Would love to see a follow up video of you testing each one and maybe even a tier list?
Yes this☝️
Also Xbox love to see it
exactly my thoughts! A part two to this would be great, and for a video like this full of unknown microphones it is nearly necessary.
Yes!!!, it would be good to hear them, but specially the ones that are expensive.
he did it , here it is : ruclips.net/video/W22-GzUKV40/видео.html
Speaking of Peavy Mics... Back in the 70s I was in a cover band setting up in a Brooklyn pub when I realized I didn't have my microphone bag. In a panic I ran a couple of blocks to a local music store and bought a Peavy Dynamic mic for $50. It was roughly the shape of an SM58 but was all white. It wound up being my favorite vocal mic. Around 10 years later I was freelance engineering a session in a recording studio in Tampa, Florida. I was recording a grand piano with an AKG C414 and as an experiment I placed my old Peavey mic on a stand under the piano pointing up at the soundboard. The next day the owner of the studio having listened to the recordings I had made the night before raved about the sound of the piano, saying he had never heard that piano sound that great. He asked me how I mic'ed it. I showed him my set-up and he asked me if he could buy my Peavey. I said it was my favorite vocal mic for live gigs and didn't want to sell it. He offered me $200. I sold it to him. I believe he set it up permanently under that piano.
do you remember the name of the mic

What a story mark
I traded, with an old boss, a Pioneer turntable I had refurbished for a bundle of musical equipment. In the lot was a Peavey Celebrity Series CD20 in white with a black grille. It actually sounds good on many voices, acoustic guitars, accordion, bagpipe and who knows what else. I mean, it's not my go-to for anything, but whenever I pull the thing out the vibe gets a little silly then surprised reactions follow.
Part 2 of testing them all!

Booth Junkie: Microphones!!!
Now this is the content I love to see :)
I wholly agree. I'm not into fashion anyway. I like a plain old pair of jeans and a graphic shirt. XD
Have a good day netizen! 💜
Best unboxing ✨💫✨🎉 #microphones
Hey Mike, be sure to unscrew the handle on the C1000S to make sure there's no corroded battery inside!
Half way through the video i was like damn you got scammed man lol… but all the good stuff was at the bottom of the box.
M88: nice mic! Too dark for most voices IMO, but great on bass guitar cabs, floor toms, even kick drum.
C1000: end fire, battery powerable condenser.
3 identical pencil condensers: 2x overheads plus hi hats ;)
Great to see the actual Dan Worrall here.
I'm happy for you and the channel. Can't wait to hear some of them as you put them through their paces.
Excited for all the good content still to come out of this box in the next few months!
What a great idea and beautifully delivered as always. I always look forward to your posts! Can’t wait to hear some of the mics!
What a fantastic video, thank you for taking this gamble Mike!
That was actually fun. I was following along and looking them up as you went. Nice haul. As always thanks for all you do.
Love the C414 B-ULS. I have three of them and I use them regularly on drum overheads, acoustic guitars and other stringed instruments, guitar and bass amps, as well as vocals. Truly versatile mics, I tend to use them like "the SM57 of condenser mics" in terms of when I reach for them.
Thank you so much! it was a pleasure watching you unboxing and enjoying your discovery journey!
Now that is an unboxing! Awesome!
Cool find Mike, thanks for sharing the experience.
Thanks for sharing Mike, as a former radio guy (from the 1970's), I also have an interest in microphones.
I enjoy all of your videos, and I'm very happy to see a new one!
Very happy to see you again, can't wait to see more.
That was super fun! Thanks for sharing, glad you got your money's worth!
This was so much fun to watch! Thanks for sharing!

Will you be reporting on what works and what is dead?
Rats, the invite is expired. Repost?
You can mic your sit now! You still have the kit we saw in the background ages ago, right?
Umm, link expired. Would like to join your discord server tho :)
This got me watching through with alot of anticipation. Can't wait for the tests.
Fantastic. Can't wait to see the results of you trying them!
This was really cool. Congrats!
Great content. Can’t wait to see you try them all out!
That was fun! thanks for sharing.
Good to see you Mike!
