    I’m watching this five years after it happened. What a wonderful video! Two police officers and their act of kindness to this teenager. Just when you think the news out there couldn’t get worse, you stumble across this heartwarming video. I wish there was a follow up to this story. Their single act of kindness towards this boy could have changed the course of his life!

Often stepping in at just the right time sets a beautiful path for success. These officers who have helped with this car situation are truly great men. And yes, not only the good appreciated by the high-school student but his brother as well. The ripple effect and word of mouth to friends leaves lasting impressions too. Well done Officers👏👏👏 America needs you.

    • @sandraleigh4023
      @sandraleigh4023 Год назад +2

      Except they are humans too and become demoralized by all the cruelty directed towards them and the physical attacks. Good ones leave for better paying jobs in corporate security, or DEA, etc. The pay is historically low for the risk they take as well. 10 years ago, my city received 100 apps for 1 job opening. The criteria was strong, requiring college, experience, pristine record, physical and mental strength. Now, they are taking "trainees" who haven't even been through the academy. It breaks my heart. And this is even in an affluent city where the pay and benefits are better than surrounding cities.

    • @lkayh
      @lkayh Год назад +5

      @@sandraleigh4023 I agree. And if it takes more money to recruit the best for this kind of job we should do it. Policing is always going to be a difficult, thankless, and sometimes really ugly job. We need people in that job who truly are there to protect and serve, who want to develop a positive relationship with the community they work with, and who can handle the abuse and the pressure and who aren’t easily triggered. Seeing way too many videos of police who don’t fit that bill, and that’s a bad combo with a badge and gun.

    • @PCJ52
      @PCJ52 Год назад +4

      Agreed, however we already have a million more like these guys. The mainstream news and social media almost always only promote bad news stories.

    • @lkayh
      @lkayh Год назад +1

      @@PCJ52 I agree that most cops are “good guys.” Although I have some issues with the fact that even the good cops are reluctant to report when they see other cops do the wrong thing. There is this “brotherhood” thing that encourages cops to protect other cops, and the ones who break that unspoken rule and report someone, if it becomes known, can become outcast (and that can put them in danger since they need other cops to have their backs at times). I think rather than drastic moves like defunding the police (even tho what most people meant by that wasn’t what people assumed) we need to find ways to change that “brotherhood” culture. Maybe just train and educate police officers so they realize that when a cop abuses a member of the public and it becomes known, that makes policing less safe for all cops because it builds more distrust in the community they serve. And we need to raise the pay for cops so that the job attracts LOTS of candidates and the authoritarian types can be weeded out.

    These two police officers are the reason why despite the world we live in we should not lose faith in humanity. They told the story as if what they did was nothing. They exemplify what is good in the world and if more human beings showed the kindness these two men showed what a wonderful world it could be.

    In the climate of negativity we seem to live in, it’s great to see the positive. 99% of police are great human being like these two! Thank you to the two officers for protecting and serving! Thank you for posting.

    Years ago I wondered why male animals and birds were more beautiful than the females when it was considered the opposite for humans. After carefully observing animals and humans, I have come to the conclusion that it's the same for animals and humans. The males are always more attractive. Case in point, Officers Borne and Sawin.

      It depends on what you're into.
      But males in animals are more appealing is because they have to compete for females.
      Females do not have to compete so there's no evolutionary need for them to be as decorative as males.

    That’s so great that you did this for him.☺️
    I was a struggling single mom of 1 little boy back in ‘89 when my tires were slashed (I believe was my old landlord.) and I had no money to replace them.
    Phone calls were made and I was told to go up to a gas station and repair shop that was 3/4 block away. I carefully drove there and with the agreement of paying them when I received my tax refund and I drove away with 4 new-to-me tires. They charged me $200 which I thought was great. A week later I paid them and they told me to come back any time with any problems with the car.
    We need people like you and people like the ones who helped me out.
    Thank you for all you do!!🥰

    This is why Police officers were established. They are a helping hand to the community, not the negative we portray or see...
