Lyrics
I close my eyes I start to slide
Somewhere I think too far
To hide my fear, I draw you near
Don't want to close my eyes, eyes
And now things glow, the Christmas snow
Some water in a glass
My cigarettes the day we met,
I hope this does not last
And the sun is shining bright today
I don't think I can look
The TV, on my memory gone
The last thing that I took
Chorus:
Dangerously, I'll always want you
Dangerously, I'll always want you
The phone it rings. Will nothing bring
Me any piece of mind
I cast you out
You caught me first
(it was a real find)
And I
Answer now so cautiously, when
Anyone's to call
I smile to say it's all okay
And hide a blemished wall
Chorus
Just like a wild one tamed,
Somebody calls my name
And I look,
Today I start to go,
Into a place they know as madness
Another blow, affection grows
Upon a weary face.
I'll take you in, I'll let you win
In this unholy place
Dangerously
I've been looking for this song since the 80s! Heard in the wee hours of the morning on 99.1 WHFS-FM or 89.7 WCVT-FM in the Baltimore area! Nice!
I lived in Rockville and remember listening to WHFS and buying this album in seconds!!!
That's where I heard it and only heard it that one time...
Temporarily languishing away in suburban D.C. (Mt. Rainer)
I even called in to the station afterwards to ask the DJ who was that out front on the trumpet. I had just watched Miles' new band on the television show "Fridays" and thought it might be him.
@@kidmack3556 I was a big fan of her first album and purchased this one when released. The tunes are very different from the first LP but I love them. Very lush music.
Holly did some pretty bad ass stuff - WHFS originally too!
I also heard it on HFS. I have the album I found it somewhere online. such a great sound.
I'm sure it was WHFS when it was 102.3 in B-Town (sorry, Bethesda, MD) Miss Milo, Bob Here, Damien, even David...lol.. Loved this song for SO many reasons..
Living in D.C. burbs for a short time when this came out.
I called the station to find out "who blew" because I thought it was part of Miles' comeback.
Even David? He probably played it the most. :) I loved the station too.
Such an awesome song. I love me some Holly!
Timeless
Love that tragically hip sound! Almost every song on this album is a beautiful slice of her soul. She/they should have been huge...
I know this one from 'HFS and WCVT too. I have it on cassette but I'm not sure which station I recorded it off of.
how come no one knows this tune, it's great
It's one of the only "NuWave" tunes I did know.
Couldn't find a cassette back then, or I would've had it.
How could anybody down vote this?
once again, what the fuck is wrong, this is great, thank you for giving us this song
She's performing in LA in January 2019 ❤️ Look up the event on Facebook ✨
Most listening know she inspired the incredible Romeo & Juliet song created by Mark Knoffler of Dire Straits. Also, the main riff is Led Zep's "The Wanton Song"
Feast your ears! Eat your fears!
Dig those horns
102.3 Still saving our ears from the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune! Ah. B-Town before the hostile takeover by big money
is this Holly's solo album?
