A really good interview I hadn't heard before. I loved the book, it was heartbreaking, just wanted to teach into the pages and hug that little boy 😢 Really well written ❤
I'm a big fan of both Sue and Alan and this was lovely to listen to. I had a lovely white German Shepherd named Jamie, who used to dance with me and my daughter. He was as tall as me when he stood up on his back legs.
His book is magnificent. Heartbreaking, enlightening, funny, personal, just everything. Everyone should read it because I believe everyone can take something from it.
Fascinating, funny man. What an extraordinary childhood losing his very young mom. He has created a wonderful life despite some terrible experiences. I've been there as well, but haven't recovered as well. Do buy his amazing & gripping memoir. Thank you to Alan for the many laughs. He really has brought so much joy to myself & my friends. (And he's adorable as well 💜).
Such an excellent interview! I agree with so much that is said. I could relate to so much in his book, especially the part of never being heard and how such trauma affects one so many years later. I also came away from the book feeling very protective of him, not that I've ever even met him, but his honestly and willingness to show such vulnerability is profoundly moving. I think his book totally captured everything he hoped it would. Before the book and not knowing much about him, I always found him to have such a unique kindness about him and even is subtle, he would stand up for others. Now, it makes so much more sense and understand where it all comes from. Sue- what a brilliant interviewer she is. Obviously she is brilliant, but her kindness and underlying vulnerability makes her such an excellent person to interview such a delicate subject. Have been such a fan of hers for year.
the admission that he walked away and handed over the extinction of life to another poor soul was a brave admission and a caution for other potential pet owners
Love you both! 2 of my favorite comedians of all time. I would like to say that as an Alsatian/GSD owner and lover, they do not normally have a sloped hind end, that has been breed into their physiology. I guess someone decided they looked more frightening or some other stupid reason. A natural slope is not as deep, and hardly noticeable. I am against doing these kinds of alterations to animals just to please the human eye. Sorry for this rant, it’s a pet peeve of mine. The interview was fantastic! I just wish I wasn’t across the pond as I would love to see you both on stage or somewhere! Cheers!💜
I remembering staying with my dog, (my husband crapped out) while he she got her final shot. She screamed in outrage! How dare you do this to me? I was totally rattled. I thought she was ready to go. I never quite got over that response.

Thank you, Sue, for hosting and in the creation of your show, a truly beautiful interactive format 😀 😂❤

The algorithm gets it right ever once and a while. Great interview.

Border collie. Thats what he needs. Healthy, live long, clever.
The audio needs some improvement. Alan’s sound is good, but Sue seems to be using a bad microphone with a bad internet connection.
