  • Check out the new Diamond Mounter merch!
cbilton.creato... Regular viewers of the Diamond Mounter channel will be familiar with paper discs. Im using them in nearly all my videos.
They are essentially a flat disc of sandpaper with a hole in the middle.
Designed as dentistry equipment but they are also useful when making jewellery.
You can smooth out file marks and even get surfaces to a near polished finish in difficult to reach areas.
It would not be possible to work as quickly and as accurately as I do with out them.
I wonder what other tools dentists have that we can use?!

Check out the new Diamond Mounter side channel!
    Its called 'Diamond Mounter Clips'
Its compiled of short clips taken from previous videos to
highlight useful techniques and information I was teaching.
No intros, no outros just straight to the essence of what
    was useful in the video!
    I am now on Patreon!
With patrons support I will be able to offer far more information than I am currently able to.
With nearly 25 years of knowledge gained in the jewellery trade working with some of the best diamond mounters in the UK I can train practitioners of jewellery making, up to and far beyond the skill level found in High Street jewellers workshops.
Become a classic patron you will not only be able to view part 2 of full instructional guides but also be thanked personally on the next youtube upload! You will also have access to all future uploads 2 weeks before they go live on youtube.
Official patrons have all the benefits of a classic patron but also gain access to regular exclusive content. Behind the scenes, personal jewellery projects Im working on, I share ideas for future videos, photos and stories from throughout my career as a professional jeweller.
Also Official patrons are welcome to suggest ideas for future videos and contact me anytime if they need advice for their own jewellery making endeavors.
Classic patronage is just £5 a month and to become official costs only £10 a month.
I believe this is great value.
As the number of full instructional guides continues to grow the value will be even more considerable!

There is now a new entry level tier which costs just £1 a month.
Its named the supporter tier which allows you to support the channel with out any substantial financial obligation. I will thank you personally on the next Diamond Mounter video uploaded!
All new entire Diamond Mounter full instructional guides are reserved for classic and official patrons of the channel only.
Part 1 of the guides will be available on youtube and part 2 will only be available through the Diamond Mounter patreon account.
The full instructional video guides are very in depth and clearly show all techniques and tools used at every stage to make the piece being taught.
The full guides are commonly over 2 hours long.
Please click the link to be taken to the Diamond Mounter patreon page where you can join.

I have been lucky enough to have been taught by actual Bond Street shop model makers and my ambition is to share what I have learned through out my career to as many people as possible.
My vehicle to do this is the Diamond Mounter RUclips channel and its time to take it up a level.
My ambition is to be able to make instructional videos with not just silver, but gold and platinum also. Some proper jewellers soldering equipment will enable me to create much more special pieces too! This will open up a whole new world of information I have to share.
There are many specific methods and techniques used for the different precious metals and knowledge about gemstones I can teach that will never enter my videos unless I am actually working with them.
I hope you will consider becoming a patron!

I use something very close except the ones I have include a small brass center with a square hole in the center and it comes with a mandrel with a matching square (split) center that allows you to click the disc into place. The square prevents any spinning of the disc.

If you use two sanding discs back to back, one strengthens the other, and you simply flip them when one becomes worn.

Really appreciate your vids! Started jewlery making about a year ago using only RUclips as a source of information and actually gained a following on social media leading to a few tool sponsors and ppl wanting to buy my jewlery. Really small scale as of yet but very enjoyable!
