+RayanFgt I know. That whole section with orchestra starts with the bridge and goes into the verse ("Planets collide!"x4). There's only 3 chorus sections and they're the parts where M sings "Mother of all...eternity".
James Kerr They played it here in Norway on the stage tour. I hope you get to see it live sometime:) Absolutley fantastic performance by the whole band
Yes man and i love this song and requiem because this is a funny instruments we love avenged sevenfold arin illejay and the rev too they're have a different stuff drum posision
It's just like M. Shadows said, not only this song, but the whole album is tough to digest at first, but when you do, it'll be the only thing you'll wanna listen to. It's a great album, I knew they wouldn't disappoint us!
Taking my son to school every morning *this* is the song we listen to most. Favorite part being is when Matt hits the 'cuh-*lide*' part my son (who is 10) puts his hand into a fist and and hits the *cuh-lide* like a BOSS
You can't blame him. I honestly feel the same way. This band is gold. I love that they aren't going to give you the same record twice, and this album is the best they've done so far. Matt's vocals have always been good, but he definitely pushed himself in this album. Syn's solos are out of this world, Zacky's been so much more comfortable in interviews, Johnny's a genius, and Arin's a beast. This is the first A7X album that I can't have ONE favorite- all these songs are just dynamite.
He was basically saying: at first "Planets" might not appeal to the listener as much as one of the other songs, but eventually, after a while, planets starts to grow on the listener. This is atleast true for me. Lol at first the chorus sounded a bit too "dark" to me, but then about three days of listening to it occasionally, it really started to grow on me. Planets probably has my favorite solo in the album, and the chorus is awesome.
From Waking The Fallen to Hail to the King,I can never choose (at least) my top three favorite songs on an ALBUM.This is how my obsession of Avenged has grown in less than a year, and I can't imagine what would happen on their new album next year
This Song is One of the best on the Album. It's definitely in the Top 3 with Requiem and This Means War IMO... It's a Shame that they didn't play it Live Last Year.
Matt talking about how for a beginning listener, he's 100% spot on. This was their first album I heard and it caused me to go back and listen to every record, and as they climbed my list of favs I came closer to their heavier tracks, and planets is one of my favorites now.
Oh my gosh, Shadows is a big fan of Melancholia?!?! YES. One of the saddest and most amazing Lars Von Trier movies I've ever seen. Definitely recommended for those who are interested.
First impression, I was just listening, not actually listening. Then I went to it one day actually listened to the lyrics was like this is pretty fucking awesome. Read the lyrics and I was literally like "Ohmygod. The lyrics themselves, no singing involved, makes you feel as though your looking at the most powerful thing in all creation." And then the singing comes in and it's the most intense song ever, makes the listener feel powerful.
Whoever orchestrated the horn parts is a genius - they sound punchy but they're also a reference to Holst's "The Planets Suite", especially "Mars, The Bringer of War", which featured a heavenly (as Mars is the Roman God of War) or intergalactic battle. If any of you haven't checked that out, please do, it's about as metal as classical music gets.
Damn he's good. But, when I first heard it. I was kind of like "Okay. Alright. This is pretty rad. I can listen to this." Then Syn's guitar solo, when it gets suuper deep. I was just automatically like "Holy fuck yes." Now it's my favorite song. I skip to it every time I listen to their new album. Which is pretty much every single day. And then I shoot right to Hail to the King. It's a fucking rad album.
I think my 3 FAVE songs are: St. James, This Means War and Crimson Day. And like they said, it has a sort of nostalgic feeling to it. Loving the new record guys!!
This is like a grown-up City of Evil, I had the same feeling hearing Hail to the King compared to when I first heard City of Evil in 2008. It got the old-school feel, but for a 13-year-old kid without knowing much of classics. Now I had it again. Seems like Avenged is going to take the top, after all.
i agree. the first half of the album you can easily identify every song they listened to and basically replicated. Second half there are still some influences that are audible, but there's more of their own touch to the songs.
Music video should be Planets and at the "end" it should be transitioning into Acid Rain through a dark and depressing mood after all the craziness. Like it should calm down and then the beginning of Acid Rain starts.
omg im in love with the new album omg. i listen to it every day . and yes defenetly my my. i reaaaaalllly love planets and acid rain., seriously those songs have been stuck in my head for a few days but yet i still listen to it. waw. honestly im tattoed twice a7x and seize the day . and i think a7x is amazing waw. im shaking .. i love a7x till i die!!!!
You can add Crimson Day, and Acid Rain to your list as well. In an interview he said "It’s one of my favorite clean tones I’ve ever fucking heard." about Crimson Day's intro. And in respect to Acid Rain he said "To me, the last two songs, in addition to being my favorites"
What Matt said about this song might be hard for some people to digest it at first then when they get it they want to skip to this song was so me. I didn't like this song at first, now i can't stop listening to it. Great song!
i love this song, but when i started liking avenged sevenfold i started off with dear god and when i first heard planets i put it on a no listen to list but now i love it
One year later. I'm sitting here like, "A lot of famous people are dying. People are shooting up places more. World War 3 is a possibility with countries being nuked," WHEN COUNTRIES COLLIDE!!!
Before Synyster mentioned it, I absolutely KNEW they had the movie MELANCHOLIA in mind. Maybe, if this becomes a single, Kirsten Dunst, Alexander Skarskard, and Kiefer Sutherland will be in the video.
Yeah when I heard this I was like "oh this is...weird." And yet a few months later, you get "mother of all, your time is coming..." stuck in your head and you're like "I have to listen to this!"
That third chorus with the orchestra is what gives me goosebumps. Great song.
With the dual guitars? That's the bridge.
+AlexJasso100 i think he means the chorus directly before the solo
+RayanFgt I know. That whole section with orchestra starts with the bridge and goes into the verse ("Planets collide!"x4). There's only 3 chorus sections and they're the parts where M sings "Mother of all...eternity".
'I think it, uh paints a picture of ...planets...crashing into each other... hehehehh'
...You think, Johhny?!
This song needs a music video next.
next is this means way
diego santiago marinho war
If they were to make a video they should tie in Acid Rain
Now that Arin’s gone, I doubt they’re going to make a music video for it. If they were to show the drummer, that’s never going to happen.
@@JZJ7777 I wrote this comment 9 fucking years ago...
I wish they'd play this live
James Kerr They played it here in Norway on the stage tour. I hope you get to see it live sometime:) Absolutley fantastic performance by the whole band
Played it this past july in Mountain View.
Was *EPIC*.
Brooks hit the kick for every horn part during the end.
WAS FUCKING AMAZING.
James Kerr Mexico, 2016, knotfest i cry when They played it
Yes man and i love this song and requiem because this is a funny instruments we love avenged sevenfold arin illejay and the rev too they're have a different stuff drum posision
They have! Multiple times. The best is their live Hollywood performance. Search it here on RUclips
It's just like M. Shadows said, not only this song, but the whole album is tough to digest at first, but when you do, it'll be the only thing you'll wanna listen to. It's a great album, I knew they wouldn't disappoint us!
I think this is my personnal favorite of the album. Masterpiece.
The bridge always gives me the chills
Taking my son to school every morning *this* is the song we listen to most.
Favorite part being is when Matt hits the 'cuh-*lide*' part my son (who is 10) puts his hand into a fist and and hits the *cuh-lide* like a BOSS

