  • After an eventful first day at Sapa with visit to Fansipan and Cat Cat Village, I decided to head into Sapa Town to hunt for a particular Sapa Chestnut Cake (Bánh hạt dẻ) to bring back with me and also enjoy a nice ethnic dinner which was one of my goal for this visit to Sapa, Vietnam.
    The hotel helped me arranged for a caddie ride into Sapa town and the driver dropped me off at the lake. I wandered around for a bit looking for the Sapa Chestnut Cake which I was ultimately successful in getting 2 boxes but communication with the seller was a challenge indeed. After walking around for a bit, I decided to stop by Le Gecko Café for a drink. I sat outside to enjoy my fruit drink while people watching.
    For dinner, I walked over to Anise Sapa Restaurant close by and ordered their Sauteed H'mong Smoked Bacon with Village Vegetable and Garlic for VND 165,000 or USD 7.00 or MYR 32.00 and the dish was stellar and authentic Sapa. I enjoyed it immensely plus their service was superb too.
    After which I stopped by a local convenience store to get some drinks and walked back to Sapa Vista Hotel to cap a fun filled packed day in Sapa which I will always remember.

      A bit touristy no doubt but still has its charms. If time permits, consider staying at the village homestay

And you are right, the alley passing Anise Sapa Restaurant leads you directly to your hotel. My goodness, how I miss Sapa already. Have a memorable time there Kim and as always, safe travels!

      @@dropin409 sadly not via Grab. It is serviced by local riders and you can get your hotel to call a buggy for you or they are usually located at certain areas like the church open area.

    how long will it take use to walk thru end to end of sapa town?

    • @WanderEats
      @WanderEats  Месяц назад +1

      The entire Sapa town is approximately 4km only but due to the winding roads, small roads at certain section of town and plenty of uphill and downhill, It would probably take 50mins to walk from one end to the other. There are plenty of transport options available though.

      I visited in mid-July of this year so it was summer. Sapa in winter or specifically Jan will be even more beautiful but book early if you are keen because the locals love it just as much... lol! Happy travels Ian!

      awesome Jay... so envious of you enjoying Sapa right at this moment. I think 5 days sounds about right but I did keep it in the fridge for a week and it was fine. Once I took it out, it was all gone in minutes... lol
