This is the only piano covers page I listen to for pleasure. Ive been going back and forth through your Radiohead stuff for last few days. Really brilliant, amazing playing. Your arrangements and rhythm are top quality. Massive fan
Mr. Franklin, you’ve outdone yourself again! This could not have come at a better time, as I’ve been working on a cover of this! I didn’t know how to approach the left hand, and watching you do it has helped tremendously. I really can’t express how beautiful this cover is! You really captured the(street)spirit of this song! Its despair and beauty were conveyed perfectly. Thank you for doing such wonderful work!
Thanks for listening as always and for your very generous comment - this was lovely to read! The left hand is a lot of hard work for this song, glad this could help.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me I can feel their blue hands touching me All these things into position All these things we'll one day swallow whole And fade out again and fade out This machine will, will not communicate These thoughts and the strain I am under Be a world child, form a circle Before we all go under And fade out again And fade out again Cracked eggs, dead birds Scream as they fight for life I can feel death, can see its beady eyes All these things into position All these things we'll one day swallow whole And fade out again And fade out again Immerse your soul in love Immerse your soul in love
@@aajfranklin You’re welcome :D I have a question: Did you ever think about remaking your old Radiohead covers, like Thinker Tailor with the “new” setup? Because I love playing along your covers because I’m too lazy learning with the sheet music haha
Your covers got me back into playing the piano after I quit a few months ago, especially the weezer and Radiohead ones. Thank you so much for actually making a beautiful cover instead of a boring one with just the same repeated chords on the left hand like so many tutorial vids
I have been playing piano by ear for about 4 years coming up now, and when I listen to the dynamics of this song I can feel the emotion of sadness, joy, and the slight anger. This song has got me through dark times of my life, and I really appreciate you doing this cover! I make music if you want to check me out. I currently have 3 songs right now, and I would be glad if you checked them out, but they are more electronic and dramatic fight scenes like!
Thanks for the kind words! I listened to your song Face of the Earth and it reminded me a bit of great Super Nintendo era soundtracks like Mortal Kombat.
Thanks! The sound is not specific to this keyboard, it is a virtual instrument called Native Instruments Noire. You should be able to apply the same sound to any instrument with a MIDI output.
Your covers are great! Have you thought of covering Theo Katzman's Alls Well That Ends Well? It isn't too complicated of a song but I feel like you would do it justice!
Thank you! I usually gravitate to songs that aren't very piano heavy to begin with, because they present a satisfying puzzle to arrange for the piano. All's Well That Ends Well is piano-ready out of the box, if you like, so it hasn't struck me to arrange it. Not ruling it out, just letting you know some of my rationale for the songs I pick! I'll definitely be doing more stuff in the Vulf sphere at some point.
I wanna buy a piano and learn how to play my favorite songs so badly. Can I learn to play some Radiohead songs on piano on my own in my house in 1 year. I’d be so glad if you answer.
This arrangement of this song would be very challenging to learn in just a year. You can definitely learn some simpler songs, including some Radiohead songs, in a year if your practice consistently. Songs like No Surprises or High and Dry for example. I would strongly recommend starting with a teacher to get a good foundation in music theory and to learn proper technique so you don't hurt your wrists or back while playing. Find a teacher with a jazz or pop background. It is also possible to self teach if that's more affordable, but you must find good resources online to learn the fundamentals first before you skip to your favourite songs. Try to start with modest expectations, enjouy the process as well as the result, and you can do it if you're dedicated!
Yeah so this taught me my left hand is much weaker than my right hand lol as far as skill goes. Im use to my right hand going crazy and my left hand doing a basic pattern or a static octave. Womp womp
Took me a very long time to get this close to a recordable state because the left hand was so challenging for me, and actually even in this take there are some errors I corrected in post. I put the song away after recording this video but now I work this song a few times a week as an exercise for my left hand, which I think is helping my hand independence on other tracks I want to play. I think I could get a cleaner take now. So I recommend sticking with it if you have the patience!
Souds as if the song were allways just the piano. Stunning.
Very flattering - thank you!

Beautiful cover! Subscribed, and can’t wait to listen to more of your channel.
Thanks so much =] Many Radiohead covers for you to listen to already and more to come in future.
This is awesome! You're making me want to do more Radiohead piano covers myself, inspiring stuff!
That's great to hear, thank you! I hope you do try some!
very nice! This song is haunting and I think the piano expresses that the best. Your interpretation on top adds even more to that
Thanks very much for this generous comment ☺️

Amazing job, as always. I’d really like to see Weird Fishes/Arpeggi arranged by you
Thank you! It's only my list but it's not a straightforward one, I'll only record it when I'm happy with it.
Wonderful. Would love to hear you do Descending by The Black Crowds.
I don't know that song but I'll check it out
Your channel is a marvel and should be a lot better known. I do my bit in commenting liking subbing

Great job

You always sound perfect, but I also really like how your piano sounds. Would you please help me telling me the brand and model plz?

Soo good 👏🏽🙌🏽, when Jigsaw Falling into Place?
When I can play it well enough 😉

This is gorgeous. Do you upload your arrangements as sheet music anywhere?
I'm afraid because I compose and play by ear I have no sheet music to share and these videos are the most I can offer.
@@aajfranklin Thank you for sharing it. It's really well done!

Hello Alex, would you share what piano you use?
The piano is a Roland RD-88. The sound is a VST plugin called Native Instruments Noire that you can apply to any instrument with MIDI output.
@@aajfranklinawesome, thanks for sharing
Yeah
Hell yeah
Nice

amazing, so glad you didnt' overwork this song, most versions are too complicated in a way that it destroys the soul of the song
I always try to stay true to the feel of the original so I appreciate your observation.
