you read Lovecraft's story "The Mound," the Oklahoma final setting makes perfect sense.

Old video, but I was just checking this out. I'm a fan of Seth Skorkowski and like hearing his reviews on Cthulhu, but have no idea how to play it. I always liked his telling of this campaign and I've been interested in reading the book but I never was terribly interested in actually learning how to play Call of Cthulhu, because my friends are fine with 5e and it's plenty of crunch for them. I don't want to go through trying to teach them Call of Cthulhu, then Pulp Cthulhu.
However, I did recently pick up SWADE on a whim and it was so easy to pick up I taught my friends how to play it and ran them through a couple of Deadlands games, which they've been really enjoying. So I came back to The Two Headed Serpent, wondering if I could convert it to SWADE. I wanted to check out some more reviews of this and, lo and behold, right here in this video he talks about converting it to Savage Worlds!

While there were some fantastic moments here and there, we ended up stopping in the third chapter or so. There were just too many little things here and there that had to be kind of glossed over - dealing with the bomb in the jungle comes to mind. The players also felt that double hit points didn't matter much with the big monsters that could still wipe them out, plus lots of hit points matters less when you still heal quite slowly.
I think CoC works best in the original setting, I agree...or more really as a general supernatural game, where there isn't always an epic out of your league one shot you monster. I confess I am curious about the other Cthulhu games, though.

I guess it comes down to a simple question: Is the scenario strong enough that one could divorce it from the BRP system and attach it to something that could handle pulp better, like Savage Worlds or FATE?

Maybe you could break these into a player friendly section and a spoiler section.
