I go to Scad and if y’all wanna go there that’s fine but be prepared to spend a lot of your own money on supplies which can be a lot depending on your major, which can cost $200 or more each quarter. Scad also makes us give them files of our work at the end of every quarter and if your ok with that (which honestly I’m not) then this school is for you. I have mixed feeling for Scad since I transferred there from another college and it’s rare to have professors that actually care about you. I’ve had a good handful of great professors from Scad and I’m thankful to have them and still talk to them after the quarter is over, but majority professors I’ve had to deal with only care about getting a big pay check. Make sure to look at if you want to go to a quarterly school or ones that work semester wise because Scad is quarterly and sometimes it goes by a little too fast. Scad is a great name on paper but if your gut is telling you that another option could be better I would say listen to it.

I go there, Its amazing and such a good experience. Its really good for paying attention to students and helping you grow and learn. A lot of professors really wont continue the lecture until everyone gets it. I really recommend it, if anyone wants to ask questions so get another POV, I'm an Illustration major and know friends in other majors so hit me up too.

Aromanov G I want to go there but it’s hard since they want u to apply with skills and portfolios but I don’t have any of that I want to major in interior decorating but idk how to get in I was hoping to transfer from another school so I can get skills by then to join
@@mrsbreazy7413 That would totally work, but also, they look at grades more so, like my grades in high school were ok, but I got a D in English and had to explain why and send a portfolio, so they look at everything. Its hard to prove interior decorating in a portfolio

This is so interesting to watch! I’m a communications design major at FIT in New York and it was really interesting seeing how different art schools approach projects. In my freshman year, I took design studio 1 and it was all black and white projects focused on simple shapes and stuff like that haha

I’m an elearning graphic design major at SCAD! I had communications, digi com, and color theory this past quarter. Color theory was truly a class I despised passionately. My teacher was awesome no complaints about them. All we did was paint and I hate painting. I love drawing and primarily focused on drawing classes prior coming to SCAD so I wish it was drawing based. There were many nights I wanted to have a full on breakdown over the painting assignments. Then realized I didn’t have time for that lol. I was even happier that towards the end to do assignments concerning transparency we got to use photoshop. Your digi assignments seem similar to what I had to do as well. Not going to lie for my logo I chose to do my initials mainly because it was something I would do but also saved me time for other assignments. I was really looking forward to winter break and am now ready for second quarter. I miss being busy and having something to think about. Time management was also a struggle for me and my grades overall weren’t bad... however I just want to be able to enjoy my assignments rather than feel rushed due to the workload.

I am a third year scad student I must tell you that all of the people i met freshman year have pretty much all dropped out almost no one can handle the workload. You need to have passion and drive to work your way through this school. Alot of people waste a good 10 weeks of their life and a cool 60k going here for 1 quarter only to realize that its too much. Think hard about coming here. I love it but its tough.
I had decided not to go after getting in because the tuition is so much money! It was my dream school but even with their scholarship (only about 5 thousand) it still was so much money!
Going to SCAD this FAAAAAALL, I’m just so grateful and excited! Let’s do this 💓🤩

I'm a film student at SCAD! It's actually a lot of fun and there's so many facilities that are so nice to have easy access to. The professors are AWESOME in the film program and there's so much support. While SCAD isn't perfect, it definitely has its pluses and the film course has sooo many pluses.

I got really worried seeing a bunch of scad portfolios from artists that were majoring in stuff like animation and illustration with gorgeous art that I doubt I'll be able to match in my freshmen year if I'm lucky enough to get the scholarships to afford to go. Seeing your art, it's really good! And it's also something I could actually _do_ , which really brought my spirits up
ofc that isn't to say your art is necessarily lesser than theirs, you're going into something completely different than illustration so I hope it didn't come off as playing down your art x0
I would love to see a review of the school. I got accepted to SCAD and visited it last weekend and I loved the city/campus! I’m interested in knowing what the workload is and the pros/cons of going there. For me the biggest con is the price, but I was told that they provided scholarships throughout the year to help. I’ll be entering in Fall 2020 if I don’t decide to go to a community college for the first year. :)
Oh!! and I want to major in 3D animation or CGI. Maybe minor in business or concept artwork. I’m very passionate so I wouldn’t mind a hard workload!

@@giselle7991 Honestly, I didn’t. I would’ve started around the beginning of COVID and they were charging full cost of tuition, but we all had to be online for months.
It’s an extremely expensive school, so I am glad I changed my mind before making the investment. Artwork is still my passion, but I am motivated to do freelance and pursuing a different degree :)
However, I don’t want to sway your opinion about anything since I never went. I was always apprehensive about private art schools and there’s always cheaper options to achieving your dream jobs or pursuing an art degree! I am doing fine freelance at the moment, but I can always try to find public schools or non-art schools if I ever want a degree in it.
I was also able to get a lot of scholarships that SCAD and other places provided. It still wasn’t enough to cover the tuition + financial aid lol..
This video was so helpful and reassuring! I currently study industrial design with an emphasis on visual communication/digital communication and I swear I'm not good at drawing at all and kinda suck at craftsmanship so it's nice to see someone studying similar things that is way better than me lol but still struggles with these :(

I think you have a lot of room for improvement, but I guess that's what art school is for: you don't have to be Picasso when you're entering so give yourself time and I'm sure you'll get so much better :) It's all practice! Glad that you have fun doing it, that's also all that really matters :)

I think that first project would’ve been better if all of the photos were all the same hue, I get what ur going for but if for example that photo of u was more warm toned it would’ve been been more cohesive but I love your work I just naturally critique lmao
