    Oh man….in all honesty this is working - no, it’s not a “cure”….it’s relief! Seriously, I think for everyone it is different, but for me, I checked the 18k, the 15k, and some of the sweeping vids…..but this is it. So that means that for other people, other vids will be the right one. I encourage all of you reading this to check the various videos, don’t give up, find your frequency and you’ll get some relief. I’m wishing ALL my fellow tinnitus sufferers (with a shout out especially to you musicians reading this who are dealing with tinnitus while trying to maintain your creativity and drive) relief and peace. Cheers everyone!!!

      BC Drummer, Assuming you're a drummer, I'm also a drummer in search of ear protection. What have you found to be the best protection when playing? I've read some about noise cancelling earphone or ear buds. I'm not up on this stuff if anyone can help out.

      @@bpierce4884 First and foremost, learning not to bash too loudly, and being able to have a rational conversation with other players if they are playing too loud - and there is definitely such a thing as ‘too loud’. But as for protection, if you just go on amazon and type it in you’ll see lots of options for ear protection and IMO any of them work. I got my tinnitus due to a monitor engineer accidentally blasting my ear when I was leaning down right by the monitor……hope you find what works for you my friend!!

    I’m gradually understanding what these sounds are doing. When people talk about masking their tinnitus I didn’t get it because it’s not a real noise that destructive interference could ever work. But listening to a similar frequency, which is near to mine, for sure, and there’s no cancelling here, but it takes the sound outside my dead, or nearly, there’s still a component inside if I make the mistake of listening for it, checking whether this is The One, but thank you so much - outside is better than inside, less desperate, less of a personal isolating
    torment.

    As someone who's struggled with Tinnitus & Hyperacusis for 20 years, I just want to thank you SO much for making these different sounds. You have helped more than any audiologist has ever been able too. The in-ear white noise sound generators that are made for us just don't have the available sounds or frequencies.
    I was recommended your page today on a Tinnitus Facebook group, and for the first time EVER, I've now finally got a sound that matches my Tinnitus.

    didin't know this was a thing, now i understand why i always end up pumping up this high frequencys on my EQs, also notice that high volumes on 2hz to 4hz make it worse (can't listen to some iron maiden albums at normal volume for example, have to low it down), i even end up buying headphones with this caracteristics without knowing lol, thanks for taking the time to upload this on yt

      Why would you pump up? if you have 16khz tinnitus then that means you are hearing 16khz when no 16khz. so you should actually pump down volume. Please explain.

    Thanks again Dale, haven't been listening long but this seems to match the current ring in my ears, have it on slightly lower volume, a bit harder to distinguish between the ringing and the video than other videos so far, not helping so much yet, but only a few minutes in. Its oddly comforting just to hear that high pitched sound coming from an audible outside source.

    It may be purely psychological, but these white noise videos always makes my tinnitus essentially "dampen" for about 30 seconds after listening for a bit (like how turning down the gain lowers the feedback on a poorly grounded amp). This frequency really nailed it and had provided me a moment of silence that was really great. I've taken much better care of my ears in the past few years, but it looks like silence is now a fleeting concept.
    Wish everyone here the best please use ear protection even a few minutes of exposure can do damage!

    This one sounds so different. I’ve started to notice something that may be big news to some and commonplace knowledge to others. I’ve always been a chronic nail biter. I was chewing😂 my nail in bed and then went outside to gaze at stars and look at the stars and moon w my binoculars. Then, outside, I noticed my tinnitus was really loud and there were two tones. This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed it got louder after biting my nails. So it looks like I can’t even chew my nails even a little. It’s making my tmj worse which in turn is making my tinnitus louder! Ugh!

      I get you completely. I had surgery on my TMJ joint. I find if I am anxious I grind my teeth which in turn makes the joint ache and tinnitus louder as does anxiety . I had a plastic brace made to put over the teeth to wear at anxious times and it relaxes the joint and tinnitus is quieter. Hope this helps 😅

    I have a question : I'm 54, I know I can't hear frequencies above 14 KHz (I made tests), but I can clearly hear this 16 KHz noise.... Can you explain that ? Thanks.

    • @dalesnale
      @dalesnale  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes indeed. The reason is because noise is naturally wider in the frequency spectrum than the pitch or note of a single frequency would be. (Noise and pitch are two different types of sound that make up all the sound in our world). So the noise is boosted at this frequency and a bit of the nearby frequencies above and below the frequency are lifted like a bell curve on a graph. Also, because the nature of this noise is so high, and many of of do not have hearing this high, a little bit of the lower frequencies are in there tapering off so that everyone knows the sound is present and because it smooths out the listening experience.

    Recently i found out there are a lot of vids like this and some try to explain how to find your frequency. But, most say that you have to "match your frequency" and i dont understand what it means by that. Does it means that i stop hearing the noise completely as i do close to 17k or that it vibrate my ears and make me flinch a bit like multiple frequencies do to my ears between 6k and 12k ?
    Also my tinnitus is like a nightime cacophony of crickets and cicadas and frogs and toads and birds from the forests in Puerto Rico. So i asume it varies of many many frequencies and tones. Its been difficult to me to find the exact tone and frequency. Im looking for help.

    I am a Targeted Individual since 1985 and tinnitus just came 1st so loud in one afternoon. By 1993 the voices in the air came. Both tinnitua pitch and voices in the air did not stop until this day of 2022. The voices sometimes argue with me. And aometimes I made them into extreme anger. But my tinnitus sounds like the Cicada. Not near to this sound pitch.

      Hello.
      I got 2 weeks ago tinittus.
      On most forums and youtube videos it is not curable.
      However, I got a hope and my tinittus is slighltly lower now implementing the carnivore diet, cold showers, dry fasting (no food, no water for minimum 24 h).
      I have excluded all fruits, caffeine, carbohydrates, vegetables.
      Go on the youtube Page of "Liam Stop tinittus". It seems like this is the way to go to get silence back.

      It means people with tinnitus in the 16kHz area can use this to mask their tinnitus.

    No idea what I should be looking (listening) for. Tinnitus for minimum of 15yrs, whatever I'm listening to in the first few mins makes my ears want to explode, so... Do other frequencies show up later in the video, or they're on other videos? Video doesn't explain, ppl's comments elude to. :/

    • @dalesnale
      @dalesnale  Год назад +1

      Noise masking is part of tinnitus retrainment or habituation for many forms of tinnitus, but does not work for all types. The videos in the series are that sound frequency throughout. There are different frequencies and variations in each video with the idea that one or two will be a match for different listeners. Listening to the noise at a low volume that is a close match to ringing sound may offer relief by about third. Some videos explain in the intro and there is a podcast on the channel with Dr Ben Thompson explaining deeper. His Treble Health channel is also a great resource for in depth information.
