As an adult man I've always shared my life with dogs, my best friends, the very heart of the house, each different from the others and with a soul of their own. Each of them taught me something important. Lost some of them along the way, most of them got old and tired and the last snapshot of their lives has been the warm and caring and loving face of their human daddy. If I could choose where to go after I die, my personal paradise would be a place where all my beloved and precious creatures are. I would get there all of a sudden, call them and pet them one by one. Their souls would talk to me and forgive me for all the time I neglected them and would teach me true and unconditional love.

Otherwise he would have waited for us on the other side. Your best friend would eventually eat your your body if you died at home and nobody found you for a week. Dogs are only because we feed them. Everything else we think dogs do is just us gaslighting ourselves into believing they care about us. I do believe dogs are here for us to gain deeper spiritual understanding of ourselves and our true being. Everything dogs do is simply for a free meal.
My........"Allergies" will sometimes start Acting Up too, especially when I'm watching stuff like this. Don't know what else could cause it.... There's a relatively recent(Made In 2018) Movie, called "Alpha" that deals with this same subject, but in a different way. I Highly recommend "Dog Lovers" such as you and I, take the time to watch "Alpha". It's Well Done, and the Cinematography Is Excellent. Give it a Look See, and let me know how you liked it. @@P-Bear1632 At my age I try to have plans in place to Take Care of my Dogs, when I no longer can. Live without just One Dog? I don't think so. I need their Love in my life
Dogs are amazing! My husband and I have had large working dogs all of our life. They all had jobs, they lived with us in our home and slept with us. We trained them, they hung our with our chickens and protected them and they protected us. They understood my words and hand signals. They have been retrievers bringing back the birds, an art gallery greeter saying hello to everyone who came in and the current rescue (the smart dog of them all) we have now is my emotional support dog. They are loyal and loving and SMART!
While watching this documentary, I thought, ‘I’ll just stop watching when it becomes uninteresting.’ But it never did. Watched the whole, darned thing! So well done!

As an 18 year old, I was a diamond prospector for de Beers in the Kalahari in Botswana. I adopted a dog for this reason. Sleeping in my tent with me, he would be able to warn me of a snake or any other danger. When he was full grown, he came on our 11 mile prospecting traverses. Again, he could sense danger long before we humans could. What an ally and what a comfort to me
Well, we did create them or at least mold them to suit, so it’s good that we’re happy with the results. Dogs are rather wonderful but I’m rather lazy (and intermittently ill) so I have a cat instead.
My profile pic is Boomer. He is a rescue. He failed a couple of adoptions. He was hit by a car and in a high kill shelter and a few hours from that fate before we adopted him. Still makes me sad to think about that happening even though it didn't. The happiest person I've ever met is this dog. I'm not sure if my wife and I rescued him or if he rescued us. He was so timid and afraid that this would be another rejection when we got him and 5 years later HE owns the place and we are the staff. He's the Best Dog Ever but, they all are. Thanks for this doc. Yeah, the world is a much better place for having dogs in it.
@@karishadkit27 he's my shadow. he's right over there staring at me and wanting a bit of chicken. The rescue that we got him from put several thousand dollars into him and he is the happiest person I know.
Lord Byron wrote a famous eulogy for his beloved dog. George Vest wrote a famous closing statement about a dog and won a civil suit from the emotion it stirred in the jury. Even Jimmie Stewart talked with great affection about his pet retriever that had died on the Johnny Carson show. There's something about a dog that lifts our soul and warms our hearts.
About three years ago I was involved in a death defying car accident. A crazed driver broadsided my car on the passenger side at approximately 80 MPH. I was rushed to the nearest hospital that would be equipped to handle the seriousness of my injuries. This happened on a Saturday afternoon; we were on our way home from the dog park when, boom! I lost my dog, I nearly died and subsequently, I was left with painful injuries...so there I was, after a month in hospital, home "recuperating," no car, no dog, and man, was I miserable. I scared myself, contemplating suicide (not really, but the thought was there), when the phone rang. It was my friend, Tim, with news of a German Shepherd on the way to the Animal Shelter because the owner is moving and cannot take such a big dog along. Max was four years old, a perfect gentleman, and he was my miracle dog - he saved my life. Man's best friend? I should say so! 🐕🦺🥰

A completely touching video forvsomeone who has effectively never been without the company of a four legged friend for life. I truely pity anyone who has not had the chance to feel the love these animals can give and the ability to pass on a sence of taking up the chalenge of life. I cannot picture the day when i dont see that cheerful face full of expectancy, something everyone should have the chance of sharing. In many ways i look at it that they have a lot more common sence than we have ourselves in the places where it most important.

