What’s up guys and gals, I’m Kage848. I love to make videos for RUclips, mostly early access survival games like 7 Days to Die, Empyrion, Raft, Mist Survival, The Forest, and more! I also dabble in City Builders and strategy games like Civilization 5, Civilization 6, Dawn of Man, Stonehearth, Factorio and Rim World. I do at least two videos everyday of mainly tutorials, let’s plays and general gameplay footage. Thanks for watching my videos.

The difficulty is based on how many players are on. If you are solo its built for 1 player, if you have more players it scales up difficulty.
the table and chair would of given you bigger bonus, so sad to see you smash them up :'(
Did I miss something here?
KAGE, did u hang the Bonemass trophy in the glowing red circle and get the new ability?
Or did u get distracted by a Troll and an update?
That was so frustrating... He was right there and just walked past 🤦♂️
He did it last episode... #relax
@@JohnHendricks05 really? Must have missed it... Could have sworn he just went by it... Will have to go rewatch
@@JohnHendricks05 nope, you're wrong. It wasn't glowing in this episode either.
@@gunna2cool :)
The wishbone thing pings almost constantly once you're right above the treasure/silver. Keep walking around until it is almost constant.
I mean, seriously... who doesn't understand this ping mechanic?
Kage is blind lol
18:57 Looks for wolf pelt, pelt is right in front of him.
22:18 Looks for drake drop, drake's body clearly *poofed* on the upper left of his screen @_@
He has severe tunnel vision.
Chopping the fine wood table isn't something you want to do as it contributes to comfort. Also take 4 deer hide for an extra comfort for mini comfort bases.
Frostner is a 1 handed, so its basically the silver mace. its really good too
I prefer lvl 4 iron sledge because of aoe dmg
difficulty is decided by number of players in a seed. ur single player adventures are safe.
This might apply on paper but SP is waaaay harder......still only getting solo bosses with 4/5 players
Seems pretty fuckin tough to me! Haha
to be fair i may have overprepared for Moder. built a bunker that's 4 slabs thick on all sides and just gunned him down with the draugr bow and all the poison arrows i've gathered during my swamp spelunking (about 200) had 6 stacks of food (fish, meat, sausages, 2 each) and a stack of frost resist, healing and stamina pots. never even got to use the healing pots. half the bunker was gone when i killed him tho.
They deff beefed him up allot. I had all my iron gear upgraded to max, poison potion etc all the works and I struggled so bad lol 😂
Man I just got done building a 6 story tree house with so many different sections and balconies in the swamp. Thought I would hate the swamp biome
Great vid, really liked this one plus I almost spit out my drink when you said " probably won't freeze in here 'specially if you're on fire" lol
The Fangspear is another silver weapon that you missed
A wolf fur cape needs 6 wolf fur, 4 silver and 1 wolf trophy. It gives you frost protection so you can run around safely.
The silver veins have interesting shapes, make sure you follow them and mine it all. You will want a metric ton of silver. :)
The difficulty on this game scales to the amount of people in youre game so dont worry about them balancing it to multiplayer they are already seperate
Keep your eyes peeled for obsidian. It is everywhere in the mountains but looks like ordinary but slightly more angular rocks. Obsidian is my go-to arrow now for base damage and they are easy to produce (feather, wood, obsidian x4). Fire arrows just don't do enough base damage as the game goes on. Still keep a stack for trash mobs around meadows base though. Also, silver deposits are all three-pronged in shape. Like three legs jutting from a center. If you mine around the silver formation it lets you see all the silver you can mine (won't miss any) and digs a pit enemies can't easily reach you in. Get a wolf cloak asap btw.
You should go for Frostner. It is onehanded so you can use your shield.
Came here to point this out as well. When I first saw the stats and was comparing it to the 2-hander. I was thinking it was a terrible upgrade. Then saw it was a 1-hander....
actually porcupine is better so he should go for that, it does more damage to the harder enemies in the plains, which is where he would struggle. He doesnt struggle killing ghosts and spirits...He will need the porcupine if he wants to get the 5 totems
@@fuckyoutube420 Porcupine requires flax which requires you to go to the plains in the first place..... Gone severely need that frostner until then
2 poison arrows kills drakes with Finewood bow.
