@@xelzpBasically you do more damage more heavy hits and farther knock back and you give the opponent bleed affect for 1 second and you don't need anything special or specific to use it just hit them and I think it does a lot more to with the black flash
Btw, for wet and fire, you heavy attacks ALWAYS inflict the status effect, even without divergent fist, divergent fist just makes your m1s also process it

Reccomend grinding bosses, and using a common food buff (forgot what it's called) gives 25% XP for 3 minutes (stacks up to 10 minutes)
or go the dark path and use exploits to get lvl 420 in 20 minutes
