When I watch this great car, I miss my 1970 AMX 360 4-speed 3.73 with Go Package ( ram air, positraction, disc brakes, power steering, wheels and tires, hd cooling, hd shocks, and rally instruments). I put on a little fatter BFG radial T/As. Very quick in its day and so fun to have people stare and ask "What car is that?" "It's an experimental " I'd say.
i ordered a hurst amx from a local amc dealer.the car was a 1969 model but it had been turned into a 1970 model when hurst supplied all the parts to turn it into a 1970 model.nhra rejected my car when i took it to the drag strip to race it.i had to turn it back to a 1969 so i could race it.i loved the looks of the 1970 model but i had to change it back.we raced the car with help from amc canada but the car was destroyed in a fire in 1975.i loved that car but if i ever buy another one i want the 401 engine in it. jim
I had a 1970 AMX with the BW T-10 close ratio 4-speed and the Hurst spring loaded comp shifter. I'm seeing that was very rare. All I see is automatics on youtube. Yes, you don't even need to ask, I KICK myself for selling that car.
Awesome AMX
