  • We bought an ex-Dutch army Unimog U1300L Turbo and are converting it into an off-road camper for around-the-world overland travel.
    In this episode James drives our Unimog for the first time. Watch our first impressions as we discover what it is like driving this beast on a pot hole filled forest track :D
    Thank you for watching our videos :)

    I knew a Dutch couple who drove from Amsterdam to Cape Town in a Unimog. Keep at it, it’s going to be ok...

    For my unimog 404 that is 3.7ton right now I've got a 12 ton bottle jack. And you need to bring blocks of wood to put under the bottle jack. Otherwise you don't come high enough.
    When the camper is on it will improve the driving alot. I don't have to slow down for speed bumps 😁 without the springs will be to stiff.

      Hi! :) Well I am glad to hear that the driving will improve a lot once the camper is on! :D It is difficult to imagine driving like this across the continents :D we'll try to find some used lorry seats that should hopefully help with the bounciness as well.
      Thanks for your messages, James was telling me that you've been chatting :)
      Have a good day :)

    A couple of random questions. Will you be making videos of the restoration work being done in Lithuania? Maybe posting photos?
    How long was the journey from Lithuania to Italy?

    • @victorsvanventures6753
      @victorsvanventures6753  3 года назад

      Hello David, we love random questions! Mostly yes, but not too in depth unfortunately as it is being done in LT and we will be in Italy. There will hopefully be plenty of stage photos, have a look at jpadventure19 they are a young German couple doing a full strip, very impressive! From LT to Italy (we travel from Klaipeda to Kiel on the ferry, then drive down through Germany) took us 4 days in the van with plenty of rest stops . . .

      We hope you can make it here some day 🙂 Europe has a lot to offer but it is slowly getting more difficult to live in your vehicle here... New rules and regulations. Fingers crossed it doesn't get too prohibitive 🤞
