Holiday going well in the rough stuff. Love the timing ofmtge sound on Lindys rant.. I could read the frustration with the seas... Great passage and you made it alright, flying fast
Good show for our dinner you two..!!! Looked like a great day sail, taking the good with the bad, Speaking of bad, those entryway hatches 6:08 looked like they need to be hugged..!! 😎👍✅
Yeah, it can always be A LOT worse than that! But, we're super careful with picking our sailing days, so we also notice anything that's the least bit rough. :) Thanks for watching!
@@Funonholiday We have been landlocked for a couple of years so even watching those big waves on that passage is heaven . Be thankful you have a good sea going boat not one of those flat bottomed fin keelers , you would have pounded all the way . Watch out for Kong on that island , what a spectacular place . Enojoy Dominica.
Just stumbled on to your videos. What fun and great adventures.. We live in the Bradenton area, so familiar with Cortez and cruising in a sail boat up and down the West Coast if FL to the Keyes, up the East Coast to Baltimore and down to the Bahamas in our IP-37.
Another great video! I am wondering if you have a video on your electrical system? I looked through past videos, but I didn't see anything obvious. How do you produce power? Solar, wind gen, generator, engine alternator? how big is your battery bank? Lead acid or lithium? Those kinds of things...thanks in advance!
We haven't done one. That's a good idea. We're pretty proud of our simple system that seems to work better than most. We have 300 watts of basic solar panels and a cheap (bought on Amazon) MPPT charge controller. We have 4 West Marine brand group 27 AGM batteries. We have a high output alternator on our diesel but never have to use it. We don't even carry a generator and when we are on a dock, we don't plug in. Our main power draws are 12 volt fridge (Adler Barbour air cooled compressor) that runs about 50% of the time at 5 amps. And then charging laptops is about 5 amps on average. No other big draws aboard. All led lights. We have fans running most of the time, but they don't draw much. Underway we are probably using the most power, but it's never been a problem. Let me know if any other questions.
@@Funonholiday Thank you so much for that info. I am researching what to do on our recently purchased sailboat, so having an idea what others are using is very helpful. I found a West Marine battery group 27 that is rated for 92 amp hours, so times 4 would be about 368 amp hours of AGM. That is awesome that you don't even plug in at the docks! You have it figured out!
That amp hours sounds about right. Yeah, I've talked to a lot of other cruisers that have way over complicated things. Try to keep things as simple as possible while making sure that your solution is also closer to comfortable than camping.
@@Funonholiday Hey :) how long will you stay in Carriacou? Maybe we make a Trip in the next two weeks to Carriacou. It would be a pleasure to meet you :)
We may just miss. Around then is when we're planning to head down to south Grenada (unless a storm chases us down there earlier). But, we'll be around Grenada and Carriacou through hurricane season minus some time back in the States. Shoot us a message when you're around!
as always love your videos, thank you for sharing your adventure.
Thank you. And thanks for watching!

The boat definitely handles it better than we do!

Glad you liked the vid! Even hatches can use a hug sometimes! Lol
I’ve said this before, but thanks for the maps! Keep them coming! Safe journeys and thanks for bringing us along.
Thanks for sailing with us!

Awesome! What's the name of your IP? We'll watch out for you when we get back that way!
We sold her a few years ago and are now dirt dwellers with a 'Land Yacht'
Got ya! We also plan to become "Land Yachties" in the future.
I just stumbled across your channel. Well done!

Hey. Where are you now? We are on Bequia for the next weeks. Maybe we can have a drink if you are on Bequia :)
Kind regards
Hey there! We're already down in Carriacou. We stopped for one night in Bequia but didn't check in to SVG. We'll be back up there next season though.
