I don't think Joss Whedon is a garbage director at all. The "truth" you speak of has no weight to it. The actors for the most part performed really well under his direction and the movie we ended up getting was shortened so Marvel/Disney could get the most money from it. It's been a few years since I last watched The Avengers, but from what I remember is that it was praised across the board and was generally well recieved. The Avengers was a great movie. Age of Ultron didn't live up to the hype, but it in no way was a bad movie. Avengers 2 was a good movie, not a great movie. It's stupid to put all the blame on one guy for a movie not coming out better than it did. Joss had people to answer to and as a result he had to change the film. I do however think some of the hazing Joss is getting is legitimate, but getting blamed for AoU not being a good movie and being called a bad director is moronic. It's not even that bad of a movie. It has more to do with the fact that execs at Marvel give more of a shit about how they're going to profit more than strong plot lines and good character developement. In the end it all comes down to $$$. God help Phase 3 if this pattern continues.

Winter Soldier is the movie that got me into the MCU. I remember the first time I watched it, the final scene with Bucky & Cap made me so emotional even though I had only ever been a casual viewer of the preceding movies. It was and will always be my favorite.
This is what made this X men DOFP that good and unique and one of the greatest comic book movies ever made they didn't rely on fanservice nor the villains winter soldier was a great movie overall but the villain was mediocre dofp had a powerful villain but didn't have even 10 minutes but great as well screen time of the movie both these movies were driven by story characters acting and performances both these movies were nailed honestly both had a great story character development pacing action (dofp was more of an emotional film but still) cohesive storytelling and writing in my opinion both are a little bit more solidly made than the dark knight and on par if not slightly better these two movies should have influenced the genre not guardians style because every movie has to be like it and this is one of the reasons why we got movies like age of ultron suicide squad and josstice league

That shot of cap jumping 2:11 is one of those key superhero moments that made me fall in love with this genre since first spiderman, sudden colored character jumping to action while surroanded by grey and dull "real" world. Makes me think to the core what superheros meant to my childish mind then and what it means to me now.
