As I am watching WM Phoenix , I see every pro player does the exact head movement that you are describing . Fantastic stuff. Will follow your instructions
Your instruction is resonating with me. Appreciate the details in every lesson. My problem is inevitably I resort to my dominant hand (baseball swing) and causes all sorts of problems, and inconsistencies. Possible to do a lesson on checkpoints you can refer to during round that keep dominant hand from taking over? Thanks.
The thing I admire about your videos is many instructors say .....do this once or twice and you'll be wacking the ball like (insert your favorite pro here). You contend that 100-150 reps is what it takes to groove a path. These points take repetition and practice. It's not a 5 minute fix. Thanks for not giving false hope by saying ....just do this for two minutes and.......... I've been working on your tips in my living room every day. I hope, and am pretty sure it will make a difference this summer.
We don't learn new movement patterns fast unfortunately. We all have to go through the biological processes of change which some people will swear they can override it. Thanks for the support and following the videos. I appreciate your commentary for sure!
Ditto. What do we see from the most popular sites? The "magic move" or "secret move" of a specific player, past or present. "This will knock 10 strokes off your game" "guaranteed to make more putts." & that doesn't include the golf industry lying to us day after day, year after year with their fantastic claims so we'll go out & buy the latest & greatest driver guaranteed to cure what ails you off the tee for the bargain price of $600 that you'll sell on Ebay before next year for $400 or less to someone who also believed the hype from the manufacturers. What a racket! If you want to spend your hard-earned $600, spend it for lessons, hopefully who won't fill your brain with 10 different thoughts before every swing. Good luck finding that person. Over the years, I've had 4 & the 1st one helped me the most. After that, I knew as much as the person I was paying to help me improve. In fact, just today while at the range sitting on a bench near someone being given a lesson by 1 of those I took lessons from many years ago & I kid you not, I couldn't believe what I was seeing from the student & hearing what the "pro" was telling them." He should have been paying THEM for the lesson. I've learned more about the swing over the past 18 months here on RUclips than I did from 4 supposed pros who've been teaching for a long time. I can't imagine how they get away with it.
I’m taking online lessons from Chris. The change has been remarkable. Scoring average has gone from 79.5 to 75 and I’ve only been taking lessons for a month! We haven’t started the downswing sequence. I may start before he lets me! lol.
Do you have any videos where you explain your theory on ball position? You recommend having the ball slightly farther forward than most instruction I've seen.
I know I have one on the website. I’m not sure about the channel though. If you see any videos that discuss low point on my channel, that will more than likely discuss it. I’ll look around and report back.
Your 1st few sentences definitely sums up the problem with today's instructors. Do we believe that all of the greats were taught all of the small details we're getting today? How did they accomplish learning the game so well without all of the technical lingo & technology we have today? Overall scoring hasn't changed much other than the occasional 59 or even 58 that happened once. They did it with wooden drivers & fairway clubs that are at least a third smaller than today's that obviously gave them much less room for error & without the violent swings of today's younger players who are taught to hit it as hard as you can & the result, in too many cases are injuries to backs, shoulders, wrists, necks & muscles. No swing coaches traveling with them or making special trips to wherever the player might be, along with sports psychologists, launch monitors giving them every possible piece of data available. Bowed wrists, flat wrists, etc. Tee it up & swing & don't analyse every movement of every body part that might cause a bad shot. Probably the last player to do that is Bubba Watson who's self taught, has won majors & is a true joy to watch hit pretty much any shot you can imagine & usually pull it off. He wasn't a consistent winner but certainly more entertaining. In Chris, it's nice to have the swing explained in understandable terms without all of the BS that 99.9% of us couldn't do on our best day. Truly refreshing.
Had to read it a couple of times to make sure I was understanding everything properly. The biggest issue I see with instruction is the lack of training in anatomy and kinesiology as well as a complete disregard for the biological processes that must take place to change a real movement pattern. We can find a good balance for each player out there but there’s an artistic sort of approach that goes along with it because everyone is vastly different.
Ugggh. I have been following along and your instruction has been working well for me. All of a sudden I can start out practicing making beautiful shots. Then suddenly the shanks show up. I cannot diagnose its cause. This can be frustrating!
The shanks are no bueno!!! If you’re adding something from this video and your ball striking has changed, then, I’d probably stop working on it asap and start looking at the golf swing from down the line and see if your hitting this shot from the inside or from over the top. Then report back and I’ll help you understand why this could be happening.

Absolutely. I have some content I’m working on that will train the more dominant side how to behave itself.