FYI: if you break that chest, the pinging stops
Frostner is the silver mace. It's one-handed.
the frostner its amazing, its slow enemies and its great against undead enemies, and its one handed so you can use it with a shield.
The wolves are much worse when there is a pack, they don't seem to have much HP, but their damage is high and they attack fast... it drains your stamina quickly when trying to block their attacks.
You dig when it starts beating fast dude
I do hope they don't adjust it towards multi-player. My biggest complaint against WoW (which I played for over 10 years) was that it is impossible to achieve anything worthwhile unless you're in a group, that eventually got me to give up the game for good, pug's suck, guilds fall apart and it's just too disheartening.
I'm sorry I didn't mean the next Hammer was so I'm loving this series but please shoot the bow on camera for your first reaction that has a special thing with it
Valheim is a Viking game right? Where are the Vikings besides your character? Actual Viking enemies instead of weird looking creatures would be nice. Also the way things die in this game is extremely weird. I’ve never killed anything and had it explode and then disappear. Not very realistic
You owned that Golem, some good parry and whacks going on :)
Hey, I learned from someone that you can set up like 6 cooking spots over 1 fire, so your 4 fire pits seem silly unless you really need to cook 48 food all at the same time. I did 5 and it was OK, I mean to be fair I cook indoors and I did burn a couple but it was much faster than doing 2 at a time.
Kage will be mining silver forever to upgrade the armor to max, but suggested now that they boosted Moder. I fought him before and after the patch and there is a noticeable difficulty change.
I'm not too sure if they buffed the bosses for solo players. I know the game adjusts for each added player on a server so I believe that's the only thing they changed.
I fought bonemass and moder couple days before the change, then went back after with the same armor, weapons, food and potions I had when fighting each of them. And tbh it seemed a little easier, could be because I had a couple extra days of practice with added skills and also because I was nervous the first time I did them, but if they did buff them it should have been at least the same difficulty if not more as I did before ...
how you liking that Bonemass boss bonus?
Hey dude really like your vids, made for the common man.
Dig the fun and your excitement, it makes me wanna play even more!
You one shot the one wolf because you parried it's attack with your shield and stunned it.
Make the wolf cape first and cold is non issue, won't need more frost resistence.
There's silver armor that needs wolf hide, so tame two of them now. You need a ton of wolf skin.
The silver veins wrap around shaped like a tube or snake. So once you know the shape it makes it easy to not miss any.
Frostnere is the mace, it's not two handed, and it's tits.
Would you consider building a dope outpost into the side of the mountain? A nice carved out space that is naturally protected by the landscape, leaving only the entrance that needs to be defended
I'm trying this right now, it's a monumental build, and really hard because I found that at a certain point there's some sort of "core" to the mountain where you cannot mine through it....so to get that "cut into the mountain" base, you have to cut away what you can to a point then make a plan to raise and expand the mountain itself to give you the affect of it being cut into it, mine is going to have a deep cut in front, stone stairs, high thick outer wall, tier it up a bit, lesser wall inside of which will be the keep but its going to take alot of time and alot of stones
Even with unlimited resources it would be a pain in the arse quite frankly...I don't expect to complete it anytime soon 🤣
Farm copper? You do dig down to get all the copper because just a tiny bit is on the surface. Of course you never show us so who knows what you do.
Hell yeah they beefed him quite a lot :D I was thiniking I can take him after your last video and he kicked me 4 times a row with full regen on him tome to grind :D
You are aware if not yet likely soon, that wolves come in packs as well as solo. I know it seems silly now to post the obvious.
OH, and I learned that the trader can be on the starting island so I am sorry that I posted bad info previously. I should try that seed just to see if it is still valid.