Palpable excitement! What fun! can't wait to hear them!
'M420 hehe' Hahaha!
I am surprised you weren't totally shafted
After the first few, I thought I had been too. I got nervous after I opened it and started seeing really banged up mics. The weird part was that the sale had other nice mics that were separate. I had no expectation to get a *really* nice mic. But once I started digging in and I saw that striped box I new I had to save it for last.
Cool man, love the neat mics
This was so cool. Man, I want to hear that AKG!
What excitement !! Can’t wait to hear how they sound 😎
Oh! So thrilling! Respect for the bold move and thanks for the movie!
A typical unboxing video from any other channel: 🥱
Mike DelGaudio opens a loot box full of microphones: 😲!!!
Very cool! I would love to see the last microphone in action - I wouldn't underestimate this one, it might be a jaw dropper!
There’s NOTHING better than the joy of unboxing something special. Excited to share in your joy!
Wow, great pulls! Loved this video.
This was amazing! Thank you for recording it for us. I started my microphone collection by buying a travel case of random microphones on eBay. Love it.
Looks like you did alright with your "Mystery box"! I hope the nice models still work, particularly the C414! The C1000s is an end address, small condenser, often used for things like drum overheads, hi-hat, acoustic guitar, etc. Not the best mics in the world, but OK if you are on a budget! My profile pic is a pair of them as I use them for my ASMR stuff and drum recordings, etc!
Enjoyed this!
I had the best 25 minutes of my week. Well done.
Congrats on the nice haul! Scoring a Unidyne III as your first 57 is great luck ;) Man, I would have loved to look around that place, I'm a sucker for vintage studio gear! I _think_ those wooden speaker monitors up top @ 0:45 were EV MS-802's, classics I still use and love, but aren't so common anymore. Anyway, hope your new additions provide >$1k worth of dynamic enjoyment! 👍👍
We need tests of these microphones! Thanks for the great video.
What a cool video! Nice find!
I'm not so much of a gambler, but man do I love buying vintage gear on the cheap and see if it still works...
Also I love to get it fixed as well (most of the gear has some issue).
Seeing pre-loved gear getting a future is awesome!
can't wait to hear you on the Beyer and AKG 414!!!
What a great find
Exciting video, well done. I knew every name of every mic within 1 second of you showing it out of the case/bag/box lol. Really had me thinking you'd been left holding a bag of trash until that M88TG came out. Surprised you didn't find any Sennheisers in there. Both Beyers are good horn mics (sax, trumpet, etc), although Lou was likely using them on a bass drum and/or floor toms (I would say snare but I'm guessing it's all dirt-baggy enough to assume the 57s were always on the snares and rack toms). $1 says the B-ULS was a spot mic used just outside of the bass drum for shell resonance, on bass and guitar cabinets and for backing vox. We'd have to hear Lou's recordings to know more.
This is gonna be exciting.
That old AKG 414 is such a classic shape! Love it!
This video was great fun, thank you!
Enjoyed your gab bag. I have collected some decent mics over the years. Shure 87 and 57 2 each, Peluso 22-251 3 matched with Brass C-12. AKG 451-2 ,1- 414 ULS, 414-EB C12 brass cap AND RCA- 44 ribbon. The Pelusos are top notch.
Dude, I was hoping for you to have a 414 in that case while you were opening it up! and Bam! there it was! Nice bunch of mics you got there! and that empty ziplock bag at the beginning was probly the empty bag of weed.. loll .. Cool box of mic's, Bro!
Great video Mike! I'm tempted to buy a box myself!
Thanks for sharing the unboxing of all these mics. I was hoping you'd find a vintage Neumann. Looking forward to seeing a review (and maybe comparison?) for these mics.
The C414 B-ULS is my favorite. The mid low is excellent.
No no, I bought a 414 ULS in the 2000s. Love that mic. Also have a EB version of it.
The empty bag is where the weed was lol
Thanks for the video!
22:00 Watching a man strike vintage mic gold never gets old
Also, that old MK-319 has gotta be worth a bit!
Mike, here are some useful things about some of those mics.
