This wonderful song is based off the book "Jane Eyre", written by Charlotte Brontë, member of the Brontë family, in 1847. There have been several film adaptations, some of which are on YT. I watched the 1997 film on YT yesterday and loved it, it's the most interesting love story I've ever known of. I recommend watching the film (the 1997 adaptation or another one) to all of you.
i haven’t made the connection because i’ve already bought the romance line of the story. aka i am couple’s team. and the mad woman in the song sounds like the righteous character and i was suddenly siding with her so it totally sideblinded me. what an amazinh talent zora has, that she made me to be fan of mad character!
And there is huge book called "Madwoman in the Attic", one of the best examples of feminist literary criticism. It focuses on the role of female in Victorian novel. (Surely, it also examines Bronte Sisters)
If you've read "Wide Sargasso Sea" by Jean Rhys, the "Madwoman"'s name is Antoinette Cosway, before she becomes the first Mrs Rochester. Needless to say, this is a gorgeous acoustic version of what was already a superb song.
You are seriously one of the most amazing vocalists I have ever heard and every time I hear you sing these acoustic songs, it reinforces the fact that you fully deserve to be where are today. I love this version of this song!
