Actually, I remember RM saying in an interview that his fashion has gotten better because during the early days, he used to just throw outfits together. In a Junne 20 2020 interview (but i feel like it was mentioned again more recently.... i could be wrong) Jungkook said it was actually Suga that used to dress up alot in the early days and wear alot of Fedoras with his outfits.
i think RM is the most versatile dresser in BTS.and i love how he always look so effortlessly chic..plus amazing body proportions so even he dress up in a sack he stil looks good..😁
RM is very versatile, I would say that RM is the manifestation of all the members. He doesn't fit into one color, he's very natural and straightforward at times, and at other times he comes off as a rich millionaire and company owner.

BTS RM also sometimes wear skirt in public challenging gender roles and I love it. You can also search for bts in corset, in fishnet etc and they don’t care if the shoe or bag is for women or not. I think both RM and Jhope have a wonderful fashion sense. RM has great legs for shorts and he often wears them. You should check out RM and Jhope wearing skirts over pants. They looked great! Also search for RM's look at one of the award shows (GMA). He totally rocked a long black overcoat. He looked majestic and hot from head to toe!
For the airport, his footwear makes sense...especially considering this was a time when you had to take off your shoes. These offer a quick and easy process...all he had to do is slip his feet out, instead of having to untie shoes, take them off, put in basket to go through scanner, and take time on the other side of security to put on and retie again. It is truly a headache wearing normal shoes at an airport..
I never realized how different RM’s airport outfits are from his main everyday clothes style Hopefully you can make a separate video later about his more normal and everyday outfits. He has such a warm, nature-like vibe ☺️

I think is all about phases, RM is the one who was already interested in fashion since pretty much the beginning of BTS, so he has worn more "I'm-totally-into-fashion" showy outfits before 🤣🤣🤣 But nowdays he kinda of changed his approach to things more subtle. Jin, JK and SUGA are also known to wear more simple outfits... And, of course, for all the boys, they wear these outfits to show it after all, so yes, it doesn't need to be "casual" is like the only oportunity to officially show off their own fashion game without the stylist crew getting involved. They often say how important the "airport outfit" is.
The slide thing is a byproduct of the no outside shoes in the house custom. Slides and socks brings a cozy at home feeling to an outfit, like the people wearing sleepwear out.

I would really love to know what designers they are wearing for concerts or MV. Of course Gucci is in a lot of them, but I know Dior designed for the boys and that was a first for the design house( creating outfits for a band)
