Pr0sp3ro Hey you'll learn. I wish I was more fluent in other languages (I've been learning Spanish for a few years) because in America, you often are required to study another language but only in high school.. Most jobs don't require you to know any non-English language so I feel like I never had the motivation to learn. I wish more Americans cared enough to learn other languages but the world still caters to English speakers you know? Lol. Good luck :)

I think it might have something to do with the Norman Conquest in 1066 when France occupied England; they had a huge influence on the English language which is why we have so many Latin/French words despite English being a Germanic language. The French were more powerful than the English in England & so French words / pronunciations were adopted in order to sound prestigious & not be looked down upon for ‘bad’ language (similar to how even today some regional accents in Britain are looked down upon by those who have ‘standard’ dialects like received pronunciation) :)

Thanks for taking your time to make a great video!! One thing I'd like to note is that I've heard a lot of Americans saying 'adIdas' (stressing the 'i'), but in the original German (as it is a German brand) I heard it is pronounced as 'Adidas, where the first 'a' is stressed (not too much though) not the 'i', which I think totally make sense , taking into account the brand name comes from 'adi' + 'das', where these two syllables stand for the 'parts' of the actual name of the owner of the brand, Mr. Adolf Dassler ( 'adi' is a shortening for 'Adolf' and 'das' is the first three letters of 'Dassler'). Disclaimer: I don't know German and by no means I could be considered an expert here. Just mentioning what I've heard. Those who are fluent in German, please correct me if I'm wrong🙊

Givenchy is pronounced with a French “J” sound, a soft “jz” made with the tip of the tongue, almost like saying “shh.” So its “jzhiv-on-shee,” since the French “e” makes a long “o” sound, and the “ch” is a “sh” sound.

The name "Mercedes" is actually derived from Spanish, meaning mercies and the guy who made the name was Emil Jellinek and he was working for Karl Benz at Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft. He created the trademark in 1902, naming the 1901 Mercedes 35 hp after his daughter, Mercedes Jellinek.
