- Cold case documentary of former mayor Ralph Brown, missing from Cornelius, Oregon, since May 16, suffers from dementia and has not had his memory or heart medication since he left his home.
Over 100 days have passed now since 76-year-old Ralph Brown went missing!
Today we follow up on locations we spotted from our plane ride on our Day 4 search to see what we are missing and if we can find Ralph.
His daughter, Laurie Saunders, said during a news conference that she spoke with her father the night he went missing shortly after 9pm and that he wasn’t sure exactly where he was.
He told her he was “literally in the bushes,” and that he might be near a golf course, but couldn’t give her more specific details. He also asked if people were out looking for him.
She told him to wait for a call from his son, who was going to go out and find him, but Brown didn’t answer the phone after that. And nobody has been able to find him, even though hundreds of people out there helping with the search.

Brown is 76 years old, about 5-foot-10, with white hair and blue eyes. He's also missing the tip of his index finger.
His car is a dark blue, 2014 Nissan Sentra with Oregon plates.
Anyone who sees him or his car is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 503-629-0111
There have been a few sightings reported, but none were substantiated, said Daryle Brown, Ralph Brown’s son.
Daryle said his parents were in their home on May 16 when Brown stood up and said he was going to his “other house.”
Ralph has early-onset Alzheimer’s symptoms, which leads to confusion. He no longer has a driver’s license and has not driven a car in more than a year, Daryle said.
He drove away from the home in the 600 block of South 12th Avenue in Cornelius, Oregon.
There have been no location pings on his phone after 10:25pm that evening, and no communication from Brown in the time since he’s been missing.
There have also been no charges to his credit card.
More than 200 volunteers are still helping in the search, including former students, friends, and even strangers.

Just a thought if he takes heart meds do you know if he maybe has a pacemaker or defibrillator implant reason I ask is my mother has a pacemaker/defibrillator implant and readings from her implant once a week transmits to her cardiologist via Wi-Fi internet access you may want to check in to that.

As I watch this, I reflect---THESE are the people who should be revered, thanked and supported. The impact this work has on the lives of grieving families is simply unparalleled. Would that people like this were glorified, instead of someone who puts a ball through a net, or appears on the big screen. If our lives are measured by the impact that we have on our fellow man, then this work, these men and women, are to be humbly and eternally treasured. Ralph was my school counsoler at JW Poynter Jr high in the 70's. He is a very kind man and he needs to be found, this is heart breaking
A detective friend has said that many missing people are found by hunters in the fall...hopefully Ralph will be one of them. Your woman in the pink Chevy was found in a fairly small clump of brush, near a highway, so I hope you can do an aerial search for Ralph again when the leaves have fallen, and more ground is visible. Thank you, guys, again. So many have forgotten about Ralph. This keeps him in the public's consciousness in case someone notices something.

17:00 what an awesome officer/sheriff. People are so quick to hate them for the smallest things or remarks, but I felt it was nice to see him on the water, checking on you guys, offering you gas, and generally caring for everything you're doing. You mentioned that it seemed odd that he didn't know Ralph was still missing, but I think that's easy to say. Police deal with soooooooooo many cases of all kinds and many false cases on top of it. They also have their normal lives on top of all of that too. I think he does want Ralph found, but he just has many other cases on his mind, especially ones that seem like they are closer to being solved. This may sound bad too, but a case where someone was or is harming others too I expect would be in their mind most, while cases like Ralph's may get set aside a tiny bit more. He mentioned finding the car being the most important part because it's exactly that at this point, there's nothing really to work with anymore other than just searching every possibility with hopes that he's found. If they had the car's location, the case would be very high priority and have much more attention. Just wanted to say all that because cops do great work, but are hated more now than ever, sadly.

I will literally put my 6mo. Old to sleep and watch your videos on my TV. Not alot of people will do what you do and I am so happy to see there are still good people in the world. Youre amazing and may God bless you and your crew. You guys are absolutely amazing. Coming from a parent who lost a child, being able to have closure is something that means the world.
I hope he gets found. I can't imagine the devastation & feelings his family has. It's heart breaking to see so many go missing & not found. You guys are making a difference in the world & people's lives.

I'd never be surprised that others help you. That's what happens when you are a helper and a giver. It comes back to you.
The reality of what you are doing is pretty incredible.
Whether it’s cleaning the environment or finding a missing person there is no time wasted . You can tell the family and law enforcement that they can cross off certain locations, which in my opinion is making the search area that much smaller .
You guys are so thorough and use such good technology it’s incredible.
I wonder if you could find out where Ralph’s phone pinged prior to the last ping . If foul play was involved the perpetrator may have taken his phone from the location and used it later to ring someone to pick him / them up .