I've just watched this documentary and I've cried so much ! I lost my mum last year and the main thing she taught me was the love and respect for all animals, dogs first. I've always had one of them around. I'm now 40 and I got Arya, my little big baby 6 years ago. I love her so much from the depth of my heart. I'm her mother and so act this way. I feed her, I play with her, I give her all the daily cares she needs. When she disobeys, I yell at her. But if someone, one day, decides to mess around with her, to hurt her in any sort of way, he/she/it will have to come across my fury first !!!
@@froggo_cat And not only that, they actually lack the drive to betray you, their number one motivation is loyalty, even dogs who are treat badly but get the odd stroke will still side with the owner for the merest amount of affection and attention, it’s awful to witness, us humans are just a cancer upon the face of this beautiful earth.

My service dog has woken me from many night terrors. He has always let me know if I'm going to have a panic attack. He gives me the precious time to prepare myself, and to put myself into a safer situation and environment. If it's going to happen while in a store, I have time to let someone know, and they generally give me a place to privately go through the attack. And if I'm driving, he gives me time to pull off the road and put up my window sign, just incase a highway patrol, or other law enforcement pulls in behind me. They read the letter, and allow me to go through it, and checks to make sure I'm ok before letting me move along. Bear is my best friend, and I don't think I would be here without him.
I'm not ashamed to admit it , I love 99.9% of Dogs over 99.9% of Humans. Thank you God for creating Dogs for us to love and enjoy life would truly suck without Dogs. Long live Dogs and their beautiful souls. I really hope my Heaven is with all my family , family Dogs from all of my life , and all my friends.
Best friend I ever had was my dog, Frost, when I was about 14. We would go for runs on my bike. I would give him about 18 inches of leash (the rest wrapped around my handlebars) and he would walk/trot and even full run and always keep his shoulder about 10 inches from the front of my bike wheel… Even when going from one side of the street to the other. And I wouldn't have even used a leash if he didn't have a habit of losing his mind whenever he saw a rabbit. He didn't care where he was or what we did, as long as we were together. That was 40 something years ago and I still miss him.
What a fantastic documentary! I have a great love for all animals, but the dog is not a pet; it is a family member, your most loyal of friends that will love you unconditionally and will never judge you, It is a friend to have and take care of, for he will be doing just that as well!

Meet Lara, the one in the photo with me. She's actually my girlfriend's female dog and she won me over. She is the one who came to me and insisted I caressed her as if she were saying: 'You don't know what you are missing'. She even talked to me making small grunts so I finally decided to hear. Since then we have become best friends. Whenever I come home she is the first to greet me and insists on me caressing her neck for hours on end, until she is tired and lays down. whenever I pass by her her tail wiggles and I know she wants to be cuddled. Our bond has become so strong even my girlfriend has grown jealous of our relationship. But with dogs it's just different: they know exactly what you need and who you are and they give it all to you freely. Sometimes I wonder if dogs are not more spiritually developed than us.

I've owned dogs for all 41 years of my life, from puppy to that final day & it never gets easier but the time in between it what makes it all worth while. I never try to replace one that has gone but I always get another puppy or two & start over & I've never been disappointed by the new friendships. I still think about the ones I've lost over the years but the love & fun you've once had is just waiting for you again in the form of another little fluff ball! Go get one or two & that void will be filled.

