- Photographing a wolf, and preferably an artistic photo. That was the goal I set myself two years ago. But it turned out to become the most difficult goal I set for myself.
In this wildlife photography vlog I show you how I finally got what I have been working on for a long time. How I tracked them down, and how I camouflaged myself to stay hidden.

What a great reward for your perseverance Jeroen. I'm glad it's not only me that puts in endless hours in search of a specific shot. The feeling you have when all you rhardwork pays off is like nothing else. The walk back to your car with your gear over your shoulder with a huge smile on your face makes it all worthwhile. Persistence pays off in the end. Well deserved Jeroen. Handsome creatures indeed. You can see the power they have in their muzzles.
They are such awesome animals. Love 'm so much. Nature at its best. And best of all, they came back all by themselves and choose to live just 30km or so from my house. What more could I have wished for!

Beautiful docu on these wolves and what you put in, in order to get such video and photos. You production values seem to increase all the time. Voice over is real good. You also played with our emotions. I could feel the disappointment. Realistically, if you work in film, you will work with a team, who have radio and lots of cameras. It's quite a challenge doing it how you do it. Fantastic!

This vlog was hard to make, I waited almost half a year. I was afraid to make the vlog. As it was all so emotional to me... How could I ever make a vlog that would represent that well enough....
@@weylintracking-worldwide Emotion is not bad my friend. In fact it is good - & that is what makes your video because you don't hold back from letting us know how it is making you feel. Rode is working very well. Just be careful bot to get too close. Where it is - that is perfect. I am glad you stuck with this. It takes determination to log everything, know where it is, and continue with the project. Hey, I took my bike out and locked it up - had the carry it home because I left the key at home. I have my Skadi Zipper Mitt now - the most essential photography item for Scotland.
Bicycles are awesome! As long as you have your key indeed...

Ik zit nog in de fase van blijven volhouden. Ik probeerde al heel vaak bij ons in limburg. Maar buiten veel sporen nog geen wolf. Ben blij dat het jou wel gelukt is. Ik blijf proberen.
Blijven spoorzoeken, blijven puzzelen, en dan hopen dat alle puzzelstukjes op een dag samenvallen...

No thats the best thing, they came here all by themselves. In Germany the population have been going up to such numbers that slowly they entered the Neterhlands. Do not think that an animal like the wolf could ever be introduced here. It is simply too controversial...

Great video! Thank you for sharing the full story. It helps knowing the emotion behind it all but also that with wildlife photography, it really can take a lot of attempts before finally succeeding. I didn't know there were any wolves in Europe outside Scandanavia. Are they protected? What's the general opinion about them from people who aren't necessarily into wildlife? Curious how it compares to the U.S. Cheers from Maine, USA. :) Paula
Thanks so much Paula! Wolves are highly protected. But they are controversial, especially amongst farmers and hunters. One male wolf was illegally shot just a few weeks ago. Overall the majority of the population is positive. We need to learn to live with wolves again.
In Netherlands do the wolves come in winter only or can they be spotted in summer as well?
They do not hibernate, so they can be seen the whole year.

Klopt, dit is allemaal van de roedel waar reeds meerdere jaren welpen geboren zijn. Al die filmpjes van tv enzo zijn van deze roedel...
helaas lukt het mij niet via de link in de beschrijving op jouw jeroenkloppenburg.photography te komen... jammer.. wilde graag jouw gear bewonderen en kijken welke wildlife/camertrap cam je hebt....

Didn't realize you had Wolves over there Jeroen sadly do not think the powers that be here in the u.k. will tolerate free ranging Wolves killing financially valuable Deer stock.
Wolves are controversial here too Glenn.... The differenceis that here they could walk into the Netherlands all on their own. It would never be possiblew to have a release to built a new population... I hope for the best for the UK! I have bene in Scotland so many times, and the landscape is pretty desolate because of the overpopulation by red deer... The UK could gain so much by having wolves and lynxes back.
