I cannot remember ever stopping a Gene Kelly dance routine before it has finished. It is always worth watching. Of course it doesn't hurt that Carol is also worth looking at.
I don't think Gene's age became an embarrassment until 'Xanadu', but there was so much else in it to embarrass us. Funnily enough, his rather croaky voice began to signify the passing years sooner, though he had to pace himself after the knee injury from his skiing accident in 1958.
