    College basketball used to have guys stay there for four years so that you got to know them. The players were able to develop personalities and rivalries. Players didn't hop from one school to the other and developed an identity.
    That's all gone now. College basetball has been gutted. Who has the time to keep track of all of these one and done's and movement of players. Unless you are a die hard fan of a certain school, you are not going to bother keeping up with all of it.
    For the kids currently in college, nothing has really changed as they'll root for whatever is out there in front of them. So that enthusiasm hasn't changed. But for everyone else, it's just not worth the effort to retool learning every team every year.

In contrast, we know most of the men only stay in school 1 maybe 2 years. It's no secret that men's NCAA basketball is only used as a requirement to get drafted into the NBA as fast as possible. There is an excitement because the women have players that you know. They are not one and done. As soon as any of the men make any type of hype, they bounce to the NBA, or to the G League. The women like Clark and the rest you can market and pub up because they are actually around long enough. Last male player with any hype was Zion, because he was just that special at his size and what he could do athletically and he was on Duke. If the men’s game want to stay relevant, they are going to have to get with the NBA and get rid of the one and done.

    I disagree. For the first time ever I actually thought the women's tournament would be more intriguing. They have the stars 🌟. However, the men's tournament is still more intriguing despite the lack of star power. Upsets in the women's tournament is minimal. It's pretty predictable. Every year for nearly 20 years in the men's tournament, there's a team (or 2) that overachieves and creates a buzz

    Men’s game is still better and watched more, but the reason the individual players are not as intriguing as in the past is quite obvious as the great players leave early. There are no great storylines of good players from different teams facing off.

    Stars are now recommitting to college thanks to NIL. Look at Dukes incoming frshman class. I think they have like 3 or 4 5stars.
    The problem ia we rocused so much on frshman and sophomore players getting the hype, the hype for upperclassman is lost, even if theyre winners. Upperclassman dont get the chances they likely deserve. Also we dont know what kind of player they are gonna be. The tourney is where you saw future stars or at least starters. Those guys now usually have to grind when theyre drafted because they dont have the "upside" as day a one or five but they're value is lowered when they honestly know how to grind, have s higher nba iq, are developed physically.

    Several reasons, women have to stay for atleast 3 years, they billed up the rivalry, the best women basketball players for the most part are in America. Another thing is in college there isn't a player that plays a superior style of play than in the NBA...Caitlin plays different than even the WNBA women, the shots she launches..Now if you had a Steph Curry type of player averaging 28 a game in college and shooting 15 3's during the low post error you would get more buzz.

    It is not as captivating because today’s men have turned feminized and look for drama and a storyline, instead of real competition. All the mens’ games have been highly competitive and great ball. This is really a sad time.

    • @williecatch9
      @williecatch9 2 месяца назад

      You can’t say “feminized” when the women are playing with more feistiness and edge. The word you’re looking for is “friendly”.

    • @Unapologetically_Masculine
      @Unapologetically_Masculine 2 месяца назад

      @williecatch9 Feminized is the right word. Looking for a dramatized storyline is what I would describe as feminine. Let's not mistake feistiness for edge and competitiveness. There is no comparison to the strength, power, and above the rim play of the men's game. For this reason, the men's game brings in on average 1.2 billion verses 2.3 million in the women's game. However, I do not belive there has been defense in either game since the late 90s.

    • @williecatch9
      @williecatch9 2 месяца назад

      @@Unapologetically_Masculine this kind of wordplay worked during the 90’s. Now it’s just outdated. Soft era best describes them. Using feminized is just your way of taking an unnecessary shot at women.

    • @Unapologetically_Masculine
      @Unapologetically_Masculine 2 месяца назад

      @@williecatch9 Actual words don’t become outdated and work during any era. Modern culture simply doesn’t use them enough. Feminine is from the latin word femina (meaning woman), so this is not a shot at women. This is a shot at men that think and behave like women. I just wanted to provide clarification.
