This is not a normal video for me. I found the camera wasn't getting the footage as I would like therefore editing took 7 hours! I hope you guys enjoy and I will look to better these type videos in the future. I may need to watch more videos from "1320 Video" to get a feel for his style.

I'm in for all of the racing as I use to run D/G 55-Chevy back in 1967 & 68 and loved every second of it ! ! ! Once racing gets into your blood, it is their for ever ! ! ! ! !
Those gassers are cool. It’s amazing how hard and violent some of the cars leave. The last hundred feet has to be scary in s straight axle car too. Thanks for the trip
Some of the speed wobbles looked pretty violent with those straight axle front ends!

Sorry to here that but I’m glad you enjoyed me sharing the video.
Dad used to take me to the drag strip in Humble, Texas back in the early 70's. I used to see a lot of these gassers and front engine dragsters. Nothing like snow cones, loud engines, the smell of burning ethyl, copious amounts of tire smoke, and a cheering crowd at the drag strip on a Saturday afternoon.
Thoroughly enjoy that video very much .. thanks for sharing with us .. love that style racing an the girls in the tall white boots an skirts make the day that much more enjoyable too 👍👍lol

My brother was there in the Super Stock class with his 63 Fairlane he's good friends with the driver/owner of the 4Speed Stampede 65 Plymouth wagon

@@TheGasTap I believe it was a 1940's model. suicide rear doors, bench seat with a rack and pinion adjustment, you could just about walk around inside it. lol.

LOL, here in North Carolina I drive 15 miles to Mooresville Dragway and 60 miles to Shadyside Dragway to see The Southeast Gassers race. Same thing when I race my car. So the Gassers were awesome, right?

I started drag racing in 1957 at US 30 in Gary Indiana. The car club I belonged to ran the strip, and my two oldest sons grew up at the strip, my wife collected spectators fee . A real family affaire!
That’s awesome. I hope I can go more frequently after some finishing touches on the car. I used to race every weekend but that was 10 years ago. Time to get back to it.
