As a Healthcare worker here in Calgary, four acute care Hospitals is no longer enough to keep up with the growing population. It’s a very stressed out system with long waits in the ER’s.
Very true. And the city is growing exponentially with migration increasing from abroad and inter-provincially. These are certainly challenges with a city that is growing.
Thanks for the insightful video, I am really keen about safety. What are the chances of one getting attacked by an animal? I am considering relocating to Calgary, but the animal presence is giving me second thoughts. I cant deal with Bears.
Hi Oladipo. The chances of being attacked by an animal is pretty much zero. Bears generally don't wonder into the city and when they do it is into area on the edge of the city. You will be completely safe!
I graduated from the University of Calgary. And i have not had an office job for 3 years after graduation. I applied for 100s of jobs and only got 3 interviews. I moved to ontario and got a job within 3 months. I recently got hired remotely for a job in alberta but the work environment was so toxic. The work colleagues were very unfriendly and non communicative. The bosses barked orders. It used to be the opposite in alberta. The employers know jobs are limited so they use fear to keep them in line. I have been in construction management. In contrast the work environment in ontario was very relaxed with very good work life balance.
Calgary did go through some very lean years after 2015. When did you graduate? And I'm sorry that was your experience. It was certainly a competitive employment market during those lean years.
@Life in Calgary Alberta i graduated in 2014. I struggled to find work for 3 years after that i moved to ontario. The job market in ontario was and still is super hot. For reference i have put my availability on linkedin for jobs in alberta and ontario. I get few jobs enquiries on linked in ontario every week. I have got one enquiry in alberta since last summer. And this is without applying. When i apply, i get approached by recruiters 99% for ontario. But in alberta 5% response. Im in construction management.
@Life in Calgary Alberta well, all i can say is my resume is good as i can easily get interviews in ontario. I guess I just don't grovel or come off as desperate for the alberta employers.
I've promised to be truthful on my channel. I want people to understand the all the good and the challenges. I don't want to lie, but please don't think this means I don't like Calgary. I've lived in many places and I've made Calgary my home! It's a great place to live, even with the small challenges, and all cities have challenges. 🙂
It will certainly depend on your industry. Edmonton is considered to have more of a 'blue collar' work force while Calgary is considered more 'white collar'. I have a video coming up in a few weeks time that you may find interesting. Stay tuned.
Great informative video thanks
Thank you, Afaq! It's really a pretty great place to live!

And, I've never seen a bear in the city other than seeing one on the edge of the city on the news in somebody's tree. This isn't a regular occurrence.

This is a different way of campaigning for Calgary

Calgary has a woke mayor
All I can say is that this guy has never been to Montreal😅
🤣Actually, I have been to Montreal. I loved it, but I don't like all of the taxes in Quebec. It is a great city, though.
It is not easy for a man to speak so long time alone.
But don't lose your heart, after some time you will be good at it.
You should make a video. I see 0 on your channel.
I dont like Calgary edmonton more opportunity
