Guy singin' in the Disrupt shirt, I rode freight trains with that kid. Matt's an amazing musician. So is the rest of his band. Glad to see he found a group to play with him. I remeember when we were traveling, Yes Ma'am was just him and the random musicians who could play with him. Wonder where he's at now.
I'm going to new orleans in a couple months and stumbled across yes maam and Matt randomly while looking for street music and now I'm obsessed. Little worried because all of the videos seem to be from over 10 years ago. I know they just released a new album a few days ago but I'd love to know if they're gonna be in NOLA while I'm there.
@@sadiekins10 if I remember correctly I think he’s touring the west coast at the moment. I’m not 100% what his dates or tour even looks like, or if he’s just out there for the time being.
I can't stop watching this video. For the last twenty years or so I've been listening to music of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, thinking all great music has been done and kids these days have nothing to offer. This video proved me wrong. Feelin' Bob Dylan vibes from the look of this band. Love the heart in their music.
I dream with a place like this one in my country. Thanks for upload this video and a lot of thanks for this people who plays this great music in the streets. Gretts from Catalonia. Hope I'll go one day to Nova Orleans.
I love this version best...so glad this video was made of great quality. Must have been the acoustics in that area and the band just totally jived that day because this one rocked.
Just so much talent that jells into one fine sound. That little violinist just stole my heart with her sweet strings. Guess i need to get to the quarter more often. heyyyyyyyyy thats my wife's pink suitcase!!!!!! Choot em liz!!!
Wow that was great. I'm hooked. Brings back memories of me playing a tea box with a broom stick as a bass when I was a kid a looong time ago. Got to listen to you all again. Thanks Kevin
I saw this group at the French quarter festival this year. Awesome. How come the radio is filled with garbage that plays over and over, and not real talent like this?
The camera looks in on the dog resting his head on the street - essentially the world - when Matt is singing "the Weight of the World." The timing is perfect. ;)
At 4:14 when he hits the bell then pushes his suitcase kick drum back who else thought typewriter. Great song. Love these guys and have both of their albums.
Kind of a long shot especially considering this is a 10 year old post but any chance you guys have plans to play in NOLA in October? I stumbled across you guys and now I can't get enough. Already listened to the brand new album even...gonna order a copy ASAP. Really into the vibe and the sound, I can relate to a lot of the lyrics. Keep up the great work and I hope to see you when I'm in town!
dang man i saw them too and wish i stayed longer. I spent to much on burbon street the night before which must have been why i didnt get the album. Some one send it to me!
M Bracken Haha, yeah, I actually asked you about that lyric last year when I saw you guys on Royal. It may be head child, but it'll always be hedgehog to me. hahaha. Missed you this year during french quarter fest! Serenity now!
when you wanna make sure that you´re the boss lol great job all, buy specially to the guy singing playing guitar and drums, i can barely do one thing at time :v
found a web page that seems to be them and I see them selling $10 CD in all of the videos posted but I don't see where to order a CD...specially since I liver waaaaaaaaaaaay out here on the west coast in California. Anyone have a CD they want to sell or know of a site to purchase it from?
Where did the youth playing the 'bass' go . definitely a very talented group ,in particular the singer, nice to see such great talent doing it for the love of music ,rather than the money ,well done. pity the stones and the money grabbing beatles don't take a page from their book, infact neither of those groups would last a minute against the musicians.
