For some reason I believe he will survive in that boat, even if he in up on the other side of the country!. I also believe for some strange reason the boat will be safer than a house or building!
Me toooooo!!! Laughing at 1:30 a.m. and saying, "He's gonna do what?!" lol Oh, how I wish youtube allowed gifs in the comments. There was a different face being made at each thing that was said.
Sea was to rough well in advance. Intercostal waterway is too slow. Sometimes real men have to do what they gotta do. Not everyone is unfortunate to sit at a desk for a living. Keep your pencils and paperclips safe. The men will do the rest for ya.

They won't be coming to guys aid. They already said they emergency personnel were leaving the area and you were on your own if you didn't leave. Why should they risk their lives for some idiot who didn't obey the evacuation order? If he plans on swimming to shore good luck with the waves, storm surge, god knows what floating in the water and being able to find the shore.🤣🤣😂😂
HE may end up.missing. doing this he is one brave soul. A big big boat have known to go down in hurricanes a cruise ship. I wish him all the luck in the world.
@@itsjosieharr Ah I see not so great. I hear properties are going for next to nothing in Syria. N.Korea also I hear is booming. Great places to live. In fact when I visited Afganistan I noticed the cost of living was none existent. Try those places if you don't like this one. Or maybe stay here and support what you have.
Taking that boat out of storms reach would cost thousands in gas, not only that, most gas stations probably ran dry so he wouldn’t have the range, but I dont get why this guy wouldnt let the boat get destroyed andcollect insurance
Can’t blame the guy for not wanting to leave his boats and hoes. This hurricane will make landfall 2 times and be a CAT 3 when it lands both times. It will be so much more devastating that the media is saying.
that "boat" is about $350,000 + you think he might have put a autopilot and kept it pointed into the wave,so it wont get flipped ,, emergency dingy...and i bet wetsuit, and scuba tank too. i hope he lives...wow..his voice..like earth..deep
Even the U.S. NAVY stays away from Hurricanes, and they have steel ships with deep hulls built to withstand heavy storms. Ignorance and arrogance work hand in hand.
Yeah...when I saw he was staying in the harbour, I thought "oh no"....but when I heard his backup plan 😑 if it's too life-threatening to stay in the boat, he's going to jump into the water and float?!
“I’m pretty good at floating?” “I’m willing to abandon ship in the middle of a Hurricane and swim to shore?” (As if that’s going to increase his odds of survival) As a retired merchant mariner with over 30+ years at sea I was actually beginning to respect this mans courage to increase the odds of his boats survival. Yep, I was a fan until I heard him utter those two oxymorons. But Knowing the lying media as well as I do, I’m gonna give the old salt the benefit of the doubt and assume what he really said was: Real sailors know it’s best to stick with the ship to the very last and be fully prepared to swim for shore if and when the boat sinks out from under me (but only when the last bit of float-sum vanishes out of sight). They probably twisted his words to create a heightened sense of drama. After all, just as every sailor knows “stick with the ship to the very last” so too every publisher knows, “nothing sells better than fear and hate”’
What do they think I happens in all the marinas along the entire u.s. Coastline and all the islands in the Caribbean and then the Pacific? The boats don't get destroyed we're always manned by people to stay with them the boats to get shoved into each other and crashed in to the shore are the ones that people left behind.

look up aftermath pictures of any coastal hurricane. you’ll frequently find boats in the town square, upside down or on their sides... if this guy’s boat does overturn, there’s NO way he’ll survive swimming in a sea churned up by a hurricane... this guy’s a dead man walking. ... and all to protect a fancy boat he could’ve replaced after the storm.
As long as the boat doesn't smash into anything or anything (so like another boat, for example smashes into it/him) and the man has plenty of food & fresh water, there's actually no better place to be. However and having said this, whether or not I'd be willing to take that risk is yet to be seen. IF something strong enough was to smash into his boat and as a result, he then started taking on water, the chances of survival now change from (about 90+%) to nil. Far more safer on a boat than on land and in these conditions, but would YOU be willing to take that risk? Thinking about it, I don't think I would.
It can be done if he is in some sort of harbor with enough land around it to break the waves and wind but wouldn't last long in the face of the storm. I bet he is not the only one doing this. I wish them all luck!
When the tornado force winds and storm surge rock his boat he’s not gonna be happy 🙁 also what is he gonna do for his tour boats if they are in trouble? Get out and catch them?
Watch Destroyer I just would have thought you would have rounded it off to 50 if you didn't know the specific model. 52ft sounds closer than the guy in the comments who claimed it was 90ft.
let us know if he survives
They won't. They normally don't focus their news on one specific person. Unless it's a celebrity 🙄
yeah i think he does survive lol

RIP guy on the boat.
It’s a boat.... he should have road it up north (away from the storm).
Was he gonna go to Rhode Island?
Not necessarily people have been living and dying at sea in hurricanes as long as their has been boats.
Boats float, the water rises, the boat rises, put the bow into the wind and ride it out. There won’t be much swell in that harbor/marina area.
Claire Conover Amen
Won’t work because they’ll be constant waves crashing. And if the water rises there’s going to be so much debris in the water.
Please interview him, or what's left of him after the storm!
For some reason I believe he will survive in that boat, even if he in up on the other side of the country!. I also believe for some strange reason the boat will be safer than a house or building!
Dude it’s gonna roll and he’ll be gone.
You are an idiot
sandra booker yep that’s a strange reason and it make no sense. Like the other reply said, that boats gonna roll. 🙀
sandra booker
For some strange reason I believe you are going to end up with that man!
As long as the nose is pointed into the storm the boat will be fine. It's going to be choppy but he's well in the bay and upstream. He's fine.
All my prayers Go to everybody out there riding out the storm...and may God be with them no matter what happens
Am an old sea man myself and I can tell you that storms are far more stronger on the water than on land so I wish him well.
He's pretty good at floating 😂😋😂🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭

Lol
Material possessions are not worth your damn life.
Ethereal Van it's not just a material possession it's his livelihood.. it's literally how he makes a living
Jeremy Long so,
There's always one idiot. But he has a boat! He could have boated out farther north or south to avoid the storm and slept at another dock.

Didn’t they say they will arrest anyone that go on the water ?

Yes
Wasn't the arrests for people going swiming from the beach? He wouldn't be swiming from the beach.
Not only will he endanger his life for material things but also coast guards that come to his aid.

We need an update!
As a person that can't even swim.... I would be Terrified! 😐
Hope he’s ok 💖
And putting rescue teams at risk to go and save him later
They won't and they make that very clear. Some of us do protect our assets. And maybe with our lives. The power of choice. Keep America Great!!

Make sure you do a follow up on this story!!
Legend says hes still out there fighting the hurricane..
Riding out Hurricane Florence in a boat makes great sense, as long as the boat is off the shore of Maine...
I’d really like a follow up on this guys and his experience through this. I bet his boat is super preparedYou got this man!
This guy is the real hero.. if I had a boat I'd do it..
Why didn't he just take the boat up or down the coast away from the storm. ...Guess sense he's ridding it out he is to stupid to have thought that
Yeah a boat ride in 30+ ft swells for hundreds of miles is a much safer way...
moondog55 quite a few people did it with success even in Katrina. I'm sure the captain of that boat knew what he was doing.
Taking that boat out of storms reach would cost thousands in gas, not only that, most gas stations probably ran dry so he wouldn’t have the range, but I dont get why this guy wouldnt let the boat get destroyed andcollect insurance
This is why you get boat insurance
Wish him the best !
He's a Marine.
RIP Captain James
his dream to be on the news one day and now here he is
Who's going to go talk to him after this is over??? I need the story

TheBlackdragon936 do you watch the news? It was downgraded to a cat 2 Wednesday night and is a cat 1.
Chad Haubrich I did and they are wrong, it will go off shore again after hitting South Carolina and will get stronger before hitting Georgia.
TheBlackdragon936 make landfall twice 😂
Sounds like fun.
floating debris keeps it not so fun...sleep very little....and may not have a marina or dock to go back to...
A Hurricane Boat Party.

He would put other people at risk at some point.
Is he alive??? Still??

He literally JUST said he has experience....
Given how much that yacht & the rest of his fleet cost, I can kinda understand where he's coming from with not wanting to leave them

this guy is just ridiculous, if it gets bad i'll just jump in. thats freedom.
He better "run for da heels".
Swim to shore??? What shore?
So did he live?
It's probably safer than being in your house on the coast right?
I would think the best place to be is in a boat! That boat is a good swimmer lol

boats sink in hurricanes.
being the projectile is not actually safer than the target getting hit.
Does anyone know if he is ok ????
Whatever happened. Whats the update.
Wonder what ended up happening to him
Why doesn't he take the boat up north?
hopefully he'll be safe
Love this man. Hey got a good looking boat. Give me a ride dude.
Hello very bad storm
Ok. Its been 3 years, did he make it?

Weather Scientists should give him all the instruments they need to test a typhoon. If he stays there he can shoot the entire storm period.
May God be with you so long as your faith on him is strong you will go through it safe.
did he make it threw the storm?
He must be from Florida.
If massive anchors can't keep the boat steady wtf is he gonna do? Some people are always gonna do the dumb thing.
"So youre worried that if you left your boat alone it would get destroyed..." yeah cuz staying on it will keep that from happening....
Dude is crazy
Was waiting for details of a well prepared plan B.......”well he’s just going to jump in the water and swim for shore” 👍🏻😂
My ex husband done the same in 2015 in Florida.
His prefer stay inside his boat
stupid is as stupid does
What I can’t believe is how the weight of his steel balls have not sunk that boat?
Ambner Alvarado More like the weight of the rocks in his skull.
Wonder if he made it through the storm?
If he survives he can write a book.
He said he is gonna go straight into the hurricane to keep the boat steady”😂😂😂😂
??? seriously.......If he's that concerned why not pull the boat out of the water and put it where it's protected....

Matthew O'Neil 🤔
Can we get a post storm update? lol

He's done this before....

This storm is not going to be that bad
He said it, HE IS PRETTY GOOD AT FLOATING! Flotsam he will be...
He owe's a ton in child support, so he can't step foot on land. A hurricane is less risky, and wayyyy less expensive. ;)
His insurance company thanks him.
52 foot boat vs hurricane.....
Hurricane ! Hurricane !! Hurricane !!!!
I'd watch that boxing fight.
52 foot? That's oddly specific.
Primalxbeast I was just guessing based on my limited experience with boats. Certainly not big enough to convince me to take the chance.