Prayers he is found
I went to the Oregon State Fair the other day. Outside the entrance was a table with all kinds of information about Ralph. This was a good place to set up for possible sightings of Ralph. The fastfood windows in Newberg have signs about Ralph taped onto posts so you see them when picking up food. Good place. I hope he is found.
Then you met me :) I was allowed a permit to set up a spot in the free speech zone. Did this at Yamhill County Fair, too but inside the fair. I have a notebook of tips from locals as far as places to check out that I collected at both fairs. Since you seem a Newberg local, let me know if you think of a good spot for another banner in the area.

I literally just came across your channel on Friday and binge watched...have only a handful left until I'm caught up...also jumped on the Sam Sam channel and watched a lil bit of his...the most fun one for me was the live Walmart parking lot tire extravaganza one...you guys had me cracking up...especially with Dan's cold pizza getting drooled over by Sam and his oatmeal...my favorite was the "you can only have 8 almonds" part.

we had a case in Oregon where a red car was just 50 feet from the road in the bramble-- for 15 months--- off River Road (commuter road) just south east of where Ralph was last pinged --- Officer was quoted as saying that the brush here can just take a car in and close right back up .
They found him yesterday Friday the 13 th !! Miracle in the water

Thank you for continuing to search for Ralph Brown. Obviously, Ralph has to be somewhere, but as you know, he and/or his car could be hidden in even a small clump of bushes. I lost an uncle to lewy body dementia a couple months ago and lost my grandma to alzheimer's on the 26th of August. Bless you all for everything you do. I am surprised he continued to drive after the dementia diagnosis,. My dad died of Alzheimer's in Oregon. I so hope you find him. So heartbreaking for the family.

Or they forgot to close it or it was damaged at the time in question 🤷♀️. We absolutely tend to forget to close the gates from time to time 🙈

I Praise you all for what you do for the Families.. You guy's are Amazing, Inspirational, Caring, and Loving with huge hearts. I have a feeling that you will find Ralph, My Thoughts and Prayers are with the Family of Ralph and I Pray that your loved one is found soon!
You are doing a great job of eliminating the water spots. What I keep thinking about is, he's in the car and confused. He could have drove down any old dirt road or path, maybe tried to turn around and got too far on the edge and went down an embankment or just beyond the road into trees. Stuck and confused, if he couldn't get back out of the car, or even if he did, he could have wandered in the trees and got lost further. Is there a group looking at all the roads along the cell phone pinging area? We had a case of a woman on a freeway off ramp, go over a little hump and off the ramp and into a small holding pond of water, right there on the freeway. They found her the next day, but she drowned in that small body of water. It's so easy to just pass by someplace and not notice anything. Thank you for the update on the search.

You said not to discount searching under the bridge because of guard rails using the same logic dont just asume the farmers gates are closed all the time! Good luck guys and stay safe!

With dementia a person will tend to be more in the past especially when they talk about things and their memory etc. Maybe talk to his family about where he grew up and where his mother lived etc as he could be in a different area, that has links to his childhood.

I have taken care of dementia people (men & woman) and most always want to go to the childhood homes. It even at times seem to be a desperation for them.

I agree. People with dementia retain long term memories better than short term. They can remember what happened twenty years ago, but they can't remember what they had for breakfast today. Most of them are trying to go "home," wherever there strongest memory of home is.

I don’t know what I would do if my dad just disappeared. It does worry me bc my grandpa had Alzheimer’s. The last ping for Ralph’s phone was at the boat ramp they mentioned to the officer at around 17:30 in the video
Great Job guys, even though you not successful this time, but you will be soon.
Just a suggestion, please try and check those ponds / farm dams as we call it in South Africa. Their is always a way in some way or another. This will also give the farmer a nice indication that his dams are also clear. Maybe in the USA its different with trespassing, however in SA it is nothing new.
I also have another suggestion in terms of your shirts on the back, maybe add an small logo of Angel of all the souls you manage to locate, and a tick mark of all the cars you successfully taken out.
That said, you guys are SUPER AWESOME.

Depending on the US state you are in its legal to defend property with deadly force. Trespassing just ain't worth...

@@tylermallory2504 much respect to those Farmers, I think the team will have no issues. I still recommend they check those ponds, sometimes things will be in places you never expect it to be.
Each time I watch one of these Cold Cases, I cry for the families, hold out hope for families.

