  • What is the Windstorm Challenge?
    The Windstorm Challenge is an exciting annual competition where middle and high school students can showcase their skills and creativity. The challenge tasks teams of students with designing and constructing a floating platform for a scale model wind turbine. Teams present their creations to a panel of expert judges, showcasing their engineering prowess and problem-solving skills.
    What is the ASCC?
    The University of Maine Advanced Structures and Composites Center (ASCC) is a world-leading, interdisciplinary center for research, education, and economic development encompassing material sciences, advanced manufacturing, and engineering of composites and structures.