M IS RIGHT! I didn't get Planets at first, it took a while to grow on me, after a while I loved it!
I listen to this song every day I have class on my way there, such a great song to wake up to.
What Matt said, is actually 100% correct lol
True aye, 100%
Danny Sands Can you write me what he said, because I can"t understand ?
He was basically saying: at first "Planets" might not appeal to the listener as much as one of the other songs, but eventually, after a while, planets starts to grow on the listener. This is atleast true for me. Lol at first the chorus sounded a bit too "dark" to me, but then about three days of listening to it occasionally, it really started to grow on me. Sebastian Bochniak
Thank you so much, I completely agree with this :)
00:44 Quite literally what it was like when i first heard the album. Didn't have time for it at all. Whereas now it's one of my favourites
PistolSwitchHQ Same here
The little 40 sec. Premiere of planets made me think it would be A Little Piece of heaven part two
Intergalactic vibe... Exactly! That's why this song is a masterpiece!
He said "Unique" even though it has riffs from Little Piece of Heaven... :) Favorite song on this album.
There are only so many riffs you know, at some point you have to use 1 for few times.
PLAY THIS FUCKING SONG LIVE GOOD GOD THIS WOULD BE A FUCKING HUGE HITTING SONG TO DO LIVE
From Waking The Fallen to Hail to the King,I can never choose (at least) my top three favorite songs on an ALBUM.This is how my obsession of Avenged has grown in less than a year, and I can't imagine what would happen on their new album next year
Hands down my favorite track right off the bat. I hope this is played in Vegas!
Matt hit it right on the head. I listened to Requiem, Shepherd of fire, and hail to the king so much. This song is now my new favorite.
matt described this song perfectly i love this song definitely my favorite off the album
The way Matt described it is so damn spot on!
This is exactly how I felt about this song, I love it, loved the album, 100% true.
Oh my gosh, Shadows is a big fan of Melancholia?!?! YES. One of the saddest and most amazing Lars Von Trier movies I've ever seen. Definitely recommended for those who are interested.

