    I just realized...had meg been left at the breeding facility Kev rescued meg and amy from when they got sold by the lion park, they would have thought Meg was infertile and probably sold her off for canned lion hunting or the bone trade 🥺😰 Thank you Kevin for fighting for and protecting such precious creatures ❤ #stopcannedlionhunting

      July 2024 I am new to the channel so I am just learning a little bit of the types of tragic circumstances that the lions were rescued from prior to coming to the sanctuary. I was wondering how mating had worked all of these years - what were Meg's reactions as well as the reactions of the mating male lions? The lions may sense it somehow.

      After reading through the comments to brace myself for what the news was. So I knew and was prepared. Then the way Kevin delivered and relayed the conversation between the Dr and Kevin. I laughed at the conversation itself. I love all of your animals. I Love Meg! ❤️ Always! ❤️❤️❤️

    She was Meg before the testing on her organs was done and she’s still Meg and will always be Meg the beautiful lioness to me. Meg’s wonderful personality is truly who she is no matter her gender. Kevin never disappoints in a video, he’s one amazing man.

    Oh thank goodness, I was in tears, I thought you were going to tell us Meg was sick!. When you told us that Meg is a boy, I laughed and laughed with tears of joy that Meg is ok and is a boy. Meg is loved no matter what the gender, Meg is just Meg and we love her too bits.

      I admit it’s hard seeing Meg without Amy but I love Kevin’s work and how much he loves these beautiful souls too much to stop watching this channel. My heart gets so full just knowing how much he is doing for the animals, and for us by going out there everyday and giving them, and us, his all🥰

      I know how you feel. I got sooooo attached to these lions so quickly and Amy’s death absolutely broke my heart. I have my monthly donations set up for them and check in now and then. I’m just today doing a bit of a binge because I’ve really missed Kev and the gang. I’m so stinking happy Meg is good!

      My understanding from an RN nurse is that it's a normal thing at birth for about one in every hundred. But there's enough room on Mother Gaia to love them all.

      I have a close family member who had Kleinfelter’s and we/he never knew until he tried to have children. She had a wonderful life because of you and she might not have in the wild.

      Yeah this happens rarely with humans too! All life is precious and Meg is just as special now as she was before we discovered this.

      @@Tyler-hk4wo Not as rare in humans as you may think. 1 in 500 to 1000 men are born with XXY conditions. I personally am one such man who has 47, XXY otherwise known as Klinefelter's. Was definitely a shock to hear Kevin say Meg might actually have something similar.

    I love Meg, at her age I was really worried about what you were going to say. My heart was in my feet waiting. But when you gave the news, I was surprised and glad she was okay. Don't care about her gender, she is and will always be your girlie. She lights up when you call her that.

    Omg, same thing happened to me…I named my stray cat Annie..took her to vet to have spade..I called to check on her…the doc said, Annie is an Andy..but we fixed him anyway..lol

      Spayed. The only thing I'd be concerned about is gender specific drugs for diseases being given incorrectly.

    When you said "I have some interesting news" I just knew that Meg, with that mane-growing incident, had been found to be an intersex lion. It doesn't matter. She's still Meg. What matters is that she's healthy and happy. We love our Meg.

    Buzz, buzz, buzz! Meg has always been, and will always be, an exceptional being. S/he is even more loved and respected based on this revelation. It does explain why Meg and Amy never accepted another male lion. A creature every bit as exceptional and loving as Kevin. What a perfect pair!

    Over a Decade CLOSELY hanging out with these Lions and Kevin does not even have a noticeable scratch on him...This will always Amaze me...The relationship he has with these Animals is Extraordinary...Lionesses even let him hold their Cubs...Trust and Love

    It seems as though her female hormones were more dominant even though male parts have been present all these years🧐
    Needless to say this is why it makes Meg even more of The One and Only! Beautiful Meggy😃

      @@michaeldavid6832 Other lions have definitely been born like this. Intersexuality is actually fairly common in the animal kingdom, and among humans as well. Most intersex animals are probably rejected as cubs, and most humans get *fixed* as infants (which is frankly quite a controversial subject) but it’s more common than you might expect

      Yes.
      She developped as female, not a male because of her case is super duper freaking rare. Barely ever happens.
      She is not XX or XY but XXY. 😆🤣🤣 She looks identical to her sister Amy.
      She's indeed a miracle.

    No matter what, Meg will always be one of our favorites❣️That does not change anything! We love her/him from the bottom of our ♥️ For a moment you scared us, and I was about cry as I feared it was gonna be bad news… But then we noticed your smile, and we knew Meg was okay!     I think this is wonderful news, because Meggie is healthy! Missed this super lovable lion with that cute tuft of hair that loves to jump on Kev! 7 mins in and I thought "could this be what Kev is leading to?" This is also a very intriguing phenomenon. I am curious to know why Meg never had mane until now and whether the uterus or the lack thereof was not noticeable. Thank you Kevin and team and take care!

      @@snitox Who’s mad? Sounds like you are. You’re ascribing human sociopolitical attributes to a biologically male animal who never ‘identified’ as anything other than what Meg is..it’s a Meg. Meg probably always knew she was male and this is why Amy was happy with her and any male Kevin tried to introduce ‘never forgave him’…genuine quote from Kevin. He even contemplated many times out loud how strange that was. Animals aren’t like humans and their many ‘identities’…she was a male with Undescended testes. Full stop.
