The Role of an Elder's Wife | Andrew Selley

In this session, a helpful resource for both elders and their wives, Andrew Selley takes a closer look at the role of an elder’s wife. He explains that, even though she is not the elder, the elder’s wife is one flesh with her husband and has therefore been anointed by God to be his co-worker. The way in which she helps and supports her husband may look different in different seasons (e.g. when they have young children). Ultimately, however, an elder and his wife are called to serve God’s Kingdom together. Andrew also encourages elders’ wives to attend, and speak up in, elders’ meetings. Their (and other women’s) voices are important and, while not setting the direction for the church, can strongly influence the direction.
