You would have to have no pulse to not move and groove to this icon song of the 70's. Still as fresh today as it was then. Boz--awesome--that's all--awesome.
On this day in 1976 {September 25th} Boz Scaggs performed "Lowdown" on the NBC-TV program 'Saturday Night Live'... Two months earlier on July 4th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #3 and spent 22 weeks on the Top 100... It reached #28 on the U.K. Singles chart... The song won the 1976 Grammy Award for 'Best Rhythm & Blues Song'... Mr. Scaggs, born William Royce Scaggs, celebrated his 69th birthday three months ago on June 8th...
Boz made one phone call to the porcaro brothers and David paich. It was the best phone call he ever made the porcaro's and paich brought everything in the whole house. Boz got silk degrees out of it.
One of most beautiful songs of the 70's and if I was to live a other hundred years, we would hear this song,,,,and appreciate how great this music and sound is!!
How can this can be performed better. This is why the Lord gave us music ! Groove, passion, perfect harmonies, the master voice's masterpiece. Thank you Mr. Scaggs.
Who can write enough praise, enough acknowledgment of skillful and brilliant musicianship to ever applaud this fantastic this Apex of pop and blues and r&b. It is a good thing there is music oftentimes words are insufficient
this is truly one of Boz signature music. i never get tired of listening and watching this performance. iconic music and performance of the band with orchestra .
I wouldn't have fancied being the drummer on this and having to play the groove laid down by the brilliant Jeff Porcaro. But he does and makes a great job of it. Chapeau !!
He's bad'ess Cat and nicest I met him several times gives you his time , best coolest soulful and bad ass lyrics drums guitars and strings this song, Of course Harbor lights love song !
+MrTeatreeoil check out some of the remixes of lowdown and lowdown for me is my anthem song to girl did me wrong in 1976 and girl I fell infatuated with 1977 was Harbor lights and yes I took her summer 77 see his concert in Berkley CA that was special night for me and the continuation of lowdown song is his 2001 Desire check it out still bad ass cut got blues funk and Boz's soulful voice and lyrics Ps wonderful safe holiday season !!!
He has other songs just as great: JoJo, The Vanishing Point, Breakdown Dead Ahead, and slow songs: Look What You've Done to Me, We're All Alone, Isn't It Time, and others. Also check out "Georgy Porgy" and "99" by ToTo.
I was 17 when I bought the silk degrees album and an 8-track to boot. I played it so much in my TR7 till it warped. A classic album. I’ve seen the Bozman a dozen or so times and he opened each show with lowdown.
this is outstanding - just one reservation on the otherwise exemplary guitar solo: Drew Zingg doesn't end it on time. At 3:03 he should have closed it out for the trumpet, but he seems to be continuing on.
If nothing else, he should be put in the RRHOF to perform the songs: LowDown, JoJo, Look What You've Done to Me, You Can Have Me Anytime, Isn't It Time, and We're All Alone at the ceremony.
Simply one of the best artists & songwriter and performers of our era Timeless music as well as musician. Bozz Scaggs

I was 17 when I bought the silk degrees album and an 8-track to boot. I played it so much in my TR7 till it warped. A classic album. I’ve seen the Bozman a dozen or so times and he opened each show with lowdown.
Unusual set of musicians for him.
Who are they?
I recognise Drew Zingg on guitar.
Cornelius Bumpus on woodwinds (flute). He toured with Steely Dan and was a member of the Doobie Brothers.
this is outstanding - just one reservation on the otherwise exemplary guitar solo: Drew Zingg doesn't end it on time. At 3:03 he should have closed it out for the trumpet, but he seems to be continuing on.
Boz is boss yall. #kissmeparty
Why is Zach Galifianakis playing trumpet?
Drew Zingg there on guitar
That guy is monstrous!!
Who's the drummer?
Methinks Dennis Chambers
Zack Galifiniaikis on trumpet 😂
If nothing else, he should be put in the RRHOF to perform the songs: LowDown, JoJo, Look What You've Done to Me, You Can Have Me Anytime, Isn't It Time, and We're All Alone at the ceremony.
Sounds good just a little slow though, needs to be a bit faster.
Tempo is too slow