If you have any issues with the Unidyne SM57 that you got out of that box, there's likely some foam that has started to break apart and is now contacting the diaphragm.
I also have one of those ATM41s. I like it. The capsule on it is massive.
I'm SO jealous of the AKG C1000S
I had a chance to buy an AKG D1000E a few weeks ago. I turned it down because I didn't have time to research it before I left town.
The screen on those is sintered metal, which is basically what you get when you take metal beads and weld/glue them in that arrangement. If you have an air compressor, you'll see the same type of filter being used to keep dirt out of the pump and canister.
The MK319s are datable based on the types of screws that are found all over the body. There are some forums that I found to help date mine, I'll link it in discord if I remember where it is.
Cheers!
Now that's a SWEET HAUL!!! 😍😍😍
Wow! Please test them out! Would love to hear them.
This was great!
This was fascinating, I was a little nervous for you when you started pulling out bags of dusty clips, but you kind of made out!
This was fun. Hope the microphones - even that really abused one - all work and you can make use of them.
Nice haul! So much more fun than watching Storage Wars! Plus you should find out what that cool Sperry-Univac case is worth. I bet there are collectors for that vintage computer swag!!
Ive got to see you test some of these!
That was so cool … RIP Lou! ❤
I'm looking forward to hearing you record through that vintage AKG gem :)
This was a lot of fun! Thanks for going to all that trouble
Gotta wonder how many shows those mics have seen.... and the stories they could tell.
Great video! Please do a review of the Townsend labs L22 one day. I'd love to hear what you think. I've been watching your videos for awhile and you're one of the reasons I got a whisper room. 4x6 and love it. put hardwood floors in it.. game changer for dynamics. great snag with the 414!
Quick Tip: use Naphtha (or lighter-fluid) to easily remove sticky tape reside from gear! you’re welcome 😊
lighter fluid is miracle cleaner, learned from guitar repair book
Awesome purchase! Congratulations! A very interesting review! Hello from Russia!
That was radical dude!
AGH the last mic came out of nowhere! Love that series of mics!
Out of nowhere for sure. Thanks for watching!
im really glad for you that the c414 was in the box and the best thing of all it is an original one made in Austria
The grill on the AKG D1000E is "sintered" metal. Possibly aluminum. The process can be applied to almost any metal. Very surprised to hear you had no SM57s. I figured everybody had at least one of those. I was talking to another sound engineer the other day, and we both said that if we could have only one mic type in our mic locker it'd be SM57s. Love your videos, Mike. Thanks for all that you do for audio.
I don't know much about mics but that seemed like a damn good haul. Fun video Mike.
I'm excited for you for that c414. like daaaang
Congrats!
As a complete newby, It would be nice to see (Hear) how these different mics record the sound. And after processing, what the differences are between the cheap and the top of the range , and the vintage and the current mics are.
Nice vids by the way. Great “Bedside manner” 😃
Nice haul with that AKG 414, but I kept hoping you'd pull out a vintage Telefunken or Nenmann studio mic.
How cool i actually watched every second of this video 😆
I'm ready for the tests :)
I love this
Man what a steal!!!
congratulations!
Ooh, this was so fun!
Please keep us posted on the progress on all of these mics especially the really good ones. We all will be waiting.
I don't know when or why I subscribed to you, but I'm glad I did, your content seems interesting!
I'm glad you did to. Thanks for watching!
Sweet haul. The sm57 looks so small in your hands. You got some huge mitts, brotha.
Pretty cool bag-O-stuff.
That was fun, kinda like I was about to win something or opening a present sorta feeling.
I was nervous about you reaching into that box without looking. We have brown recluse and black window spiders around where I live.
Great stuff.
What a treasure trove.
Hello and thank You,
i would really like a voiceover test of some of the "stage" Dynamic mics, including the cheaper ones of course - i am curious how they sound - perhaps with some eq... Chris
I love an 80's Hollywood ending! 👏
The C414 B-ULS holds a special spot in my heart lol it was the first good mic that got gifted to my studio and someone broke it a few years later smh
Youre kidding. That akg at the end! Wow. Great buy!
