To play the mod : find a regular map and select 'Create with mod' and then look for Evo Complete :) I've been playing a couple games with people in my Discord, feel free to join and find some games

Easy to tell you were really enjoying these games. Next time you are BW Z, it would be cool to see how SC2 races handle cracklings.
The strat for Sci Vessels was to have at least a couple of them and irradiate each other while hovering over the mineral line. Since they are mech units, it doesn’t damage the Vessels, it wrecks havoc on the mineral line and lasts the entire irradiation time.
Check out Direct Strike ;) Standard has standard units, but Commanders have coop commanders and their units. Reavers are used by Artanis ;) And direct strike 3vs3 can be a cool format to play with other people.

@@TerrariaiOSTAIOS There are some 2012 pictures of uThermal on Liquipedia which would be at 17 with a full head of hair and the next one is 2015 which already shows significant balding. It goes really quickly sometimes.

That double 360 no scope the scarab did before exploding those scvs was truly the most brood war thing ever
I think it was actually the second scarab that the reaver fired which exploded. XD
So the first shot did a double 360 no-scope and fizzled out while the second one just went straight in and blew up. Again, the MOST BROODWAR thing that could have happened.
The "eraser" strat would've been cool - when you irradiate another science vessel and just hover over the mineral lines
ABSOLUTELY! Please do it! A couple of science vessels irradiate each other and move over the mineral line, because the damage stacks but the mechanical science vessel don't take irradiate damage!

This is a dream. I love starcraft, brood war, play style and flavor but I love the starcraft 2 engine even more. This is a dream!

I was dying watching him yesterday.
His reaction when watching the games after was pretty interesting. I think noregret said it best... you basically have to play sc2 with sc1 units.
My favorite thing about sc1 when I was a kid was clicking on the marine enough to make him swear, and the academy scream. I would listen to the academy scream over and over.
When I was young, I didn't know know what stim did, so I would just use it until all my units had 1 hp and then lose, cos medics didn't exist yet :(
I also didn't know what stim do, but I realized it reduced the HP of my units so I didn't use it, I didn't even research it, why would ANYONE use it, it is stupid, it reduced your units HP!!! :D

This is such an awesome idea! Now, competitions can go from 3 races to 6. making things a lot more interesting! and chaotic! I hope Blizzard sees this, and incorporates it.

This is what star craft 3 should look like. Like 2-3 different shades of each of the three races. Brood war era terran could be Terran confederacy or United Earth Directorate, Brood war zerg under a 'neo overmind' etc.

I remember playing SC1 and Brood War in High School with my friends, and I remember the old meta for 4v4 was both sides would buildup for some period of time and then just clash against eachother with BSs and Carriers. I remember making a ton of Science Vessels and my teamates getting mad at me for not making BCs... then the fight happens and i just EMP half the enemy carriers while defense matrixing a bunch of ally BCs and you could just see several rows of enemy carriers just instantly vaporize. I also made tons of Valkyrie and they would just delete whatever was left over.
BW lair upgrades are burrow, antenna (+2 overlord sight upgrade), ventral sacs (transport) and pneumatised carapace (300% speed boost)
Brood war has so many fun strategies; I remember making a bunch of science vessels irradiating all of them and then flying them over the mineral line like a zerg eraser. Not to mention the Valkyrie and long range Goliaths for anti air, just amazing - I hope you play more Terran brood war games!

Yeah because he clicked on one in the middle of the pack, and it will only explode when it reaches its target. Got a laugh out of that
The third Overlord upgrade from Brood War is Sight Range Increase.
The Academy sound is the Howie Scream. Another famous sound effect scream like the Wilhelm, recorded in the late 70s and used all over.

I always felt the next thing Blizzard could have done was split the three factions the same way SINS of a Solar Empire did with "rebels" being the Brood Wars and "loyalists" being SC2.

In BW, you make 9 drones at your first base, 7 at your natural, and 3 at your third base for the hydra bust.

The overlord upgrades are: speed, sight range, and transport. IIRC, the only other upgrade on a BW hatch/lair/hive is burrow.

I will not be satsified with this mod series until we see a Dark Archon rush. That was my favorite BW unit back in the day and it would thrill me to see thermie crush some n00bs with DAs.

I would love to see a BW series.. I used to play it heaps back in the day. Admittedly i played mostly on the money maps, so minerals werent an issue and the zerg bases looked a lot like hatcheries next to hatcheries.. Mass production at its finest. Loved defending zerg bases with stacked lurkers... Manually placing them one at a time as close to each other as possible and its like a laser beam going through marines.. lol

Dragoons were "all or nothing" from what I remember. They'd either durp around and be super frustrating or be absolute menaces obliterating everything. No middle ground in an encounter, all or nothing.
Saw a comment on Artosis Casts about this mod and I am quite interested to try it out! My only wish is that the mod has SC1 Tank Sound FX. IMO The BW Tank sounded a lot more impactful and threatening when you hear that Chonky Transformation compared to SC2 😁

Do the "eraser" next!!! Basically two science vessels irradiate each other and go over the drone lines, killing everything. And the spell damage is not enough to kill the vessels themselves.
Great video! I was wondering the whole time if I was enjoying the sound effects more because they were better in BW or because of nostalgia? Then you mentioned it, and I agree: BW just had better sound effects.

if you enjoy irrediate, u should play eraser simulator, where u irradiate your own science vessel and just fly it over the drones. Your science vessel doesnt get damaged, while damaging all the drones it fly's over. very fun

Mass ghosts lock mass BCs/carriers please!!!!!
SC1 hydras appear weaker, but they make for suuuuch a strong army that is relatively cheap. Also, 50 drones is essentially a 5~6 hatch economy! SC1 zerg really doesn't need a lot of drones to have a booming eco. And no inject, so macro hatches are totally a thing!
Reaver drop into their mineral line... 1 billion workers dying. xD
This makes me want to see you go for a no (one) Queen build in SC2 for Zerg. Just litter the map with macro-Hatcheries and pump big armies and never run out of larvae.
I used to love killing Overlords with the Science Vessel: Irradiate.
I think the reason the old races seem really good is the people playing sc2 are probably doing so because they didn't play bw or are more comfortable with sc2, as soon as people get some games in and learn more they'll even up
I played this mod over the weekend after all these videos came up and man did this mod leave BW hydras OP. They have 1 supply like Brood War but have the attack rate from standard SC2 as well as bonus damage to armored. They melt any air unit or armored unit on the ground so fast.
The other upgrade at the lair was probably overlord sight range.
for a more realistic mod you should be able to slect only 12 marines at a time and then it sounds like a nice challenge :)
Titan reactor upgrade in science facility for the science vessel is a StarCraft 2 campaign upgrade we buy using credits

This is great. I'd love to see an even more faithful reproduction of BW in the SC2 engine pick up steam like this (4 worker start with the same mining speeds and all). The simpler unit design is so cool, but the original engine is so annoying to interface with.
Reaver drops are completely OP in this game mode lol You should check Snow's Reaver drops in the recent SC1 v SC 2 showmatch on Afreeca😊
BroodWar units are so OP - you could go like marine-medic rush in minute 3-4 and have a quick win :)
Don’t waste irradiate on a single drone lol. Irradiate the other science vessel and hover it over the mineral lines. Or if you insist on irradiating a drone because you just have one science vessel then give it a defense matrix FIRST and then irradiate.
Trust me, I’m an armchair bw expert ;P