Use pickaxe to defeat stone golem, it shattered him, don't aiming for silver or obsidian first, better find resources to make wolf cape so u dont have to waste freeze potion materials later on
7:30 this turned into Skyrim all of a sudden, lol. DRAGON!
Your major mistake was when choosing to ditch pinecombs instead of the crystals which weighs a shit ton of weight.
You should get a mod that allows you to grow plants 🪴, and the mod valhiem plu mod for Metter single player.
they should do what diablo does, as people join the world the enemies get harder by a percentage per person on the server. but also add better loot drops as well. more risk more reward type of thing going on. That would be a cool addition
i havent made it to the third boss yet, but i hope they made it harder since this video, cuz i mean....a boss should be hard, and shouldnt be easier then things you encounter in the plains or mountains..
Castle Greyskull, Iron Castle
looks so arcadie with the numbers coming off the rocks when you hit it ,looks nothing like a survival game huge thumbs down from me sorry
You can make as I understand a cape so you don't need the frost protection potions. I bet you already knew that.
Remember that this game is not a solo game. It is meant to be play with more than one person. So having more ppl is relatively easy
You can grow berries and such, I saw it on another video
You cannot plant or move them, however, if you find the berries growing, that bush will produce again so if you fence them in you can claim them as your own
Single player as well bud don't got time for multiplayer anymore
I think bosses should be balanced based on the number of players in the game
Think of the wishbone as a metal detector the more it beeps The closer you are
Kage , you have to wear that Drake helmet . It looks so dope .
Yes you do
New bow does poison damage. No matter what kind of arrows ur using
all the drakes be like" and i know when that wishbone bling"
Wow your mountain is soooo much smoother than ours... ours is mostly cliff faces. I took the time to carve a zig zag path. =) Lox pelt and like 2 silvers will keep you warm btw. Cheapest route... anyway, streamers get a lot of crap for sucking, but you do have some skillz... nice shooting.
cheapest/easiest route is wolf cloak. Wolves die in 1 hit if you parry them
Yo Kage, so you've officially passed my progression. I can go to the mountains but haven't gone yet. Been focused on base upgrades and building refinement lol. That being said...Priorities the Wolf Cloak and you wont need any more Frost Resist potions again =) That's my plan anyway...Fur, Silver, Wolf Trophy iirc the requirements for it. Do ya thang bro. Great content as usual. Oh...Difficulty is based on people on the Seed...single player is as "Easy" as it gets where I can only assume multiplayer gets more hectic. (I'm SP only atm so can't speak for MP) I've seen a lot of ppl jump on top of the Golem's and use the pick axe on em. Again, just from what I've seen haven't experienced yet lol
Kage- "Burn baby burn..."
Me- "Draco inferno!"
Kage- "Drake inferno..."
my friends - LOL, don't fall for it...they are all in my imagination ;-)
- I heard they nerfed bow damage to bosses, so the frost arrow strategy vs bonemass might not work anymore.
- 9:21 Best weapons do deal with Stone Golems are pickaxes. (Although their are resistent to other piercing and slashing dmg.) If you want some risky fun, you can jump on the golems from high ground and then pickaxe them.
- Making a Wolf fur Cape, is very helpful for the mountains, since it gives you permanent cold resistance. The Wolf Armor Chest does too, but the cape gives you more flexibility, when you want to change armor, later.
- Frostner as one-handed non-AOE hammer, is eqivalent to the iron mace (not the 2-handed AOE Iron Sledge). Club, Mace and Frostner are all 1h blunt weapons, governed by the club skill. Frostner is in almost all situations better than the silver sword, and in some situations the best one-handed weapon, period. Your club=mace=hammer skill, being much higher than your sword skill, makes Frostner even more superiour to the swords.
- Assuming the same skill, an upgraded silver sword is a bit more powerful against, non-skeletized undead (drauger and the 5th boss) than an upgraded Frostner. So the silver sword is a very niche thing. Maybe objectively useful, if you plan to raid a hundred sunken crypts to get tons of iron for building. Otherwise more a collectors, completionists or representative weapon.