You could also consider adopting a senior. It cures two broken hearts at the same time and is generally smoother sailing than dealing with “teething troubles.” I highly recommend it!
This documentary really brought a tear to my eyes. Reminded me of my faithful dog. When he died some 30 years ago, I couldn't bear to have another one.
When my Old Rowley died I swore I would never have another dog, to painful when they die. Had Rowley with me for 22 years (yeah, I know they are not supposed to live that long but he did), longer than I had my wife and two kids, my son was 19 years old when Rowley went to the RAINBOW BRIDGE. I went 5 years before I realized that life without a dog isn't living, IT'S JUST EXISTING; marking time. Left work early on a Wednesday, I was the boss, it was one of the perks of the job. Went to the local pound and started walking the lines of cells (yeah, it looked like a jail) just looking at all the inmates. Came to one cell that had a sign "DO NOT TOUCH--VICIOUS DOG". So being me, I stuck my hand in there and when all I got was a great big slobbery lick I told that old boy YOUR COMING HOME WITH ME, took 2 days for the paperwork, chipping , etcetera before I loaded him into my truck and brought him home. My wife had just been to the Mexican restaurant in town and had about a 2 pound chimichanga (they make them huge) in her hand, she asked if it would be OK to give it to him and I told her go ahead, she still can't believe he slurped it out of her hand and swallowed it with out a single chew, it still amazes her to this day. The dog was covered in sh*t and pound crud so we gave him a good warm bath and he came out looking beautiful. My son, about 8 years old at the time asked me what his name was and I told Josh he doesn't have a name yet. We were in the house later that evening talking about the dog and discussing names for him, I had mentioned that the dog had been chipped at the pound before I could take him home, and my son said "so he's lo-jacked like a car", I told Josh "yes, he is", Josh said we should name him LO-JACK and that's how OLD JACK got his name. Had OLD JACK 12 years from when I rescued him from the pound but he eventually went to the RAINBOW BRIDGE also. I now have 2 boy and 2 girls in the house and love every minute of it, I think this time it will be me waiting for them to cross over the BRIDGE; so we can be young again, healthy again, and roll and play and chase each other in the tall green grass. LIVING WITHOUT A DOG ISN'T LIVING---IT'S JUST EXISTING! They cut out your heart when they have to go, but they leave you so much of their own heart that it's always worth it.
I was brought up with dogs and cats. They are both capable of warning us. 5 years ago we took in a rescued female cat. On multiple occassions now the cat has come and woken us by odd behavior to find persons in our garden. This cat is part of our family and protects us I can testify to that. As well as that she has kept Foxes off off the property. She took on a fox last winter and it was double her size. She even managed to ambush it. I have some amazing security videos of the cat on the boundary of the property stalking a Fox trying to come onto it.

I Highly recommend "Dog Lovers" such as you and I, take the time to watch "Alpha". It's Well Done, and the Cinematography Is Excellent. Give it a Look See, and let me know how you liked it. Dogs are amazing, i never seen anything better than dogs!
I have had dogs all my life ,they have always been trusted friends and companions who have got me through hard times with thier love. The best friend a man can have. There are so many horrible people in this world.

About three years ago I was involved in a death defying car accident. A crazed driver broadsided my car on the passenger

I lost my dog, I nearly died and subsequently, I was left with painful injuries...so there I was, after a month in hospital, home "recuperating,"

My deepest sympathy for your loss .

🥲

A very touching and inspiring film, dogs remain devoted companions to humans in all situations.
This documentary really brought a tear to my eyes. Reminded me of my faithful dog. When he died some 30 years ago, I couldn't bear to have another one.
When my Old Rowley died I swore I would never have another dog, to painful when they die.
Had Rowley with me for 22 years (yeah, I know they are not supposed to live that long but he did),
longer than I had my wife and two kids, my son was 19 years old when Rowley went to the RAINBOW BRIDGE.
So being me, I stuck my hand in there and when all I got was a great big slobbery lick I told that old boy
YOUR COMING HOME WITH ME, took 2 days for the paperwork, chipping , etcetera before I loaded him into my truck and brought him home.
My wife had just been to the Mexican restaurant in town and had about a 2 pound chimichanga (they make them huge) in her hand, she asked
if it would be OK to give it to him and I told her go ahead, she still can't believe he slurped it out of her hand and swallowed
it with out a single chew, it still amazes her to this day.
The dog was covered in sh*t and pound crud so we gave him a good warm bath and he came out looking beautiful.
My son, about 8 years old at the time asked me what his name was and I told Josh he doesn't have a name yet.
We were in the house later that evening talking about the dog and discussing names for him, I had mentioned that the dog
had been chipped at the pound before I could take him home, and my son said "so he's lo-jacked like a car", I told
Josh "yes, he is", Josh said we should name him LO-JACK and that's how OLD JACK got his name.
Had OLD JACK 12 years from when I rescued him from the pound but he eventually went to the RAINBOW BRIDGE also.
I now have 2 boy and 2 girls in the house and love every minute of it, I think this time it will be me waiting for them to
cross over the BRIDGE; so we can be young again, healthy again, and roll and play and chase each other in the tall green grass.
LIVING WITHOUT A DOG ISN'T LIVING---IT'S JUST EXISTING!
They cut out your heart when they have to go, but they leave you so much of their own heart that it's always worth it.
Please, save an other dog. There are so many in nead.
Se merece un Oscar!..

I dont remember the last time i enjoyed watching something like enjoying this documentary. Thank you so much for uploading.
Yes, let's hear for the cats in our lives also!
This is an incredible documentary. Thanks for putting this together.
