    I’m very new to diamond art, (2 months?) started w round ofcorse, found Diamond art club and purchased 3 canvases and all 3 are square! I was so excited to get them but then was like uh oh square?!?! I just just started and I’m like AHHHHh. This video is helpful 😊

    Break the seal! 🤯Thank you! This was so reassuring because I’m at my wits end with a dreamers design square kit that is a nightmare. I’ve never had a kit with gapping like this, you can see the symbols behind the drills. It’s a mess. But now I know it’s not me -I’m doing exactly as you said. The drill field is just too baggy. I can’t wait to finish and start a DAC square. Thank you Alysa.

      Ya their gapping is crazy. People have been telling them to upgrade for probably at least 5 years. well before I even started diamond painting. I won't buy anymore.

      @@thediamondstitcher I won’t either. Glad someone understands what I’m going through. I’m almost finished and then I’m going to roll it up snd put it back in its box, stand it in the corner and let it think about what it did. 🤣

    Excellent! I am not really a newbie, and have been multiplacing for a while, but your advice about leaving a space at the end makes so much sense! Thanks!

    Hi! Incredibly helpful video. I just started my first square and also multiplacing, and even though i got the hang of if quite fast, since I’m doing a black background color block, those small gaps were driving me mad (it’s a mystery kit, so the canvas is not coloured, to make matters worse). Good to have confirmation that those will shrink with time. The tip about breaking the seal between the diamond and the glue is also very very useful to deal with those pesky diamonds that insist on going back to where they first landed 😂 Thank you! 😊

    ❤Your explanation of the need to break the seal to re-place a drill has made so much difference to me. I've only been diamond painting for a few months but certainly noticed early on my drills wanting to "crawl back" to their original placement when I tried to just nudge them to straighten them. Breaking the seal makes all the difference! Thank you!!!❤

    Hello. Thank you for this video. Very Helpful! I've been making kits with round drills and just started on a new very large square drill kit and was noticing it wasn't coming together as nicely as I would like. Thankfully, I'm not to far into and can take the tips you've provided here to move forward. I also really appreciate you sharing about the tray your using. You cannot get the drills to sit like that in the pre-stocked ones and I just happen to know someone who has a 3D Printer business! Maybe he'll be kind and make me a new tray. I like multi placing when we can on the canvas. Saves time and looks good. Loved all the tips and I have suscribed to see more in the near future. Thanks, Jules

    Thanks for the tips Alysa. Learned something new like breaking up the seal if it's the drill is not in the correct spot & fix it. I mean I fix it all the time but didn't realize it was the seal that causes it in the first place. I thought it was because of how I laid the drills down in the wrong place by accident by a smidge. It's probably both. I multi-placed all the time and have seen the edges not having drills on it sometimes when it didn't catch for some reason. Never occurred me to use that open space as a guideline to press against the already laid down drill to help keeping them straight in a line. I mean I have done it before but it never occurred to me that actually helps if I left one drill off the multi-placer.

    Thank you for the tips. I just started my first square and am finding it hard. I kept telling myself that I would get better with time. But it is a large canvas and don’t want to wait until the end to master it.I am going to try your outer edge idea. I am doing Cottage by the Lake. You said you load dot glue in your single placer. I just brought that am having trouble loading it. I just finished round Beartime story by Randall Spangler. That was my first ever painting. I love to read and also crochet. I do find that I get lost in diamond painting. I no sooner start and look up and a hour has gone by. Thanks again you were very helpful. Have a wonderful day.

      Hi Sandy, Thank you so much for watching! The glue dots can be tricky to get a hang of. I use the pointy tweezers and my thumb to work them into the single placer. I trim any excess of the top then rub it on my shirt to make it a little less sticky. I would also start with a 3 or 4 multiplacer to learn. I did that for a few months I think then slowly moved up.

    Hi Bestie, me again. 😂
    Great video.
    The edging truly is the key. Looks awesome.
    I have resorted to using acrylic rulers for all my edges lately. It has made me enjoy the process of the craft so much more than being focused on that edge line.

    Great video, and such great information that I have not seen/heard elsewhere, you know your stuff. I just started my first square one and its a bit frustrating, the kit is from PaintGem but I find the diamonds are inconsistent. Excited to invest in DAC, I just wanted to experiment with squares before buying a big kit. So thank thank you!

      Thanks so much! I am glad you found it helpful. The new DAC squares (they did some upgrades thru last year) are great to work with. I recommend getting one of the newer releases for your first one. They have some smaller snack size kits too you could start with. I also enjoy paint gem but do find their quality subpar to DAC (more trash and tabs)

    I've done checker board but used a diamond twister to make the first part of the checker board and then the pen to fill the board and it came out real straight.

    Great tips! I can’t wait to try them tomorrow. I’m sure it will help clean up some issues. A few questions.. so if you have an entire column that drifts down would you have to break that glue on ever drill to get them to stay. I tried to fix by pushing them but they have a kind of their own. Also, I’m using a very narrow multi placer. I love that it fits into tight areas and that I have visibility but when I roll down to place the drills, the ones on the ends often pivot. I’ve checked and they look tight before I place them down. It’s driving me nuts! Any ideas?

    • @thediamondstitcher
      @thediamondstitcher  4 месяца назад

      I hope you find them helpful! yes if you are trying to move diamonds and you want them to stay where you push them you do have to break that seal between the diamond and glue. when I work on a section I try to lightly place my diamonds down at first so if I need to move them its easier then I go over it after and push all the diamonds down to the glue with a roller or my hand. yes I think ive experienced the pivot too its I think just because that is how it anchors and probably do to our hand movement it makes it pivot I try and put my pinky down on the canvas first (helps to have a small release paper so you dont stick to the glue or I anchor on other diamonds) putting my pinky down steadies my hand and helps avoid that pivot. hope this helps!

      @@thediamondstitcher My drill placement has gotten so much better since watching your tips video. The tips that were especially helpful was to pick either horizontal or vertical and your tip to leave an open space on the multi-placer to allow for nesting into existing drills. I did try a grid but that was way too time consuming. LOL It's got to be fun or forget it. Any who --- thanks again! Great stuff here!

    Appreciate your video. My gapping issue happens at the end of the row. It’s like my diamonds seem larger than the grids so as I move along there’s crowding at the end rows.

    • @thediamondstitcher
      @thediamondstitcher  Год назад

      thank you! some grids are tighter then others and the tighter the grid is the less space for wonky diamonds. if the diamond shapes are uneven - some bigger it can really throw the lines off in the end

    • @thediamondstitcher
      @thediamondstitcher  Год назад +1

      how I use it is I will pick up one single diamond on each end of the multiplayer and place that way. sometimes you can grab 3 diamonds (one in the middle too) and place them that way. it speeds up diamond painting a little bit. I will try and remember to demonstrate that in a future wip and chat