And then the singing comes in and it's the most intense song ever, makes the listener feel powerful.
one of my favorite solos, i´ve been working a lot on it
I love the drums on this one.
Thats crazy when they mentioned Melencholia, as soon as i heard this song thats the exact picture i imagined. Love it!
Shadows' description of the song was exactly how I felt hearing it haha. It's majestic hearing it full blast though :D
I think my 3 FAVE songs are: St. James, This Means War and Crimson Day.
And like they said, it has a sort of nostalgic feeling to it.
Loving the new record guys!!
Favorite track of the album!

This is my favorite song off the record
This is my favorite track off the album by far. I love the chorus. Shadows has really become a great singer.
You're right, Matt. I'm in love with Planets.
Such bold words when it comes from his mouth!
This song is one of my favorites on this album
Honestly my favorite song off the album, from the orchestra to the double bass. This song rules hard!
I love the song planets!!
i agree. the first half of the album you can easily identify every song they listened to and basically replicated. Second half there are still some influences that are audible, but there's more of their own touch to the songs.
Actually it is. They've said that it's a salute to The Rev, and a light to the dark in "So Far Away". St. James does refer to The Rev :)
I didn't know about it at first but now it's my favorite track on Hail to the King...second all time favorite only after Unbound.
When M was talking Syn expresion was....."be cool,Stay cool, because I don't give a fuck about that I'm wearing sunglasses in studio"
I remember in an interview with Matt he said that's its like hard rock with the imperial march and that got me really excited for this song
Planet's Collide
Shadows hit that spot on. That's exactly what happened. Listened to it a few times and now I constantly skip to it
Music video should be Planets and at the "end" it should be transitioning into Acid Rain through a dark and depressing mood after all the craziness. Like it should calm down and then the beginning of Acid Rain starts.
I rememmber when it was on the radio of teasers
I love their new album!! Arin does a amazing job on the drums, and M. Shadows can still sing with long hair!!
one of their best ever no doubt
omg im in love with the new album omg. i listen to it every day . and yes defenetly my my. i reaaaaalllly love planets and acid rain., seriously those songs have been stuck in my head for a few days but yet i still listen to it. waw. honestly im tattoed twice

Mary nailed it for me. I love this song! I love the album but Planets is the song I want to hear!
One of my favs on the album

A gold star for Johnny Christ.

Favorite song. Hands down
This is probably my favorite song off the album. No doubt.

I agree!! Definitely :)
Johnny is so awesome, as is the rest of the band
Man I love this song.
My 4 year old son loves this song!
middle is Johnny Christ (bass) and left is Arin Llejay (drums)
What Matt said about this song might be hard for some people to digest it at first then when they get it they want to skip to this song was so me. I didn't like this song at first, now i can't stop listening to it. Great song!
i love this song, but when i started liking avenged sevenfold i started off with dear god and when i first heard planets i put it on a no listen to list but now i love it
Shadows is so right! I loveee this song!!
Every single song on the album is one of Syns favourites
best song on the album one of my favorite bands this whole album is a warning for September 2015 just saying :)
One year later. I'm sitting here like, "A lot of famous people are dying. People are shooting up places more. World War 3 is a possibility with countries being nuked," WHEN COUNTRIES COLLIDE!!!
one of the best from the album
I had no troubles getting into this song. It fucking rocks!
I have to say that this is my favorite song of the album *w* so yes! Matt was right! that's the only one I would like to listen over and over! *-*
At first, this song was okay, now every time it comes on I crank that shit even louder!
Hail to the king
Before Synyster mentioned it, I absolutely KNEW they had the movie MELANCHOLIA in mind. Maybe, if this becomes a single, Kirsten Dunst, Alexander Skarskard, and Kiefer Sutherland will be in the video.
What Matt said is 100% what I thought about the song, like holy shit
+Alex Lopez ikr same here.. at first I wasn't sure what to think about it... now its probably my fav from that album
+AvatarOfGames It's my favorite of the album as well, it's quite powerful.
Yeah when I heard this I was like "oh this is...weird." And yet a few months later, you get "mother of all, your time is coming..." stuck in your head and you're like "I have to listen to this!"
Album fucking rocks!!!! Thanks for keeping it real
