I have been sailing with Celebrity ever since I came back from being Deployed in the Middle East in 1991...I separated from the Army in Late 1991 and been sailing with Celebrity as my choice cruise line ever since. I have been on 28 Celebrity cruises. I sailed in Aqua Class when it first appeared and most people would be shocked to learn of how many amenities were discontinued such as but not limited to : Fresh flowers daily, personalized stationary with your name on each item. Designer bathroom shampoos and soaps, A sturdy Canvas tote bag, Excellent canapes that have since been down graded and much more. Back in the very early 2000's, I was extremely saddened by the complete horrible quality of Blu, The main restaurant as well was extremely downgraded and my wife and I were completely taken back by the poor quality of food and service...However, as recently, the food and service has been upgraded beyond anything I ever experienced on Celebrity. My wife and I on our last cruise on the Edge in May of 2022 the food and service was amazing, Some of the best cuisine we ever had on any cruise ship. The service was spectacular, But with that comes a big price increase. I guess I would rather pay a higher price and be surprised beyond my expectations. It almost seems as if they are trying to enter the Luxury cruise line market. But if they truly want to be called a luxury line, they need to build much smaller ships almost on the level of Oceania. My wife and I have done every cruise you can think of out of the States, as well as Asia cruises, South Pacific, every Caribbean Island along with South America. We are now focusing mainly on Europe. We took 2 complete Land tours of the entire UK, we been to Norway and the Baltic. Our last cruise was on the Edge out of Italy to the Greek Isles. The next cruise is on the Reflection. embarking in Barcelona and cruising to multiple ports in France, Italy, Monaco, Corsica and back to Spain. ONE NOTE : We loved the Edge However there was one deal breaker for me to never sail on another Edge class ship. The problem I had was the Infinite Veranda. I disliked it very much, I prefer a traditional Veranda to were I can walk out and enjoy a sunrise or sunset while drinking a coffee. The infinite Veranda IMHO is just a ocean view cabin with a window that slides open. Till Celebrity designs a ship like the Edge class with Traditional Verandas I will stick with the Summit and Soltice class ships.

Thankyou for your comments and that rich, detailed summary of your cruise experiences. It is a shame that amenities have been downgraded and benefits one enjoys are sadly not there. It does rather run counter to both Royal and Celebrity wanting to attract and retain loyal customers. Change is inevitable, but our own personal experience of 52 Royal and Celebrity cruises is very similar to yours. With the growing participation of the loyalty programmes, once designed to retain loyalty, is now so big that this is a real cost to the business. Sadly, this creates pressure to reduce costs and that manifests itself in degraded benefits. I'm glad you've enjoyed a rejuvenated food and service offering lately and we feel the same way. We hope the cruise lines understand the importance of retaining and enhancing the loyalty programme benefits and continual focus on improving the cruise service and experience. Else I worry that customer will vote with their feet.
Thank you for your service sir. Thanks for your comments.

Looks like the tables are too close together to have a private conversation with your wife or husband

To be fair John it was never that busy and the maitre d was very good at spreading diners out. She also knew us by our names after day 1 and knew exactly what we liked.
