Kratos saying he likes a weapon of his (the axe) is kind of a big deal. He’s used various amount of weapons in the past but didn’t like any of them especially the blades of chaos (exile for gow 3), I think because it was Fayes axe is why he likes that weapon hehe.
It’s the only weapon that he has that probably doesn’t have any particularly bad memories attached to it, lmao
Well to be fare it was his wife axe so yeah you would also like your woman weapon right if she doesn't use it no more (like lucian)
i feel like its due to how he got it, the leviathan was simply gifted to him by his wife, he probably loves the draupnir spear as well due to it being a spartan heritage weapon and it being blessed by his friend brok
I thunk he's trying to let Atreus know how much his mother meant to him
Makes sense since the weapons he had in the past was gained through violence, while the axe was not only gifted to him but it was the only weapon he used as a tool to chop wood.

They are actually answering a lot of my questions about the game, like why thor’s statues look different than thor’s actual appearance, how odin lost his eye, jormungandr still being in midgard after the events of ragnarok, thor’s treatment of modi and how different he is now compared to that etc..
Jormungdr was made when they put that giant soul in the snake. That snake fought at ragnarok, and got hit so hard he went back in time. Every other time we see him it's the post time travel Jormungandr

@@atomicash2475 the eye thing was odin’s story. It is specified here by atreus that the story he heard from mimir is different than odin’s, which means that odin’s story is a lie because, maybe he is embarrassed about the real story.

Don’t think that’s possible. This game takes place roughly around the time right before the Viking invasions. The Egyptian gods are long dead by the time Atreus is born.
@@galaxysmp8163 No, it takes long before the Viking Age. Also isn't it according to Cory that each Pantheon is in its own alternative world where they rule and life, hence the Greek Pantheon had a flat earth for all we know.
@@basilofgoodwishes4138 I’ve heard that so maybe that’s the path they’ll go. Not really alluded in the games though. They treat Greece and Scotland as pretty much just other places In the world if the convos between Mimir and Kratos are anything to go by. They even mention Thermopylae and Macbeth. Which really screws with any attempt to map their timeline to ours.
Though I’ve also heard (but can’t confirm) Barlog has said the game takes place right before the Viking age. Hence my comment. I’d say we’re more likely to see Egyptian gods in a Kratos prequel sorta like GOW 4.
If we do get an Atreus stand alone my money is on it being Mayan.

Gaia is the embodiment of the earth itself. Maybe the blades are tied to a little piece of earth magic within Kratos?

That his great grandfather was cursed to carry a temple on his back for all eternity and that Cronos tried to kill him because he killed his great grandmother which lead him to rip out Cronos' fingernails, drive a giant nail up his head and shoving the Sword of Olympus into his forehead?
