!!! CAUTION !!! Some of you rightly pointed out to me that the sound from the video is slightly speeded up. That is due to my mistake while exporting of the video. I will keep this video up for now as it is not a fatal flaw IMO, but later down the line I will upload a fixed version
    !!! CAUTION !!!
Hi and welcome back to Digital Stereophony channel in 2021!
Today we start a new batch of comparisons and there are two things I need to mention. First of all I recently moved to different, smaller apartment where it is much more difficult to record, so I am still in the process of figuring out how to record comparisons the best way. This time around the sound may not be as good as usual, but I am sure I will improve it next time.
Second thing is that my measuring microphone refused to cooperate during the recordings, so there will be no frequency response charts for this batch of videos. Sorry for that.
Anyways, 2020 is finally done and dusted so I wish you all the best in 2021! Cheers!

maybe you record in a DAW only one speaker. first play right channel then left channel to 2 microphone tracks with same microphone and pan them right and left. in DAW they stay sample sync. you can use free daw studione one or waveform tracktion for this. this give much better results stereo wide near original on good speakers as the MTM. and you need only buy 1 speaker to test. maybe you try it out.

I'm blown away by the bang for the buck offered by the Yamaha speakers, even if trying to make a decision based on a compressed YT video is a fools errand. I'd love to hear both on sand-filled stands in a treated room but given that I dont have a treated room, its probably a waste of time anyway. I was about to pull the pin on a new pair of Edifiers - not the Airpulse but definitely in the same ballpark as the HS8 - thanks for making that an even tougher choice ;)

750$ vs 2..000$ (pair) comparison... HS8's , for what they're made, are better than the other ones
But just for Hi-fi listeners, Airpulse are a good alternative, (although I think that at that price, you'll find a better solution).

I did not have a chance to listen to them side by side unfortunately, but from what I can tell is that A300Pro feels much more linear and detailed in the mids and high end, while still being enjoyable to listen. Thank you my friend. I was thinking today, when will you have an A300 pro for comparison? And now I'm looking at the comparison of the A300 pro and the Yamaha HS8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that the bass of the A300 pro is not as dry as that of the A300. How would you describe the difference in the sound of these two systems? If you still remember the sound of the A300, of course.

    • @DSAUDIOreview

A300 was too bright and analytical to my liking, with rather uninspiring bass response. Pro version feels much more pleasant and enjoyable to listen while still being very open and detailed sounding. The last time I heard A300 was in june of 2018 though, so keep that in mind.