Kage if you are really concerned about stamina listen to comments for the 4ooth time. Press "R" to sheath/stow weapons. That does NOT mean remove them from your hotbar. It just means while you run around stow weapon and shield on your back and you drop their move speed penalty and you use less stamina when running/jumping. And they are a single button press from drawing both if attacked.
Already have my full wolf armor up to lvl 3. And its higher strength than iron armor. I thought mountains were easy. Even killed a Golem. BTW once you kill Bonemass you open the dragon base attacks.
Great vid! Keep up the good work!
Hey. Am not all caught up yet on the valheim videos or read the comments so...probably already mentioned but here it goes.
I used your seed and once I was ready for the Bronze Age I decided to try making a “cart road” to the three copper nodes near the troll cave.
It wasn’t as bad as your commentary seemed to think it would be.
It took probably 5 game days. I built an outpost at the edge of the Black Forest and at the entrance of the troll cave and left a could of workbenches along the route for quick cart repairs. Vastly sped up the mining and transportation process.
Thing about enemy scaling is that for every player that joins, the harder it actually becomes. Enemy HP and how much damage they do is increased slightly for each person who joins. Bonemass was still easy on solo in Bronze 3 armor....
best way to deal with difficulty in multiplayer is same way diablo has the difficulty. the more players join server the more difficult the bosses get. or atleast like that the server owner could implement it on and off if they choose to
and also that the boss difficulty could be determined also implementing a radius around the boss that if there is more players the boss gets harder
You don’t need to be under shelter for the rested buff - you can throw a campfire down anywhere in the open (don’t even need a workbench) and sit next to it (press X). After 30 seconds or so you’ll get the buff for about 8 mins.
You only need an active fire (comfort level of 1) to get a rest bonus. Just sit next it for 30secs for an 8 min bonus. Being sheltered, increases the comfort level to 3 which will give you a 10 min rest bonus. The higher the comfort level, the longer the rest bonus. Max is somewhere around 25mins.
For silver deposit, dig all around the ore. These are pretty big deposits that extend a ways usually in a T shape. Each node should give like 100 silver.
Also, to get some good thumbnail photos and any cinematic shots, if you hit F5 to open console command, type "imacheater" and then type "freecam" to detach your camera off your player.
Hey Bud! Love the videos you actually got me into trying this game out and now I can't stop playing! Hooked! On the Wolf Cape, make it! You'll never move away from it.
Need to make the wolf cape to frost resist.
Use honey for your stamina needs around base. You should be able to get 7 Beehives which is a insane amount per day. They are short, but make up for it with 5 a tick instead of 2.
Oh, for what it’s worth, I’d totally be OK with seeing you use that “ferry world” trick to transport ore and items that don’t go through portals. Everyone is doing it these days!
A game like this lives and dies by the amount of satisfaction you get from achieving something. Bosses being just a bit harder than what you would expect means that the reward from killing them is all the more valuable to the player. When the time comes where you don't feel a challenge from anything you do is time you lose interest in the game, might take a week or a month after, but when the only thing that can scare you is the falling tree you are chopping down the game gets boring fast.
Crystals have no use in the game at the minute
the wishbone has an audio/visual indicator. when you get close to treasure or buried metal, it starts dinging. It's frequency increases in speed and pitch as you get closer, and will ding high pitched, with about 1s per ding, once you're right on top of it. So try to search untill the wishbone is at it's most energic
23:50 I instinctively click on the hammer to try to repair.. i forgot i was watching a video.. not playing the game O_O
I understand that the video is a week old so you probably know this by now but for new viewers.
Difficulty is determined by the amount of players.
One wolf isn't bad at all...3-4 wolves...That's hard to block ;)
Two things. First find silver then mark it on your map, then go back later with the belt.
