No me acordaba de Mahler este es otro compositor de mis preferencias que hay veces que tienes muchas musicas tranquilas y sosegadas que entusiasma los corazones y esta es una de ellas. Gracias por subirla y podamos disfrutarla
More advanced harmonies than I was expecting. Number 2 is very interesting, ending on a major 7th chord wasn't common in 1915. The woman had some talent.
I enjoy these songs very much. Certainly different from Gustav. To me they sound closer to R. Strauss , H.Wolf, A Schoenberg. And not that far from A. Berg. These songs hold my interest. The performance is excellent.
Gracias.
@@jessicab1250 are you seriously trying to tell me Gustav Mahlers compositions are not superior to Almas? I mean it was not necessary to make Alma stop composing, but these are not genius Lieder.
Too bad hers was a sexist era. She would have done so much more. If she's not the equal of Gustav, she's certainly as good as Hugo Wolf... and that's nothing to shake a stick at. For those who would disagree: why exactly? If she's hokey, he's way hokier. Her harmony's downright audacious, like Wolf's. He's really got nothing on her.
Many composers were overlooked. Their sex is often irrelevant. In fact, many bad composers are now given new light specifically because of their sex. Liza Lehmann and Carrie Jacobs-Bond are good composers. Not “good female composers”. It cheapens their work.
Agree with everything but the sounds like mahler part. I think it sounds like Early nineteenth century austrogermanic post romanticism, which Mahler also does, but not only him. Zemlinsky, early alban berg, for example. They all share some features but each has a unique style. Alma s is certainly unique judging form these four exquisite songs
Extremely well sung, beautiful voice, great arrangements, sublime music!

No es "Mahler", es decir "Gustav Mahler" sino su esposa Alma Mahler (Alma Schindler).
GENIUS!

SalvaManu Alma mahler fue esposa de Gustav Mahler.
No entendí tu comentario, es decir que si es de tu agrado?
@@alejandrapinzon9920yo tampoco entiendo
How much music did she write during all those years after Mahler's death?
None.
Discouraged by a jealous husband as she ranged from Richard Strauss to Arnold Schoenberg and was among the luminaries of her time.
Mahler wasn't jealous of Alma, after all she was his wife and he was a far superior composer, he wanted his wife to fully support him in his career.

@BallisticEvents mahler eventually let her compose, mahler realized he was an absolute asshole. nonetheless I love mahler and alma
