The male soloist from Voctave is one of the new guys, Drew Ochoa. He also sings with the Voices of Liberty at WDW and is in a pretty darn good barbershop quartet, After Hours. The female singing with the guys, Ashley Espinoza, sings with the gold medal winning Sweet Adelines quartet Windsor.
Brad, the star of Voctave is Jamey Ray who does their arrangements. You can see him in the engineer booth just soaking it all in. The juxtaposition of Mariachi Cobre and Voctave is genius for this song. They stay true to the spirit of the song from Coco. Cobre is spectacular in how their voices and instruments all sizzle, and the precision adds extra energy. Then the lush harmonies you expect from Voctave raptures you out. Then they combine the groups with the harmonies leveraged by all those powerful voices, no weakness anywhere, and it just reaches down to the depths of the soul. Finally, in a departure from many arrangements, this musical flight doesn't end on a mountain top, but lands gentle as a leaf falling on a pond.
The Mariachi band is from Epcot. They perform at the Mexico pavilion😊 I love this collaboration so, so much!!!! Wonderful reaction!
Miss Ashley's voice is so sweet but powerful. I'm so hooked to her voice in here I can't stop listening
