  • Ever since I came up with that Kiteboarding trick over 12 years ago on the island of Martinique, I have always wanted to make a proper tutorial video on how to land a Jesus Walk.
    The Jesus Walk AKA Jesus Style isn't an easy trick but it is one of the most fun to land.
    I hope this in depth video will help the most adventurous of you to give it a try.
    If this video helped you do not hesitate to leave a comment below.
    If you are still struggling landing it, do not hesitate to leave a comment with what' you are doing wrong I will try and answer with the right tips.

    I don't even kitesurf, but this was an amazing DIY video. Great editing. Only wish the end was filled with a Jesus walk compilation :)

    Very nice explanation! Very similar to the darkslide in terms of kite movement and approach.

    Very good explanation... Jeremie......Can you make make a video about Board-off's ...how to start.....Especially a good explanation about how to get those feet back in the foot- straps. I cant get my feet back in the footstraps. ....Meanwhile I will practise the Jesus walk....and give you feedback :)

      Hey Ra, the board off is the hardest part.
      As I explained in the video, tie a bar under a tree or anything else, and hook your harness to the bar to simulate being mid air.
      Once hanging practice over and over the movement, removing and putting the board back on with both feet at the same time.
      Once it becomes muscle memory it will be easy during a kite jump.
      More tutorial videos to come.

    hey jeremie, what would try first: darkslide or jesus walk? both look very similar in kite steering, is that right?

    • @JeremieTronet
      @JeremieTronet  7 лет назад +1

      +sport4boards darkslide is a good way to get started to the Jesús walk yes ;) but Jesús walk much harder because of removing the board but kite movement is similar yes

    Thanks Jeremie for you quik reply. I actually did practised it under a tree.(Its a bit harder though because all your body weight is hanging in the waist harnass, squeezing the body), which is not very comfortable... I also practised it in a chair and hammock :)
    At the moment I feel like my waist harnass is in the way. I cant use my abdominal muscles as efficienct to grab the handle or rail of the board.....Sometimes its hard to get those legs/feet up, and in front of you to put the board back on..I maybe have to lean back slightly in the harnass when putting the board back on...
    ***Do you contract your abdominal muscles really quik when putting the board back on ????.......(Because I am not, maybe thats my problem)
    Is that particular body movement an explosive body movement ??..
    In board-off video's found on the internet, I observed that some persons turn the bar away from their body to create more room to put the board back on. Others put the board back on a bit sideways, "folding" their bodies around the depower rope, sort of ish, moving their head close too or even beyond the bar.
    Looking forward to your Board-off tutorial video. Because I know you can explain this trick much better than all those other board-off video's out there, which just tell you " put the board off and on your feet"....Because I know that there must be handy tips..

    • @JeremieTronet
      @JeremieTronet  8 лет назад

      Hey Ra, yes under the tree is very hard on the abs, much harder than under the kite!
      Being able to remove the board from your feet and putting it back on takes a long time, but with a lot of practice you will get it.
      Yes you want to try and twist your body side way when reaching for the board as well as when you put it back in your feet. You cannot reach it straight forward as the bar is on the way so I would recommend to twist your hips side ways as you reach for the board or when you want to put it back on your feet. This is similar to what I explain in the video when I say as soon as you leave the water turn your body/shoulders toward the direction you are going.
      I hope this helps !
