Wow, you must be super young. Because a lot of the things you said “I don’t know” to is common knowledge for a lot of collectors and for people that went to blockbuster 😂 As for the quality of those DVDs, whoever you bought them off of must’ve buffed them, so I’ll the scratches came out
Widescreen is featured because fullscreen was the former standard format. Fullscreen has the 4:3 aspect ratio of an old bulky tube tv. Widescreen is 16:9. Widescreen became the most common aspect ratio in about 2009 or so in the US.
I’ve bought a lot of vcr players over the years from goodwill. I lot of them have had that problem of not properly ejecting the tape or the film tape being off track to where it’s not completely free for it to retrieved. I’ve lost 4 vhs tapes that way. It usually means a component broke off inside or the the tray slot is badly warped to where the tape and/or the film tape can’t be released
There was a Sheetz local to me (kind of in a obscure location) that had one of those Blockbuster rental kiosks back in 2008/2009, probably the only one I ever knew about.
I have a few of these cases in my game collection. With the blockbuster logo and the name printed on it. It’s always fun to see them. When I was collecting DVDs I always replaced the blockbuster cases. A buddy got my three bags of regular cases out of the trash at the local blockbuster. Freaking awesome cases for years. Still have a couple. Fun stuff 3:53 years ago.
Man, what a throwback! I remember having to use the enormous book that Blockbuster had which was like a manual IMDB. If you wanted to look up movies by a director or something there wasn’t much else out there at the time. Aw memories.
I had that exact vcr. Pulled it out a few months ago and it did the exact same thing and ate my tape. It’s a cheaply made model I bet. Time to hunt for Blockbuster game cases next.
Seriously I still use my DVD/VCR combo with my VHS collection from time to time still works and you don’t need online or update to use the disk drive 20 years later.
For the record I blame the government for why you don't ACTUALLY see them anymore because they wanna force this all digital age down our throats this HAS to stop!
I used to work for Blockbuster. The texture made it easier to stack movies without them sliding around.
Ohh 🤔

I worked for Blockbuster back in the day in the UK. We would call the pre-viewed movies ex-rentals.

Owning a blockbuster movie is nostalgic. Almost every 2000's kid had one

I am planning to watch most of these DVDs and VHS videos online like if I bought this Blockbuster pack.

Nostalgia never gets old.
For the thing with the tape at the end, the same thing happened to me with one of my tapes but when I put it back in and rewinded it so now it works