Second, I would build a teleporter to the top of the mountain. You cant use it to bring silver back, but you can use it to teleport back up to the silver. You can also use it to bring items to make a cart at the top of the mountain, though its less important if you are going to use the exploit to jump worlds to teleport metal
Kage is lucky - i had to cross ocean to get to bonemass and found it surrounded by pains biome (the plains) and now i need to do more ocean eksploring to find propper mountains - but i did find one egg and tamed some wolfs (no*)
You should break the chests you find in the ground. Then the sensor will stop going off for stuff you already found
You could make a bonfire close to where you are mining and save in freeze potions. Once you are done, dismantle it and take it to the next silver node.
What does the wish bone do bro
You don't need a shelter to get a rested bonus. You can get a 1 comfort rested if you just sit down next to a fire for a while. It only lasts 8 minutes, but if you are on the move it still helps out.
Press x to sit by fire and you can rest without shelter
you actually dont need to sit, you can stand
They might have adjusted the bosses for multiplayer. You need silver to make the wolf cape so you no longer freeze. You need to max out you comfort. You can do a wolf rug, deer rug, lox rug, chair with back (do not build the stool or bench), table, hearth, hanging brazier, banner, bed (or Dragon Bed), and Raven Throne. With the stuff you have unlocked you should be around 20 minutes. I would find a plains and kill some lox for the fur and meat. You could also search some islands for barnacles and make a harpoon so you can drag a serpent to shore for its meat too. If you do not want stuff attacking your base you need to build high enough so the enemies do not agro. They will only attack while you are there. Also you can fall into water and not take damage
Did you ever mount the bonemass trophy? What special ability does it give?
bonemass gives resistance three types of physical dmg. slash pierce and i forget the third.
@@lowkeyobsessedngl Probably blunt.
@@toddabbott781 yep blunt, and the last boss yagluth gives like poison or spirit and frost resistance or something similar
@@fuckyoutube420 There is supposed to be a fifth one in the plans, but the developer has not added it yet, but I hear the location is there already. I wish this game had first person too, I do not care for 3rd person. Otherwise it looks like a great game. It is doing amazing well on steam with 300k players on average. Last I heard it had sold over 3 million. I would not e surprised if it sold over 5 by now. 300k users at one time is pretty frick'n high. I'm guessing the studio is hiring like crazy right now with all this money pouring in.
@@toddabbott781 its been a fair constant 500k constant and over 4 million copies sold now
the wish bone is a hot and cold thing, it'll bleep faster the closer you get, when you're on top it will bleep like 3 or 4 times a second
You only need one piece of wolf armor to get the resistance to cold so thats why the cloak is the most popular. You can always place a teleporter just to return what loot you can then take it down later
I'm pretty sure all they did to Bonemass was to decrease his cool down slightly between melee attacks.
It is different solo, in Multi player the bosses have more HP already as in they scale.
It would take awhile but why not work with stone at the main base. Make yourself a castle.
Yeah they only beefed up the last three bosses.but i just cleared bone mass solo today for the first time and it wasnt that bad
The frostner is the silver mace, it has the same attacks as the mace and it's one handed so it's not really at all like the iron sledge or stagbreaker
Upgrade your hammer, get a whole lot more durability out of it for a couple pieces of wood
you can equip a tool or weapon without putting it in your hotbar. open inventory and right click.
Why kind of bow is that
drauger (however you spell) means undead... or zombie... that bow would most likely be a good undead killer.
There is no bow, that is especially efficient vs undead. However you can make silver arrows, that do extra dmg vs undead.
That said, the Draugr Fang is the overall best bow in the game. It does a bit more pierce dmg, than the Huntsman bow and additional poison damage, no matter what arrows you use.
Make a wolf cape and you don't need cold potions any more
I killed Bonemass kiting him around his altar with ice arrows today, seemed pretty reasonable fight
what is you bow skill?
how do you know that youre gonna get a base attack that night?
Definitely use a teleporter. Way faster to transport
The table gives a bonus to Rested. Congratulations on destroying it.
If the base is close having an extra 1 minute of resting bonus isn't much of a necessity, can run back in wait 20 seconds and refill the rested bonus.
@@krampusklaws2238 but that's exactly what he did *not* do. He destroyed the table then waited there to get the, now lesser, bonus.
