i am going to submit some of my Magic LOTR cards next mth for grading with BGS and this video certainly helped a lot. One thing I would do as an extra precaution is put the submission slip into a thin plastic sheet to protect it from coming into contact with water just in case. Thank you
Personally I use card savers with etb sleeves. The etb sleeves slip out soo easily and the card savers open wide enough to get your fingers in them to pull the card out. Ohhh I also put a piece of cardboard between EACH card 😅. Grading with CGC they recommend cardboard between each card it's been a habit of mine ever since.
My question is how do I know my estimated value? I have several cards that are actually probably grade 10 but some sites say they are in the $200 range and some say above $2000 and even higher.
AWESOME VIDS BUD QUESTION,can one clean the cards or leave as one gets them as all my cards are pack fresh yet ive heard that its good to clean them before sending them out if so is there a cleaning kit recommended before sending cards to get graded,Tha ks
If they are pack fresh, there’s probably no need to clean them. I’ve mostly just used a microfiber cloth on some of my vintage cards that had some dirt on them. I’ve never used a cleaning kit personally.
Honestly, in my opinion you can enter it either way. It’s basically helping them calculate how much insurance to put on your assets. So if they lose your order or their warehouse burns down, how much would you want them to compensate you? If it’s a card you can easily replace in the same condition raw, I’d just go by around the raw price. But if it’s one you think could black label, I’d value it at least at the 10 last sold. But you don’t want to overvalue them too much because they will charge you more for insurance once you meet certain value thresholds, so you can mess with the numbers based on what you want to pay. That being said, I’ve never had to file a claim, so maybe someone who has would have a different opinion, but this is the way I approach it.
Can you still submit to bgs in paper form. So last time I sent to bgs 2 years ago I did the paper form and declared my value but the portion under insurance I put down have my own so didn’t pay. Is there way of doing this with the online form?? I have the insurance partnered with Beckett (cis) and all my collection is covered through shipping so don’t want to pay “insurance” for shipping since I already have that covered. But Incase something happens at the bgs facility I would like my cards to be covered if they mess up a $10k card.
I just sent 6 cards in with DV of 7,700. Order itself was the cheapest part at 35$ per card. Insurance came out to about 300$ just for the beckett processing and shipment back to me. Cost me a out 250$ Insurance coverage just to ship it. Total around 600$ just for Insurance and payment.
Hey Luke, I could be wrong but I think the "Declared Value" is for the return shipping on the cards. If you think a card could grade a 9 or a 10, then putting the value of what that card would be worth in the slab in case those cards go missing - to help protect the consumer at the end of the day. Awesome vid!
I usually use raw value too because what if you get a black label just gonna assume every card is worth $1000+? Sure there's the chance of losing out on the grade value upon return but beats paying 3 or 4 times the amount to grade the card for a big maybe.
@@gunshinestatee Yeah I’d never assume any would black label but I definitely want my value back if the shipment is lost… so i generally go with a mint 10 or 9 on the value. As long as you don’t go over $1000 the insurance is the same.
I’m done with Beckett. Got my submission back and sub graded for my neo discovery tyranitar centering-8 surface-9.5 corners-10 edges 9.5. Final grade 8.5. Like wtf!! Base set venusaur was centering 9.5 corners 9 surface 5.5 edges 9 final score 6.5 Birthday pikachu centering 9.5 corners 6.5 edges 9 surface 8.5 final grade 7.5 What’s funny is I cracked the pikachu PSA 9 and Venusuar PSA 9 and just wanted them in BGS slabs. Nothings wrong with corners or surface I have no idea and zero explanation for why the random horrible grade on each one when the other subs was right on line with what it should be. I don’t get it
thanks for the reply man. I checked everywhere on my gmail but didn’t receive any confirmation from Beckett. I tried emailing and calling them but no luck. I did pay a lot for this sub, so idk what to do
@@greyhat600 if I’m not mistaken, I don’t think they charge you until they’ve received the package. I think the main purpose of submitting the form is to generate the packing slip, so if you don’t send in the first sub/packing slip, I don’t think it even gets processed. For that reason, as annoying as this is, you may want to try resubmitting online and just double-check your email address. But that’s just my understanding - definitely try and confirm that if you can.
@@LegendofLuke ya this makes Beckett look pretty good! I know shipping mistakes happen but I guess I’m willing to risk the biscuit when only submitting a couple hundred bucks in cards. Always feels like companies nickel & dime you during the process
Thank Thank you so much for this informative tutorial on card grading with Beckett, it was incredibly helpful! Greetings from France!👍
Bonjour! Glad you found it helpful!

Glad it helped! Yeah, that certainly isn’t a bad precaution to take.
Thanks. PSA explained details of packaging and shipping. But, becket website doesn't show any and I was confused. In the end. it looks similar to PSA.
how do you show pictures of the card ur submitting? on PSA the picture shows but not on beckett when filling out. why
on psa the picture shows but on beckett there is not card image when selecting the card. why

I send mind to BGS since middle of March. It supposed to take 2 to 3 months come back. Hopefully it get back end of May or middle of June 😩
why does the picture not show when doing the online form to submit the cards

So we want to put the declared value of the raw card or what you think the card will be worth after grading? Seen people do different things

Can I use a etb sleeve for my Pokémon card instead of a penny sleeve for beckett

Hi I don't think you mentioned whether or not you need a paid membership for this, thanks
There’s no membership required for Beckett, which is an aspect I like
not sure about the pull tabs, as psa specifically says to NOT use them. not sure about beckett, but cgc and psa dont like them.
Can you link the stuff you used for shipping
What do you write on the box you put all the stuff in?
What do you mean?
@@LegendofLuke like a mailing address or something?
I guess what I’m trying to ask is how does the postal system know where to send the box?
@@OpTicLoadOut Beckett will provide you with the address for where to send.

Sending vintage to beckett is stupid lol ots for modern cards goofy
Yeah should only be used for new cards, new cards will always have better QC.
Is there a membership requirement fee?
No there’s not.
@LegendofLuke ok thank you 😊
Hi what if you don’t get the email confirmation? Can I still send it with the Sub number?
I’m pretty sure you need the email in order to download the packing slip to include.

on pirate ship do we just put the name as Beckett
do you buy insurance from shipping company when you sending your cards to beckett?
Not usually, but probably should.
@@LegendofLuke im sending a cards worth $5000 all total, and Im not sure if the shipping company can insure a TCG
Where do we get are shipping label ?
You have to buy it separately from the post office. Or I use a service called Pirate Ship.
Bro show when u take it to the
Mail box
Helpful stuff! Wish they didn’t do the self-assessed value / insurance deal

I’m just glad they don’t up-charge based on value - it’s such a scam to me that PSA does that.

What is the first option??? 10$ thank you for the info
Its acutall really expensive if your cards have any value.