However, if you guys ever come across Philadelphia by any chance, their is a really famous missing person case here that nobody seems to know what happened. Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone Jr Went missing in Philadelphia in 2005 and were last seen getting in their 2001 Dodge Ram Pickup and we’re never seen/heard from again. They had just comeback from a bar and it was expected one if not both were intoxicated. Some people expect they were the victim for a murder for hire, but the truck was never found. Rivers/lakes have been checked, but I’m not sure ti what extent. This case has been featured on Investigation Discovers “Disappeared”. Because they expect the truck is in the water somewhere, seemed like a good case.

While the presence of a guard rail is helpful, vehicles can easily become airborne and go over railings. It doesn't matter the height, in an accident they can launch surprising heights.
While the presence of a guardrail might make the location less likely, the location should remain on the list to check.
Since local LE doesn't seem to know he is still missing (like,WTF?!?!), perhaps checking the tow yards in a 100 mile radius for the car?
Check CarFax to see if the car was salvaged?
To be fair, that was a Yamhill County Deputy and Ralph is not their case. He is a Washington County case, even though most of his drive that was traced was in Yamhill County. It is still upsetting to run into any law enforcement and have them not know Ralph is still missing. I have run into a few too many who don't know. That aside, I do believe investigators when they ensure me that any check of his plate or vin will alert both the checker and the police. There is a U.S. Marshall who approached me at the Yamhill County Fair (at the Ralph Booth I ran) who promised me that he was also manually checking the databases for Ralph's car each week. It's really hard for a car to just be off road in Yamhill County because the county is mostly private property. That's why we are so thankful AWP has spent so much time looking for him in waterways.

It's so frustrating that law enforcement still doesn't know he's missing. Several still haven't heard of the case. 😕
Law enforcements primary function is to generate revenue for the State. They don't fight crime, they don't protect.
That goes a long way toward explaining why he hasn't been found. Same with the Summer Wells case. There are people all over the world that know about that case, but there's a surprising number of people right in Tennessee who have never heard about it. Its so important to keep sharing info about missing person's cases to keep their names and faces out there until they are found.

I would think that because he was a former Mayor they would keep the case on going and updated but I guess there’s so many missing people they can’t 🤷♀️
@@jrwheeler81 you can't seriously expect police departments to have officers looking for missing persons every day all day until they find him. Departments just don't have the resources, that's why they often rely on the public for tips on missing people.

It's literally a matter of resources, if you want the police to be able to do more give em more money. Like i said it's a matter of resources, this man has been missing 10 weeks do you seriously think a police department can put officers on that case all day everyday until they find him? If you don't like it that sucks but it's the truth, go out and do something about it. Why don't you fund raise to start new search and rescue divisions that do nothing but look for missing people or start a petition to get funding for a new division. I'd support it, but don't call me stupid for delivering facts I'm just the messenger. The fact that people want to de-fund the police but then expect them to do more work is stupid...

I would check with anyone living in the area for at least 50 years. Where ever the old bridge was located...probably had little pig trails off to the sides for swimmers and or boaters.
My Daddy went missing for a few days once and everybody and their neighbors were looking for him. He was less than 20 miles from home but in an entirely different county.
He was on medication and drove out into the woods and took a nice long nap.
My cousins step daughter was abducted and 3 years later her body was unearthed....only because a relative of the abductor and murderer realized something was wrong with the look of the ground near his home.
One of my husbands relatives is currently still missing. Also a distant relative is still missing..going on 2 years...not far from here.

When your lost in the dark and take a side road not knowing it leads down to a lake, you can easily drive in by accident. We were fortunate in the 1980’s. Halloween in New England it’s extremely dark out and we did just that. I screamed lake and driver slammed on breaks inches away from the lake. We never saw it. Thankfully we were able to slowly back up the incline and out. I wish they would put up gates on all theses entry ways to lakes from roads or at least speed bumps and glow in dark signs.

It's about three months now since Ralph went missing so there's no hope that he's going to be alive and he had Dementia too...
Still Praying for Ralph to be found and he and his family can have closure and he will be at peace.
Just a gut feeling but could he have gone back to his childhood way in thinking , a holiday destination took with parents when he was a kid...Jared great job xx

We have a female Alzheimers patient missing in Christchurch New Zealand. She is 83 yrs old there have been no sighting. He husband is finding it difficult to cope at 85 years old. Really sad situation. Great to see AWP is learning more about Alzheimers, this will help you all understand much more clearly just what the limits of Ralph Browns abilities are. A disease that is incomprehensible to anyone who has not had first hand experience of looking after a person with this illness.
