A new Chinese film about the Korean War is currently in post production. The film is based on a true story and tells the story of Allied prisoners of war in Chinese prisoner of war camps participating in the prisoner of war Olympics organized by the Chinese military. The movie is called the Olympics in a prisoner of war camp, and I am very excited.

With that medivac pod & lifting crane on the side of the helicopter, that appears to be a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital helicopter, they carry doctors to provide 1st aid to injured troops. It would have been a bit more accurate if it was a combat helicopter with rocket pods, that at least would explain why it carried armed soldiers & not doctors. But as far as I'm aware, there were no attack helicopters employed in the Korean War. But they did have them as scouts, & these didn't have evac pods to keep them nimble & light. The explosion were too small. They would be more dramatic if it was bigger explosions, these were after all 500 & 250 high explosive pound bombs. These would have bee large explosion that would have burst open the ice on the lake, killing score of Chinese troops.

Let's do the math here,6 bombs per aircraft plus 6 .50 caliber machine guns per aircraft. I doubt anyone would be left alive. And if you dropped the bombs on the advancing head of the run, you'd have the added effect of opening up the lake making the run impossible and a perfect strafing run. Also the 500 pounders didn't make much of an explosion in the movie, real life it would have been about 20 times bigger.

It is supposed to conquer the world - export war (including the conquest of Taiwan - rape, plunder, and seize profits 3. Bombs would have probably penetrated the ice and created a depth charge effect which would have catered the ice.
