    GOOD SESSION THANKS

I've been running the numbers and also talking to GOF and Simplified who say SVOL is holding up while GOF is being traded down with market
Im headed in to a triangle of GOF-SVOL-IEP and then down the road to: SVOL - IEP, after GOF recovers, which I expect in time , divi seems safe at GOF form what they said

Dividend has been solid for 15+ years. Yep those 3 are good choices 👍🏽

Fun fact, GOF is the Gutenberg that went down with the Titanic.

Haha, I know lol it was actually Mr. Guggenheim, who I think was opposed to the creation of the Federal Reserve the following year. Interesting historical facts.

while GOF management cant sell they implied it was a good buying window and they reiterated the divi

GOF has pretty consistent dividends for over a decade. Only thing I hate about GOF is the broker fee of 1.83 which is insane! What will happen to SVOL in a low interest environment Bull market, which is coming soon! Also I can see SVOL has some capitol appreciation but GOF seems kind of flat. I am going to take a large position in SVOL as soon as Tesla reaches 300 a share, I did a trailing stop on Tesla this AM as its shooting up because Tesla just got upgraded at Moody from Junk to Investment grade. Fed meets in the AM and hopefully no rate hikes, which the market will love.

Yeah I'm thinking (hoping) SVOL will stay consistent. I sunk some funds into it today. You're selling Tesla at $300?

      Im with you on TSLA

@@thbfinance I sold 610 shares at 199.88 on a trailing stop order, did pretty good. Put some into JEPQ, JEPI and BST. Bought 2311 shares of SVOL AT 21.64. So getting 740 a month from SVOL. I am going to add much more when I do a sale at 300 for Tesla. Its a very slow progress, but eventually I want the div to match my pension. Also remember on all these ETF that have large Div you have to feed the beast to make them grow. So I put back around 10 percent a month in each ETF and its a pain because Ameritrade only lets you DRIP a 100 percent in or nothing. I called Ameritrade to complain and they said live with it, do it manually.

ratio of price vs diivis SVOL TO GOF says it all

One issue with the GOF CEF is of the $0.1821 monthly dividend, $0.1179 is just Return of Capital (ROC). GOF is not covering their Distribution from their investments. They have partly been covering the Distribution by selling more shares, diluting the stock value. I owned it in the distant past but would not now, as it is a long term Capital Gain loser.

Interesting points! Where do you see those details, on their site? I like SVOL best.

    • @sdrs95a
      @sdrs95a Год назад +1

@@thbfinance Fidelity & Morningstar have the same ROC distribution information.
Plus I have owned and/or followed GOF for about 15 years.

@@thbfinance Another issue with GOF, the Lead Manager for the CEF died in January 2023 after running the fund for about 15+ years, he was very respected. Are the remaining Managers as good, don't know.
SVOL is very new, while no ROC, yet, if they pay a 17% Distribution, I do not see how they can maintain that return year after year of paying it out. I think SVOL is going to have the same issue as GOF, if you cannot make 17% per year from investments, then you have to cut the dividend a lot, or have long term Capital Gain Losses.
If SVOL pays out Distributions of 17% but makes say 11% (11% just for example), then where is the other 6% coming from each year. This is the issue with High Yield investments, they cannot keep up these payments, esp. 17%.

Thank you for your very informative video, I just bought SVOL (4570 shares) after watching your channel, I just wanted your opinion about something I just came across today about XIV fund which worked on the same principle as SVOL but it collapsed on Feb 2018 and investors lost all their money, what is your take on this. Is SVOL better guarded. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
